Being inferior to two games made on low budgets 5+ years ago in the same series on inferior hardware REALLY doesn't help. Imagine if Twilight Princess looked worse than Ocarina of Time.

So called Critics are often nothing but Haters and Trolls just as the very people that tend to frequent this part of the Web sometimes. They love to hate on the Sonic franchise and make fun of it but as somewhat of an Expert on Sonic and Sonic related Games and Merchandise and such I can give my own much more objective Opinion on the Game and it is a very good Game indeed. The User Score of 7.5 is very much justified (it could arguably be even higher) and I would encourage anybody to give it a honest try (and buy a true and honest Copy; no Piracy!!!)

-Sega is very obviously giving them less and less money. The asset reuse is getting really severe.
-Low dev times despite claims to the contrary and last minute changes (the final boss was very clearly meant to be Lyric from Sonic Boom).
-Half baked gimmicks.
-Constant staff turnover (lead level designer for this game was a new level designer from Lost World...the Sonic game criticized for having really bad level design).
-Iizuka is a REALLY bad supervisor.
-Sega in general is run terribly.

Odyssey and Sonic Mania both came out before Sonic Forces. It's downright embarrassing and Sega does not deserve another get out of jail free card after this. It is time to clean house at Sonic Team and rebuild from the ground up.

He was vulnerable during 2015-2016 after Runners failed and Boom bombed. I guess the series recovered due to the series basically taking a break from mainline games for 3 years. And the success of Mania is still fresh in people's minds. So even if Forces failed Mania kinda cushioned the blow.

The worst part is that Forces is going to sell better than Mania because physical release and no delay.

Definitely not defending Mighty 9 here but Forces had a few lies in the trailers and shit to try and draw in buyers. Tell me why Chaos is even in the game when he literally shows up in 1 or 2 cutscenes. Yet was featured alongside the villains in the villain trailer as if he mattered

If CWC is disappointed in a Sonic game you know it can't be saved.

Are you saying you trust people enough to correctly contain their bias and rate their experiences against their expectations properly?

sonic team has made a complete mess out of the entire franchise. the whole thing theyve got going on with 2 sonics (classic and new) is fucking retarded. They have turned what was initially a simple series into a big bloated mess. The 3d sonic soundtracks are all awful too. Its mostly just noise. They sound like something from Daytona USA. and who even are half of these characters?
