I know you have to level up as well to unlock stuff but that goes far faster than you earn credits, especially if you spent your credits on unlocking heroes first. If you don't pay you won't have cards for a lot of things for quite a while and definitely won't have upgraded cards once you unlock those unless you focus purely on one single class and nothing else, while those paying will have cards for everything and can upgrade them as soon as they unlock those.

3 years is a pretty short time on Sup Forums but I guess I must admit I don't really remember how it was viewed a few years ago, I've mostly seen and used normalfag, with normie mostly being used by people not really from here. But even if it was okay to use years ago the word is now completely taken over by Sup Forums and places outside of Sup Forums so using it over normalfag pretty much puts you with those even if that's not the case. But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

As for the free maps vs loot crates issue, this was actually the reason I initially preordered the game as I was hoping they would improve the loot box system after the feedback they got as if they weren't too much of an intrusion then I could live with them if it meant not having to buy season pass shit and having the community split up by those.

However after playing it a bit in the early access it seems like it actually got worse since the beta, with you having to buy heroes with credits and prices on loot boxes going up significantly.

I guess luckily I also got bored of the game really quickly so I will have no problems refunding the game as soon as I have finished the story(if I even can be bothered, so far it's pretty bland).

I'm not here for just 3 years, I just remember it when it started being used which was all ironical.

That's a fair complaint, I don't know how it is balanced exactly and how long it takes to unlock heroes. I actually don't mind not having all heroes because I don't really want to be playing with all of them from the start, but one thing I don't know is if you can unlock heroes through the loot crates. If so at least you can get a random one, and if not then people won't get heroes much sooner, though I do know that you can get credits from loot crates. I agree, cosmetics only would have been far better, but if this was balanced properly it wouldn't be much of a problem for me as I don't hate progression systems.

Credit is the money you earn through playing, but yeah you have to unlock them. Dunno if you have any unlocked at the start or how different the prices are. I also think you can't just pay to unlock them, but I might be wrong. You can currently get a weapon from a loot crate that you'd otherwise have to complete a challenger for, like say killing 500 people or something like that.

Personally if it's just about heroes not being unlocked at the start, I don't mind it that much, but i get where you're coming from.

The gameplay is pretty shitty so what you could always do is just buy it on a day you have a lot of free time, try the various multiplayer maps and then go through the campaign and refund it within 24 hours.

You only get a lot of points in the very beginning due to one-of-a-time bonuses and rewards. They don't regenerate. Once you exhausted those you make a miniscule amount of points (and bad news, some guy going afk in your game while you are MVP will make pretty much the same amount, everyone's a winner yay!) and it'll take you ~15 matches to buy a single box at that point.
People did the math.

The loot crates aren't that shitty, the design is far from bad and the maps look alright. If you hate shitcrates in any game, fair enough. However WAIT BUT A SECOND! The game will be getting free updates in regular intervals! There's a leak that grievous might be added, and they are even thinking about adding a droideka!

In all honesty it's definitely an improvement from battlefront 1

They are very shitty, not sure why you would want to defend them. Also being a slight improvement over the garbage that was battlefront 1 doesn't really mean much. There are a few okay maps but most of them are pretty garbage and way too short and with only 100 kills to end the game it's not that uncommon that heroes first come out at the last 20% of the game and barely get to do anything.

sad part is that Theed is actually one of the better maps.
