A collection of Silent Hill games
My penis weenis of course :)
A selection of Quiet Mound games
Seemingly rare collection, that itself's a collector's item, thanks to it being an EU-exclusive.
3 great games of the superb quadrilogy.
SH1 is not included unfortunately, but you can easily emulate it / buy it from PSN Store (for PS3 and PSP).
I'm glad I grabbed one back in the days.
Wanna turn this into a proper Silent Hill thread?
If so, here's the good ol' SH PC Guide + DL links :

Mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate.
The "sh2proxy" is a all-in-one fix, that works as a no-cd crack as well. It is included in the pack.
If you use the NEW fix mentioned in the guide, you can use the sh2proxy's EXE as the no-cd crack!
If you experience issues saving the game / not being able to edit the disp.ini, make sure the files aren't set to "Read Only", and run the game as Administrator.
If SH2 gets stuck in a black screen upon launch, close it and re-start it again.
If SH3 runs like shit even on a strong PC, check and lower the Rendering Resolution setting.
SH2-4 do not support Xinput & PS4 gamepads natively. Either use Xpadder, a DirectInput pad, or just play with KB+M.
There's OK emu-settings for SH1 in the guide. If the image of the game does NOT fill your entire screen in fullscreen mode, check your plugin AND GPU control panel's image scaling settings!
Try the PGXP emulator for a lot less wobbly PS1 graphics.
>Protips
-Play in the release order.
-Never play below Normal difficulty.
-Replaying them all is recommended.
-Turn down the ingame Brightness setting,
-Don't try to kill everything that moves, especially outdoors.
-Turning OFF the flashlight can really help.

Good shit

Friendly reminder,
that the PS2's "The Silent Hill Collection" =/= the (god-awful) Xbox360 / PS3's "Silent Hill 'HD' Collection"
>Didn't even have "The Room"
Lazy fuckers
Tomm "The Walking-Talking-SH-Bible" Hulett literally said that nobody cares of The Room.
Plus, the project started as a mere HD port of SH2 only, for PS3 alone. Then it became multiplat project, and finally they somehow decided to slap SH3 to the set as well.
And all this they had to somehow jam into ONE (1) Xbox 360 DVD, because reasons. So yeah, there literally was no more room FOR The Room.
I have never played these games before, should I give them a go?
Will it happen?
What WOULD happen?
Apparently at least Ito's on board already.
Just like the image states, that fucker originally wanted to rewrite the script too. SH2, one of the most universally cherished stories in gaming simply wasn't good enough for Tomm and he felt he could do better. Fuck him forever.
I'll love it but I have become increasingly cynical in recent time, I don't know if they would be able to bring back the old magic or if the game would be contaminated by mondern cinematic shit
Absolutely!
Especially the original SH trilogy is some of those very essential gaming experiences. Even if you're not a fan of survival-horror, there's a lot of things to appreciate in these gems; something for everybody.
Great visuals, total killer OSTs, extremely deep and detailed plots that aren't spelled out loud for you, tons of replay value in many ways, and personally I find them spooky as fuck to boot - even after dozens of replays. And the best part about that is the fact that SH games do NOT rely on jump-scares or excessive gore, like sooo many more modern "horror" games.
tl;dr: go grab them all from:
Give them a go user, just avoid the HD collection and spoilers at all costs. The original games are excellent and held in high regard among the horror community.
We'll likely never see a group with as much passion and talent as Team Silent ever again.
If you're into old-school Resident Evil -style horror games, then absolutely yes.
If you're into mature stories, dig symbolism and psychological stuff, then once again yes.
Take them slow, avoid spoilers as much as you can, and don't try to play them like action games.
Thanks, lads. I've been looking for something new to play. I'm so fucking bored.
This should help me get by for a few months.
>gave SH1 a go for the first time year ago thanks to these links
>"Pfft, this game looks and plays like ass, I wonder what the big fuzz i-"
>tfw the alley
>tfw "it's getting dark AGAIN?"
>tfw behind clock tower
I swear, besides maybe STALKER, no other game's gotten my palms sweat this much. I bet it has a lot to do with the creepy audio world.

Has there ever been a more perfect beginning for a horror game?
>This should help me get by for a few months.
if you're anything like me, you will find THE games to replay annually, after first doing each game a half-a-dozen or so times for all the endings, unlockables and difficulty modes & stuff.
They honestly don't make games like these anymore. Just diving deep into the fan-theories, story explanations and other stuff after the games is enough to keep you entertained and fascinated for years.
It would only have a chance at being good if AT LEAST Ito, Yamaoka and Owaku were all on board and actually passionate about it.
No.
And I hope no newbie rookie checks out that video, or any other for that matter, before playing the game himself.
Masahiro seems to be interested.
I doubt most other ex-TS members would exactly object against the idea of regrouping either. I hear they were pretty close to each other back in the days.
>I don't have to use Pyramid Head or can kill him in the opening
BASED
I had a similar experience. I think early 3D graphics only enhance horror. When everything looks super realistic a lot less is left to imagination.
Any anons have some SH merchandize ?
