post ebin wipeout music, any game is fine
Only the handling lets F Zero down, it's basically nothing, the sliding in Wipeout XL is amazing
I still like 2097 the best, plus Quirex was fucking awesome in it.

What are the must-play Wipeout games on the PS1? Is there anything Ineed to know about them?
Stand aside faggots

What's it like being born on the worst country on the planet?
the first one is unplayable garbage, XL's handling is the best and most slidey, 3 is decent.
They are most fun in Time Trial imo
Die you fucking sony negroids
Wipeout 1 has clunky controls but you can do okay if you master the airbrakes.
XL/2097 is a total improvement over 1. The difficulty curve can be difficult for beginners but it's a fucking blast to play on Phantom TT. Bonus points for dope tunes.
3 SE is the definitive Wipeout experience, no question. Small improvements and extra content make it certified ludo when it's based off an already great game.
Oh shit I'm sorry.
if you're just upset you can't play wipeout there's always emulation you know
GOAT Wipeout game.
Definitely not unplayable garbage but definitely has a near 90 degree learning curve. That said it was incredibly visually impressive for 1995 and has one of the best soundtracks on the PS1. It still has some of the all time greatest Wipeout tracks, Arridos IV, Silverstream, Korodera and Firestar.
Agree on the time trial being incredibly fun.
Sorry for what? Our father taught us not to be ashamed of our ships. 'specially since they're so fast and all
There's some debate about the physics being worse in Wipeout 3 SE as opposed to vanilla, but never played SE so not sure. The Japanese version also has a drag-racing mode not present in the US and PAL version I haven't tried out either.
3 has great art direction and some great tracks, especially Hi-Fumi, Porto Kora, Manor Top, P-Mar Project and my all time favorite track in the series Stanza Inter. The overall vibe is different from the previous two which have a more gritty cyberpunk feel, 3 is more realistic and in a subtle way kind of bleak and sterile. The music leans more in the direction of progressive trance and house as opposed to acid which was actually a pretty forward-looking choice since trance music got pretty huge in the coming decade and acid took a back seat. Personally I prefer the look and feel of the first 2 but 3 has this incredible restraint in the art and music direction that I really admire.
The main things I dislike about it are the super-minimalistic but at the same time inconvenient to use menu. It taking 600 years to beat all the races to lock up the prototype tracks, and Terminal being a huge anti-climax compared to Silverstream (and Firestar), Spilsknanke and Velocitar.

I share your opinion user. The art direction of 3 is so beautiful you just forget you're playing a PSX game, just look at Porto Kora. Sampa Run looks amazing too, it's one of my favourite tracks.
And the OST perfectly meshes in with the aesthetic of the game. 2097 is like that period where you get into hard ass raves, and 3 is when you move on from that time.
That being said, I do agree that the progression is garbage. Makes me want to just enable cheats and get my roll on with it.
Yeah I can see that, your daddy gave you a good advice!
I loved the Designers Republic style. Combined with the music it made wipeout amazing.
>3
>definitive experience
For the PS1 games maybe. HD is the wipeout psygnosis always wanted. They themselves said it.
I don't know what it is but there's something that feels lacking and off about the later Wipeout games.
Certainly not losing all your speed when rubbing against a wall a little bit.
Why do people even compare these games, they have very little in common
F-Zero is some of the worst racing games ever made so any little shit is likely to be better, yes.
