Mario switch zelda nintendo

Which game did game of the year better

trick question

it's the evil within 2 or ruiner

Probably Odyssey. Don't get me wrong, Zelda is a good game but I don't know why it was praised as the greatest thing since sliced bread. I feel like most of the people that called it so revolutionary have only owned Nintendo consoles so they've never played any other open world games.

I like both, but let's be honest the goty will be for PUBG

At the moment, it's easily Breath of the Wild. Odyssey is good, but it's not nearly as impressive as BotW was and I'm generally finding myself a little let down by it. Capturing should have been more widely used and generally more useful. At the moment, I find it to be underwhelming. I expected more from it and it's kinda been a letdown so far. Meanwhile, BotW didn't let me down even once, and isn't even finished getting new content added. Who knows though. Odyssey is still less than 24 hours old for me. Maybe it'll grow on me in a big way. I doubt it though. I've already played through BotW twice since it came out and had an amazing time each time. In fact, I get tempted to start fresh files on BotW quite often. Each playthrough ends up feeling and being truly unique. Mario probably won't outdo that.

Mario is just uncomfortable in a 3d game. And not being truly open world makes that even more obvious.

The amount of immersion in botw is deep. In mario, it's just not there.

Botw is a 5/5 game. Mario is a 4/5 game

None, both are shit. Get over those fucking franchises already
(not bait)

How fortunate did they get that RDR2 is next year?

zelda

Imagine if Sony only had two worthwhile franchises. Nintendo literally makes millions off the same two IP iver and over again.

Both are shit

Extremely.

Japanese games don't win western GotY when faced with major western games from devs like Naughty Dog or Rockstar.

As it stands though, I think Mario and Zelda will be cleaning up all the awards. It's been a great year for games, but these two stand above it all.

>zelda
>mario
>smash
>pokemon
>kirby
>fire emblem
>Donkey Kong became his own thing
>star fox
fuck you

To me it feels like the other way around. Most people praising it dont really know why LttP, OoT and MM were great.

Zelda is actually good so probably that one

ND is shell of its former self now.

Any current game in the works for them wouldn't have beat these 2 games

Rockstar can still compete with Nintendo though

Comparative quality means nothing. Western games journalism has an inherent anti-Japanese bias.

I know it's not specifically the GotY category, but here's an example. The Game Awards 2014 Action Adventure Category had Bayonetta 2 going up against Shadow of Mordor and losing. Both Bayonetta 2 and Shadow of Mordor got nominated for GotY and both lost out to Dragon Age: Inquisition. Another example would be how The Witcher 3 beat out Bloodborne in RPG and GotY the following year despite Bloodborne being nearly a literal masterpiece and TW3 being flawed but great despite it's shortcomings.

Political values come first, western vs eastern comes next and quality comes in third.

Just think. When Smash bros deluxe and super Mario maker deluxe get announced you can buy even more Wii u games !

Mario Maker Deluxe would be a good idea because it's a community driven game. Smash deserves a new edition.

Persona 5

Odyssey by far

BotW, though xenoblade 2 is still a strong contender for me

i will give you the first example but tw3 > bloodborne

>TW3 > Bloodborne
no, the DLC is better than bloodborne but not the base game

Zelda.

Mario Odyessey is a great game, but it makes me feel like an idiot. Mario isn't as fast as I'd like and, because you spend so much time in each level, the music becomes grating.

the problem is that Bloodborne is not an RPG, it has only RPg elements, but it's and action adventure
if an action adventure win the RPG GOTY, or even get nominated...there is something wrong

by your definition Witcher 3 isn't an RPG either

I feel the exact same way about BotW. Played twice and every second of it amazes me. Only played half an hour of Mario though, it was fun so far, but I don't even expect it to be on the same level as BotW. I don't expect anything to be on that level actually. I fucking hate gaming since I played BotW like it's without a doubt the best game i've ever played.

W3 is an action RPG, with the main focus on the story and characters, witch you can massively affect
BB is and action adventure, with RPG elements, with the focus on gameplay and exploration, with almost no story(lore isn't story), and very few characters

learn the differences

No

Zelda. I am a pc multiplayer fag but bought a switch to play at work. Odyssey is a great game but Zelda is the best overall singleplayer game since i cant even member...and its on a handheld.

Nintendo is back and so is console gaming after what seems to be an eternity of movie experiences on poor mans pcs from sony and ms.

Odyssey is actually really fun. Zelda was just Skyrim with a better combat system and dungeons but worse everything else. Just another brick in the bethesda open world meme genre in my opinion.
