Is Steam cancer? So many "gamers" and "pcmasterrace" "gamers" seem to buy endless amounts of games for cheap when they don't even play them. Essentially they give money out for free. They could easily pirate the game or wait until they want to play it when it goes on sale for even cheaper. Its only natural most games go down in price over time. Not to mention all the Facebook degeneracy that happens on Steam profiles and people literally giving Valve free money for emoticons and what not. Is Steam made for the exploitation of retards?

Only way i see steam ever getting payed online is if one day Steam becomes a more popular and dominant platform for games than consoles.

If they even try it the backlash will be so hard, any competitor can literally step in and make their own platform with free online and take a huge chunk of the userbase. Players will actually have a choice because you're not stuck to one ecosystem like on consoles

Steam was always cancerous. From the day it was required for HL2 we knew it would be cancer. But steam sales happened and somehow that fat fuck GabeN became based in the eyes of children.

Steam has been good and bad. I would say mostly bad. I've definitely taken advantages of the sales. But on the other hand, it's helped the loot crate games thrive. It's great that it takes care of patching and game updates. On the other hand, It's led to a lack of knowledge on gamers parts, they barely know how to snap together their own computers these days. They also didn't add refunds until their arms were legally twisted to do so, and even then, the refund window is quite absurd.

I could also shoplift my eggs or wait until they technically expire and try to dumpster dive to get them from the back of the grocery store, but I don't. I buy a carton of eggs and more often than not I throw half of the eggs away without using them.

Because I'm not poor. And if one day I decide I want to make myself three omelettes, I have eggs.
