Is it any good? Might pick it up tomorrow if so.
Star Citizen
Try looking up to the sky.
If you find it fun you might like the game.
Like2-3 hours of content. All buggy and crashy.
>Might pick it up tomorrow if so.
No it's not, it's a buggy ass tech demo with nothing to offer you past 2 hours. People has been waiting for months for the ''saviour'' patch 3.0 which has been delayed and cut a hundred times.
Don't pick it up, take a stroll around /scg/ and you'll see how fucking angry everyone is, and for a good reason.
I bought it about a year ago just to get my foot in the door in case it somehow delivers on its promises in the future. So far I regret it, but I considered the purchase a long term investment from the get go. We’ll see how it plays out.
Oh well. Maybe it’ll turn into a great game by 2020 but I’m not optimistic.
>inb4 "B-but they're really updating the game, there are weekly updates and stuff!"
I picked it up way back when it first went on kickstart, got an Avenger with it. I haven't played past the release of the dogfighting module, so I don't know if they ever actually did anything with it.
It was ok to shoot down ships in the module, but not so much I'd say it'd be worth the $80 bucks.
Dammit. Really hoped for star citizen to be The One Game for me. Looks like it won't, thanks for warning me anons.
it's not anywhere near done yet
No. What you get right now is just a bit of random concept shit thrown together with lots of bugs and issues. It's not a proper game so far and it won't be for at least the next 2 years, given how far behind schedule they are.
I think they have free weekends, so just wait for one of those and try the game out yourself.
The game is in such a terrible state, that you have re-download the ENTIRE 32 Gb alpha whenever there's a patch
>bought this game back in 2012 when they said alpha would be released by the end of the same year
>have barely played it or followed it
>still have no idea what it's even about or what is happening apart from new ships getting added weekly that you have to buy
>whatever, apparently i don't have to buy those to play
>log into the game because apparently there is some "gameplay"
>walk around in some empty city and look at some weapons and armour
>only like 4-5 weapons exist but 1000 different spaceships
>no idea how to get money and all that but whatever
>the whole city is empty and barren, not a single soul
>no idea what to do
>uninstall.exe
Why did i believe in this shit
It's ok, Chris Roberts is an actual con artist and we've all been victims so we can give you a heads up.
>spawn ship
>get it stolen by people camping landing pads
>walking around your ship while it's flying has a 50/50 percent chance of ejecting you into space
>people camping repair stations just to fuck you up for the lulz
>npc ramming you with their feeble ship but with twice the normal stats
>absolutly rage inducing eva
>glitching through walls like it's going out of style
>ridiculously demanding for the sake of being ridiculusly demanding, they basically dont want you to play
>promis inmersiveness like you've never seen before, say that everying on the ship is gonna be functional down to the computer parts
>it's not
>going in your bed is a gable as you may not be abe to get out of it
>confusing, unclear objective that may or may not spawn
>shameless cash grab who sold exclusive and rare ship to richfags, some up to 10k
>10k ship are basically capital ship, anyone who bought one is literally going to be a god who's dick you gonna have to suck non stop since you're gonna have to refuel there, save there, repair there, host your guild there
It's abysmal
>mfw I built a pc 4 years ago and SC was one of the biggest motivations
>mfw I never bothered to buy into it and have a backlog of about 70 other games
>mfw SC is still roughly as playable as it was then
I really want SC to be good if/when it ever gets to a playable state, but I really don't have much hope left for it.
thanks for reminding me that I pre-ordered a ship in 2012
two thousand and fucking twelve
can you still sell them? I could use the money
more like, Star Shittyzen
Squadron 42 is pretty good. It came out in 2016.
HAHAHAHAHAHA well done hahahah
Hey, me too
>you can only exchange your ship for in-game currency
>the ship you buy with in-game currency is untradable, bound to your account and surgically implanted in your ass
>you can only repeat this a few times before the games tell you you cant buy ships anymore
it's locked to pump money out of your pockets
>>the ship you buy with in-game currency is untradable, bound to your account and surgically implanted in your ass
Lol
Called it, Derek Smart called it, that fat depressed idiot that is Lowtax called it
SCAM
SHITIZEN
>didn't fall for scam citizen
>never bought an early access game
>never bought a season pass or a micro-transaction
>never opened a loot crate
>not Anthony Burch
feels good
>break world records as the largest crow funded project ever made reaching billions in support
>we need to sell you ships because it shows us that you support the project
>fell for the scam
>but still not Anthony Burch
All things considered I still came out on top.
At least we can all agree we're glad we're not Anthony Burch
>Called it, Derek Smart called it, that fat depressed idiot that is Lowtax called it
for the record, Sup Forums called it first
>but I considered the purchase a long term investment
why do i always hear this from star citizen fags.
it's not an investment. backing a game isn't investment. unless you're using fig or something. it's just buying a game that isn't made yet.
Just buy another, better space sim, like Wing Commander or some shit. I grabbed X-wing off of GOG yesterday, and it's pretty good providing you have a joystick. It also doesn't cost $40.
What ship? I'll buy it off you, email me
[email protected]
The saddest thing in the universe, is that there is someone that wakes up every day, and they actually are Anthony Burch.
if you want out, I'll buy it off you check email on
3.0 has been delayed
again
they already delayed it many times
they already scaled back the content that was planned for 3.0
they are working on stupid shit like facetracking
the people who backed this game act like cult members
star citizen is remarkable for all the wrong reasons
At this point modern games are so uninspiring ill take getting excited over a lie.
Poor son of a bitch.
Because instead of using words exclusively adherent to their literal definition, people use words they know offhand which conveys what they're trying to express with a reasonable degree of accuracy.
Unless you're an idiot, you know exactly what he meant by that statement. Therefore, it was an appropriate use of the word.
Welcome to English, where the dictionary is a description of how words are most frequently used, and not a prescription of how to use them.
t. english major
what so is preordering 'investing' in a game?
Product of the public fool system ladies and gentlemen.
Now we'll have a math major tell us that 2+2 is 5
no, but if you were to say "muh investment" i would know that you're expressing an acknowledgement of the fact that the transaction you took part in wasn't an immediate direct purchase, but was instead payment now for an outcome later. There are definitely other words you could have used more accurately, but that one was accurate enough to get your point across in a casual discussion.
So using 'scam' to describe Star Citizen after all these years was accurate?
