Used to play Showdown a lot 2 gens ago.

I played some Showdown during early gen 5.
Mostly stuck to NU, though. I ran dumb sets like Regigigas with Psyche Up and Swagger and Togetic with Serene Grace and Tri-attack. It was pretty fun

What are your favorite gimmick sets in VGC?

I like playing in the tournament but I don't do the IV / EV stuff. Too much hassle. Plus I like to just play with my favorite pokemon that I think look cool, so I'll always lose anyway

Trick Room, is my jam and what I usually use, but I'll never not love Blood Totem for gimmicks. In singles its way better, but it isn't total garbage in doubles.

I play in a league with friends using a draft format which, really, is the best way to play

I would assume that it's the bog standard Sigilyph set

/vp/ meme for Cosmic Power + Stored Power Sigilyph and others. Build up defenses with Cosmic Power to a point nothing can kill you without a crit, heal as needed with Roost or similar, sweep with +12 Stored Power. With Sigilyph in particular, Psycho Shift your burns onto Physical attackers and Dark types.

I prefer doing it with Chimecho, Weakness Policy for the hold item and either Hypnosis or Dazzling Gleam for your fourth move.

What does Chimecho do differently compared to Totem?
