What are some games where I can be a real fucking wizard? We've had Wizard threads on here before but never really had any games suggested that let you be the old stereotype of old bearded man with a robe and staff walking around casting spells like you don't even give a shit. Any games that really offer that experience?
What are some games where I can be a real fucking wizard...
I dunno about old and bearded but Magicka is certainly a game where you get to walk around casting spells like you don't give a shit.
Dragon's Dogma has the Sorcerer class which has pretty bitching spells that are also overpowered as shit.
The downside is that the casting is pretty boring gameplay wise because it's all about you making enough space for yourself to sit still for 10 seconds and blow the monsters ass off.
Morrowind is a pretty cool Wizard game as well with spellcrafting and the ability to have your own magic mushroom tower with a bunch of legendary artifacts inside.
Whenever people make these threads I get the feeling that people just want a Bethesda game, but one where Bethesda actually gave a shit about the gameplay rather than doing the laziest possible implementation of magic.
Or a DMC game with Magic where you just shit all over incredible monsters like an absolute madman that doesn't care about rules of reality.
It's a shame neither of those games actually exist.
Another user already mentioned Morrowind so I might give that a go to scratch the itch, but the catch is obviously I can't make my character look like an old fart with a massive white beard, at least not in autistic detail
But you're pretty much right

game is fun, just has a bad enchanting system
Don't forget Baldur's gate where Wizards control the battle and can choose which way they want to break it. However that is also a no-beard game, rip.
what the actual fuck is this game, why is it usually on the Steam best seller list for weeks at a time? isn't it just a generic chink MMO?

Does Morrowind have pocket dimensions I can enter and make a hidden base? Are there any games with such a thing?

Checkout Sorcery Steve Jackson on steam. Jerma played through it and you can cast anything from fireball to levitate to read minds with the correct equipment youtu.be
Wow. A reason to thank EA
Magic is the most OP in Daggerfall out of tes, provided you join the mages guild where you get strong as shit custom magic items, daedra summoning and can teleport fucking anywhere on the map from the guild.
Also the system itself allows you to cast a billion firebals a second provided you are good enough.
Does the awakening permanently change the wizard's appearance? Also necromancer or male sorc when?
underrated gem
it got shat on by ancient vidya critics of the day. all the cool kids hated it.
but its actually one of the best pixel graphics ive seen in gaming, and is the first game to use a clear level of detail to depict gore and dismemberment!

Unless you are going to be one of those people who differentiates between wizards and sorcerers

Waltz of the Wizard
a small handful of early 80's arcade games came to depict gore before the immortal did,
but these arcade games are nowhere near explicit or as detailed in graphics.
oh fuck I forgot about this fucking music
Discworld stars a proper wizard. He even has it written on his hat.
I like this game, but it's basically just an easier Wizardry IV. Also it's kinda glitchy and unpolished, since it was a one man job.
Thats two Zs user.
WizZard.
If Rincewind is a proper wizard, then I've got a brain of marshmallows and tar.
