Reminder that Super Mairo Bros. 2 was too hard, so they changed the sprites of an already existing japanese game for international release and nobody knew the difference.

And that makes the international release easier because?

The real super mario bros 2 was too hard

They picked an easier game that was kinda like mario for international release instead and the harder game was released in japan

I love it when kids discover something that everyone just fucking KNOWS.

Oh alright.
I can't remember anything of SMB2 though, I'll try to play this Japanese version sometime.

This
Literally anyone that cares should have owned super Mario all stars and known all this decades ago

>That first jump
What Mario Maker level is this?

doki doki panic isn't easier than the lost levels in any way, shape or form. Not that either one is particularly difficult to begin with.

Wow, welcome to 1993. What's your point?

>"the lost levels is easy"
No it's not, you have never played it either.

They don't even know the story right.

Doki Doki Panic was going to be Mario 2 but they thought it was too different so was scratched.

Who gives a shit.
Despite being a reskin,SMB2 arguably set the stage for SMB3 than what Lost Levels did.
Also, Japan fucking digged the reskin as well, which is why it got released in Japan as well soon after.

Should have spiced this bait up with the Irate Gamer video.

I have, it came with super mario all stars. You're the one who hasn't played the thing and are imagining some unmanageable nightmare. You can finish it in about an hour. This is also why it's such a shocking revelation for you that doki doki panic was mario bros. 2

"lost levels" is legit the worst 2D Mario game

Reminder that SMB2J was pretty much a ROM hack and wasn't released outside japan not because of difficulty, but being too similar to the first one.

Puyo Puyo was changed 4 Times and even had a Ripoff

Yes, it is. And even western Super Mario Bros. 2 is easier than the original Doki Doki Panic was, e.g. bosses have less HP, platforming is slightly more forgiving, don't have to beat the game with each character to beat the game, etc.

Stop extrapolating from wikis and go play the fucking thing, idiot. It's really not that bad.

I have played the fucking games. Western Super Mario Bros. 2 is ridiculously easy compared to the others. It's not even a contest. And they didn't just replace Jap Super Mario Bros. 2 with an easy game, they replaced it was an easier version of an easy game. They had a really low opinion of westerners if they thought they needed to dumb down that much.

Don't change the subject, the lost levels isn't as bad as you claimed. SMB2 isn't as braindead easy, either. Doki doki panic is harder only because you have to finish the game with each character.

>doki doki panic isn't easier than the lost levels in any way, shape or form.

You don't have to finish the lost levels 4 fucking times, for starters.
I really hate all these underage shits fetishizing NES games they saw on youtube.

Super Mario 2/USA is objectively better than Lost Levels and subjectively better than 1, 3 or World.

>Doki doki panic is harder only because you have to finish the game with each character.

And it has harder bosses, one was even completely cut from Super Mario Bros. 2. And it has some harder platforming segments. And the characters have smaller jumps.

>Doki doki panic is harder only because you have to finish the game with each character.
It also has a save feature, tho

Wow, very obscure find OP. I don't think anyone knew about this.

The game itself is much harder, what the fuck are you talking about?
>You have to finish it with each character :(((
Come on. SMB1 made it harder for the second playthrough. In SMB2/USA you just play through the game again.

I finished the game several times on GBC.
If there are people who nly watched YouTube videos, they post like this:
>And it has some harder platforming segments.

this. we more likely got SMB2 instead because Lost Levels was a lazy expansion pack, also its not like SMB2 isnt a real Mario game or anything, it was developed by Miyamoto and Nintendo
I feel like this is still being discussed only because some underage thinks he came across a little known fact while watching a shitty youtube video

>

>everyone just fucking KNOWS.

LITERALLY THIS

>All of these kids saying SMB2 is harder than lost levels
Lost Levels is literally the best (and hardest) 2D Mario ever made, this thread is mind boggling

tTOP TENN GAMNING FACKTS

DID YOU KNOW Mario 2.... is Doknin Pincic???

The real SMB2 is only hard because the physics of SMB1 haven't held up very well. Compared to 3 and World it's incredibly stiff.

lost levels is painfully easy and a step down in level design from SMB1

And how do you access the letter levels?

and its the best "mario" game of the lot.

Why did the chicken cross the road?

To get to the other side!

Honestly, compared to SMB2, Lost Levels feels very underwhelming as a sequel. It's more like Master Levels than a true evolution of 2D Platforming concepts introduced in the first one. I'm glad we got SMB2 if only because it made Shy Guys a main Mario enemy.

I don't get it, don't you mean to get to the other SNEED?
