Difference is sonic has always been bad

whispy woods changes how he fights every time.

And the variety of movesets Kirby cycles through allows things to stay fresh through multiple fights.

Sonic Mania fans will defend this. All Sonic fans will defend this.
And every Street Fighter ever.

t. Mario Odyssey player

you're right, it's exactly the same

In Kirby's case they usually revamp Whispy with different attacks, especially nowa days, just compare Flowery Woods from Triple Deluxe with Clanky Woods from Robobot.

You've stated this before, and we've stated why it's fine before.

Fuck off.

Kirby
>Fucking God-Tier boss fights

Sonic
>Shit bossfights outside of the Biolizard

Every Bowser fight changes up tactics every time.

But King Dedede fights are repetitive as fuck. Same moveset and if it doesn't work, used Masked or Dark Matter on him for yet another rehashed boss fight.

Going too far user. Kirby bosses are not much more complex, way harder to cheese though.

>But King Dedede fights are repetitive as fuck. Same moveset and if it doesn't work, used Masked or Dark Matter on him for yet another rehashed boss fight.
At least Star Allies is doing the most different with him we've seen yet. Also Robobot did some cool shit with the 3 clones & gun thing.

King Dedede is never the main enemy though, and his boss fights amount to little more than the cameo.

People unironically defend Sonic Mania saying it's completely original.
>8/12 stages are reused
>Bosses are reused. Some came back nerfed or terrible. (Death Egg Robo, Metal Sonic)

Whispy fights are almost always different from each other.

“Fans… This one is different! This one has a new miniboss and has more pathways and secret special stages which has never been done before, making it HIGHLY original!”

This game looks so fucking weird. I hope we get other bosses like that.

It sucks that they were reused, but a good enough amount of the act 2’s feel fresh.

Still, if it was all original zones it would be much better.

Megaman, X, and Zero series all have new stages, bosses, and music everytime.

Sonic still lives and Mega dies.

This argument falls apart when you actually look at the level maps and also consider that each returning zone is full of new gimmicks and gimmicks from different stages

see
It's still an old level with another coat of paint.

It's not fair to compare the two. X, Zero, Classic, ZX, etc. are only connected by the barest of plot threads and are virtually different series.

The fuck he has, like they only just now started to make second phases to his fight common and it's only just to shill what ever that games gimmick is, other than that it's still the same as it was from fucking dreamland.

>different series
The Sonic franchise still lives shitting out bad Sonic games from their own developers. The Mega franchise is dead, unless you count MvC Infinity.

>the vast majority of the level layout is new
"it's just a new coat of paint"
Ok user

Whispy woods is basically the tutorial boss, it's easy and changes based on the game's gimmick.

Star Dream was the worst final boss in a while though. The QTE was literally just rotating the stick, and the true arena final phase, while good, doesn't make up for the rest of the fight being a slog.

With that excuse, I hope Mania 2 reuses Green Hill and some other stages with new gimmicks and pathways. Besides, it's NEW anyway.
