Might as well just read the book version.

Updating your journal.

Writing wise the best CRPG there was and will ever be. The middle portion of the game is by far the strongest, completly falls apart with a disastrously awful last third.

mostly a good interactive book made with the infinity engine.

Wat?

a journal and many updates in it

Very short and simple story-driven game with likeable characters. Just remember that combat is essentially meaningless so just max out int and wis, and cha if you want to roleplay as a Chad

It's really short? I didn't realize that but I don't guess I really have a problem with it.

...

You might expect dropping the game in later chapters if you have chossen fighter or thief class in the beginning.

>It's really short?
If you use a guide like some kind of massive faggot, yeah.

Great story, characters and writing.
Shit barebones combat.

>Icewind Dale
>Baldur's Gate
>Neverwinter Nights
>Divinity: Original Sin
>Pillars of Eternity
>Tyranny

And you chose this as the best cRPG?

How so? TNO makes a really good warrior because of innate health regen, and you do get enough points to get enough INT/WIS/CHA on top of that to pass the checks.

>Neverwinter Nights
>Pillars of Eternity
>Tyranny

Youre clearly trolling

>Icewind Dale

This is barely an RPG game, even though its good

I really don't want to give spoilers but it's EXTREMELY CRUCIAL for you to pick mage in game. This isn't fucking Icewind Dale. Int is everything for your gameplay.

What's wrong with PoE? I was thinking of getting it on sale

Go full WIS/INT and CHA to get the most out of it.

??

I completed Torment like 6 times with different classes user. Warrior was by far the least annoying one since you just bonk everything in the head in combat, and, like I said, you still have enough points to have high enough other stats to pass the checks.

>This is barely an RPG game
What do you mean? I haven't played it but I'm interested in it. Also...
>role playing game game

Do I pick a class like in BG? I love spellcasters so I'm glad to hear that's a good way to go.

eternal shame and disgust when you look in the mirror and recall that you gave money to Beamdog

You don't get to choose a class from the get go, but you will be able to change it a bit later into the game. WIS/INT build is required to get the most out of the dialogues, which are the main reason to play the game.

What this guy said. Warrior is probably even stronger than mage come endgame, and perfectly serviceable in the midgame. You might not be able to splat everyone, but it's by no means a struggle.

I mistook you by OP, my bad. Still, PS:T is a game that can be most enjoyed with dialogues, not by it's combat system.

What did he mean by this?
Excellent, I will do that.

>generic sterile fantasy setting
>horrible writing apart from two characters, game is shoving exposition down your throat until you beg it to stop and then some more
>choices literally dont matter, you cant pick the "evil" ending no matter what you do
>fedora-tier ATHEISM DUDE LMAO GODS ARE MADE UP story

And worst of all:

>they copied worst aspects of Baldurs Gate/DnD combat and somehow managed to go backwards and make it even worse

It's leagues below ie. DOS2, W3 etc.

He means prolly that the only legit way to obtain PST right now is to get the "remastered" version by the parasite SJW infested company called Beamdog who re-release old RPGs with improvements like widescreen resolution and new UI, and "fix" the "problematic content" or add their own, so the games are more inclusive and shit, ie. trannies, niggers and homosexuals.

Not sure if they "fixed" Torment in any way other than widescreen and the hideous new UI+menu, but avoid at all cost if possible and just get the old release + community made mod that adds widescreen resolution.

>"fix" the "problematic content"
Wait what? I knew they added some tranny to BG2 or some shit but what the fuck did they change that was already there?

regret

it's all about ethics in heroic adventuring, user
you're part of the fucking problem if you give money to fucking Beamdog

It's a pity that Tids of Numenera is a dog shite

>I don't know anything about the remastered version but don't buy it because I don't like gays and black people

Not him, but if they actually fucked up pre-existing content just to clean it up then that's despicable. I'm a liberal and therefore not usually offended by SJW-ism except at it's extremes, but that's fucked up.

>>fedora-tier ATHEISM DUDE LMAO GODS ARE MADE UP story
except the game attests that the gods are made by mortals but they are still gods with unexplained god powers. how is this fedora-tier atheism? you're a retard

look at this screenshot, see how the UI isn't even properly scaled? If I wanted a shitty halfjob on my remaster, I'd install community mods. I don't hate Beamdog because they add trannies to a world of magic where you can change your sex with a belt, I hate Beamdog because they are incompetent hacks.

What....what in the fuck are those black outlines?

refund it, pirate the original and mod it, fight the good fight
gog.com/news/mod_spotlight_planescape_torment_mods_guide

Can't believe that gog only sells the enhanced shit now when they had the originals once upon a time. I just started a run of BG tutu with the cleric mod, it's a nice change from playing something cookie cutter like a kensai/mage or thief/fighter.

Shitters ruining games that are otherwise fine. The mod communities that the old D&D games built up did much better jobs.

>unexplained god powers
The game establishes very early on that belief = power in planescape.
This is as early as ravels seed quest

i got a d&d anthology from gamersgate (digital store, not the Sup Forums shit)
it came with bg1+2, ps:t, icewind dale 1+2 (i think) and temple of elemental evil. pretty good bundle although i wish i had got them all on gog before the remasters arrived.

>kensai/mage
What is a kensai, senpai?

How much?

>mfw people don't wait for the superior Christmas sales

Is it superior in terms of the percent discounts or just more shit on sale? Honestly haven't kept track of that shit.

They're a thing from D&D, all the way back from the first edition. They were especially stupid in Baldur's Gate 2 when dual-classed with mage because of the way that xp scaling works, though they started out slow in the first game.

>gog
HAHAHAHA OH MY ARE YOU SERIOUS AHAHAHAHAAA

like $5. it's not there anymore.

Looks kinda cool tbqh.
