So do you just get poisoned (Well, inflicted with Toxin) by just being in Blighttown or something? Is that the gimmick here? I was just climbing down a ladder with no one around and suddenly I'm dying.

gid gut fgt

You got shot by one of these pricks.

if you mean the very bottom, the swamp poisons you, but if you're talking about the descent, there's enemies with blowdarts everywhere that are absolute cunts, snipe them with a bow

That doesn't even make any sense.

Ah, it's one of those places with ranged idiots. That explains it. Thank you.

There's a billing of thing with poison inducing abilities in blyattown. And the first is the frame rate.

Whoever designed these should have his balls cut off

Yeah, I'm just getting that now. At least the other enemies are easy (unless you rush and get spammed by bugs from all sides, but that's your fault.)
This place is terrible and no fun, the rest of the game better not be like this.

rest of the game is pretty good although it drops off pretty hard after you beat Anal Rodeo

I hope so, it was fun until here.
Toxin still falls under Poison Resist, right? Seeing as how it's just better Poison, I assume it does.

Poison resist is a meme. Just eat some blooming moss if you're that desperate.

if you have the spider shield from somewhere I can't remember, it's good for the area, status resists are pretty shitty in the game, they don't do much, never level resistance

litchurally just block it you retard

Alternatively get replenishment and never worry about blighttown ever again, because you regen faster than poison damages.

If you're having trouble fighting in cover or avoiding these guys, just farm some souls and go buy some Blooming Purple Moss from that lady in the aqueduct tunnel

Oh, alright. So Status Resist is not anywhere near as helpful as stuff like Magic Resist on your armour? I'll remember that.
And I have two Spider Shields right now.

Thank you all of you guys. I'll definitely see about adding them to my Pack Mule character.
Though I'm running out of slots for everything.

status resists increase the size of the bar that controls status build up, but nothing else
the spider shield has a special property in that it blocks poison and toxic status effects entirely (assuming you block the attack causing it)

Just run through to Quelaag or the great hollow because there is absolutely fucking nothing worth it down there aside from power within and great club. Take the shortcut from firelink, if you didn't choose master key you're a dummy.

...

>if you didn't choose master key you're a dummy
Don't be like this...

the blowdart snipers don't respawn and there are 3 or 4 in total.

...

Wow, that status effect thing really is pretty useless. It was a bit helpful in Bloodborne.
Shield seems cool though.

I did find that shortcut, and I could just run past the Drakes without issue even if I didn't. Not that I planned to do any sequence breaking with the key, but I didn't really want any of the other items.

I could just do suicide runs then, I guess.

Only with the spider shield, the rest still buildup quick.

If you're at all interested in pyromancy, then when you receive a pyromancer's glove you will have to return to blight town to learn masteries at the very bottom, within the poisonous swamp.
Thankfully, though, it becomes much less of a chore once you've progressed further along in the story, since you'll have to return to this place for a short time.
There are many secret paths here, don't be afraid of hitting walls in places with lackluster rewards if you desire more treasure.

I wouldn't say I want to build my character around Pyromancy, but I have been building towards as much versatility as possible. So far it's something like.
>Claymore.
>Mace/Morningstar alternate weapon.
>!00% Block shield.
>Low level Pyromancy spells.
>Ranged Weapon in left hand with excessive amounts of ammo.
>A bunch of throw-able items.

Now I'm just building towards.
>Black Knight Sword requirements.
>A Faith attack of some kind and possibly some healing spells.
>Enough INT to get a regular magic spell and equip a magic element sword.
>Levelling END enough to wear at least medium armour.

Probably over doing it though, but whatever. I'll keep adding stuff as I find them anyway.

Pyromancy requires no skills, no stats. It only requires the passion to wield it, my friend. All you've got to do is level the glove up and the secrets of fire are made clear to you.
And what secrets they are. The ability to manipulate the fire within your undead foes to force them to fight on your side is a useful skill, as is causing your candle to burn twice as bright for half as long with Power Within.
Not to mention, the power of poisons and acids falls under this veil as does some special black magic from an ancient land.

>Pyromancy requires no skills, no stats.
I'll probably get there eventually user, but it was my understanding you needed Attunement(?) to use those spells anyway considering you can only equip 1-2 of them at the start.

Or bring the Spider Shield from the Depths

...

Throw shit so you toxic yourself
Dung pie toxic is way weaker than the blow darts and one can't override the other

reminds me of this

There are rings that can give you extra attunement slots, and sometimes only 2 pyromancy spells can stomp any boss.

>throw firebomb/shoot arrow

Problem solved

they are easy to kill and defend against if you are cautious (and have the spider shield or thief/shadow/pyromancer armor set)

>frame rate
dsfix

The blowdart guys should've respawned, game is way too easy as is

By the way, after you beat the blighttown boss, don't head back just yet. There's a hidden place downstairs before you get to the herds of grub-men. Try attacking every wall underneath the bell. If you're keen to start learning REAL pyromancy, taking compassion on a young girl may help you along. Don't attack something just because it's scary.

Peh, only a barbarian would ever consider using those unsavory parlor tricks! Go to Vinheim and learn some "real" magic, scrub!

Shut up, Kirk
