Why was this game so damn fun?
AT LAAAAAAST
PREPARE TO DIE
KROLM MAKES ME STRONGER!
It hurts that I never got to play the multiplayer except for a handful of times with my cousin. All the pseudo-LAN approaches like tunngle and hamachi and shit never worked for me, it did for other games, but not this one specifically for some reason.
Seems interesting. What kind of sim game is it ? I see there's a "gold hd" edition on steam
Did Microprose ever publish a single bad game?
rts where you cannot control your units, you have to persuade them to do your bidding with gold.
Think of it basically like an RTS but your heroes all have free will, and you motivate them with bounties. Sometimes they go pants on head retarded but it's fun.
RTS but your units are all assholes who only do what they feel like doing. You have to bribe them by placing bounties on exploring, killing enemies, or destroying buildings.
>tfw Majesty unironically made me appreciate Keynesian economics
It's (((their))) tool, I tell you
Now I'm even more interested in it. Thanks for the answers guys
is Majesty 2 any good?
It was outsourced to russians with a badshit crazy design philosophy so the answer is surprisingly yes.
you are the king and you have to build a fantasy town
most building are guilds which recruit heroes like warriors, thieves and wizard... and some building are stuff like blacksmiths and market where the heroes can buy powerup and such
the thing is the hero you recruit don't obey your order but instead they just fuck around, if they meet a monster that is too strong for them they flee for example and after they beat up a monster they go in the market to buy potion and shits which is what basicaly turns into a game like an rpg version of the sims
the only way you have to control the hero is by putting bounties on things you want attacked or point you want explored, every hero is different and has different interess for example rogues are as greedy as jew so they usualy bite to bounties flag earlier, rangers like to explore the map, healer usualy tow back to other hero since they would be fuck up useless otherwise
it's a really interessing game and just talking about it makes me want to reinstall it again
Oh my god I loved this game. Thank you for making me remember it, off to find a download
Not to shill, but both 1 + 2 are only $1 on Humble now too:
Great deal desu.
From what i head, it does a bunch of things different than in the first game, so fans of the series (do they exist apart from us?) disliked it a little bit. But there is a mod to fix that.
are there any other games like this?
i fucking loved this series
Not that I'm aware of, it's pretty unique. I'd be interested if there was though.
It's OK.
If you liked the first one, you are likely to like the second one too.
Does some things badly, but not necessarily worse than the first, just in a different way. Both have their shortcomings.
Is Tycho fault there's so much Pathfinder trash?
Why are Paladins and Solaire warriors the only ones with not retarded AI.
I get why the warriors of discord are stupid and you have to manage them with change of heart, but everything else is dumb as shit.
>all those skeletons

>TFW for a good few years you annually replayed Majesty with the expansion, Missionforce Cyberstorm (1, not that piece of shit 2), and Doom 1
Only one I still replay every year is Doom, but I do still load Majesty up on occasion to rub my dick on it.
It's not as good as the first, but if you play through the first and you still have a raging Majesty erection it's pretty alright. Or if for some reason you own 2 but not 1, 2's worth playing and if you end up enjoying it then absolutely pick up 1.
Missionforce cyberstorm had a second game?
Those death screams really fucked with me when I was younger.
youtube.com
It did. Much like the move from Deadlock 1 to Deadlock 2 they added more mechanics and wrinkles to the game and tried to give it a "Sci-fi super cool game UI" instead of just normal Windows menus and it lost a lot of the simplicity and charm of the original. I'm exaggerating by calling it a piece of shit but I always vastly preferred the first after I played the sequel.
And yeah, the bioderms were great. Not just the death screams but how they'd get all fucked up looking if you juiced them up a lot during battle. And all the robot customization. Fuck I love that game, wish that would get an HD rerelease on Steam too.
This shit was so comfy
