Dragons Dogma is fun but playing a Bow Vocation feels more like playing a fantasy third person shooter.
You've got your normal semi auto shot, a multishot that is basically a shotgun, rapid fire, a very precise charged shot which is pretty much a sniper rifle and the Arrow Rain thing that is in every RPG that with bows.

Magic Archer is like playing a third person shooter with cheats on.

Ocarina of Time honestly had AMAZING archery for its time.

>see keese or crows figuratively like 20 miles away during your travels
>basically just a flying black dot
>line up your bow and arrow shot
>shoot
>instantly see the screen flash white for a frame and hear keese go "SKREEE" or crows "CRAAAW-"
>feelsgoodman.png

Shit was fantastic.

Did you ever wait on the farm long enough for a big crow (Guay, btw) to show up?

That shit is terrifying.

What games even have compounds?

what

Dude.

Asswanker simulator. You play as a Finnish Demon called the asswanker

WHAT

nu-Lara games

Team Fortress 2

mount and blade
skyrim with mods
dragon's dogma
dark messiah of might and magic
far cry 3 and 4

Far Cry 4

The new Tomb Raiders made it one of their key mechanics. Its succesful for the most part.

nu-Lara games can't make bows working at all. Seriously, you are firing a gun that looks like a bow and requires a lenghty reload each time its fired. They don't even have something as basic as drop. It's just a gun.
And a shitty one to boot.

Well, there's FF13-2...

>New Tomb Raider bows
>Successful for the most part
Have you fucking PLAYED the game? The bow operates just like described by this user. When a game made past 2005 can't even apply drop to arrows, it's not even funny anymore, that's just extremely lazy mechanics and physics.

>Bows

>dark messiah of might and magic
Was it really? I always thought the archery there was fucking shit. Not enough perks to make it viable, shit damage, level designs not conductive for archery, etc.

>level designs not conductive for archery, etc.
Have we played different games?
The amount of things you could do with well-placed arrows and making floor slippery with magic was just absurd. Granted, it didn't really aged well, but it's still better than your average modern game obsessed with bows, while being unable to handle them.

What's wrong with her hands?

Who the fuck holds an arrow like that?

nigga that arrow doesn't even have an arrowhead

Enclave

Are you blind or just trying too hard?

can't tell from the webm but is the arrow one of those specially designed ones for piercing armor that was genearlly used against armored opponents?

>hit metal with stick
>it bounces off
no shit sherlock

>Japanese "Archery"
lmoa

Shogun 2 had good archery before it was nerfed into the ground. Still, Chosokabe bow sammies are brutal.

A whittled sharp tip isn't an arrow head

>Clearly visible broadhead
>B-but there is no arrowhead
Consider visiting ophthalmologist

Thank god you are just blind and not stupid
Take a look before he even starts aiming, where the bow and arrow are pointed down. The very first frame.

Boffering

faggot

You're the blind one retard
are you mistaking the fucking blades of grass for a head?

had to watch the webm twice to figure out where he 'magically conjured a bow out of thin air and into his hands'

what?
No
uh...
No
seriously...
Not even close
...
...
No

Breath of the Wild

>clearly visible broadhead
There's nothing clear about it.

fucking hell that shit was frustrating

>says no to everything
>doesn't give a OP a game
yeah, I'm sped too

Mount and Blade, BOTW, and Skyrim with mods is probably the only things I see. Unless you want to buy VR and play those little archer games.

Longbow in Valve's "The Lab" VR game is easily some of the most fun I've ever had playing a video game.

Absolutely incredible.

Can't wait for Valve's full VR games.

Yeah yeah, VR is da meme and Volvo makz no gams.

Clearly the arrow has a 90 degree turn at the end

What games let me absolutely dominate the French with longbows?

Dragon's dogma, I'd recommend trying bow-only it's very fun preferably as a strider, that way you can actually move around properly.

Chivalry

Lucina

Warframe holy shit
>explosive, high crit arrows that pierce thru baddies

damn this takes me back

That's not an armour piercing bodkin. Not even a proper broadhead.

Fable.

>implying drop is a good thing
look at how shit BOTW archery is compared to OOT/MM or even fucking WW

AoE 2

Funny, I just started playing theHunter(TM): Call of the Wild and it has compound bows.
First, you get really tired from keeping the bow drawn, which I find peculiar, since it should be easy to hold after going beyond the point where it gets easy (sorry for the description, english is not my first language). I can surely hold my 55lbs compound bow longer than the hunter dude (on the other hand, he can also only hold his breath for like four seconds while simultaneously being able to sprint FOREVER).
Second, which I find worse, is that you can get a perk that increases your drawing length. That's just not how compund bows work. They have a fixed drawing length adjusted to the person using it, you can't just make shots stronger by drawing out more like you would with recurve bows.
