The thing about Soulsborne games is that the releases between the games and ports and DLCs were so staggered that there was always a new announcement right around the corner after a release. Discussion naturally died off after a couple months but then a port came out and when that interest started to die a new trailer came out.

This is honestly the longest From has been quiet since 2011. And no one even talked about the crown DLC or DaS 3 DLC like they did with Artorias.
