Fuck, don't make me remember that

Lost Odyssey dreams made me cry

never played FFVII so it was a big impact for me
youtube.com/watch?v=ng5lFbeQSoQ

Mother 3

...

youtube.com/watch?v=F9hagVL-__c

When Quiet leaves in MGSV
I spent the entire game sexually harassing her on my inescapable oil rig in the middle of the sea
I was the boss so there was no-one she could turn to for assistance
She then saved my life and opted to die alone in the desert rather than risk infecting me
Sad

>A curse forced me to leave my baby in the tub alone
Fuck this game

...

>He never got to be the hero
Dammit

That is the point. You're not meant to think "Oh, this family is tragic and cursed", you're meant to realize how awful Edith was and how her using a "curse" to escape her feelings of guilt due to being neglectful facilitates even more deaths.

>We wanted to believe in a curse so bad we made it real

Here's a good video about it.
youtube.com/watch?v=6bMn4CoyUkM

If you played this game and didn't cry, then you're simply incapable of feeling anything.

RIKIYA
He was just starting to move on from the deaths in 1 and 2 too. I hope he has a happy ending in 6.

what game is this

Eh, it was a little too on the nose and whimsical.
Not that that's bad, OPs example is disturbingly whimsical.

I dunno, felt a bit ham fisted to me. I could feel the devs over my shoulder.
>Go on! Cry!! Look how sad and poetic this all is!!

youtube.com/watch?v=I-CSZDbKuL4

>tfw your waifu is trapped between a bleak hollow torturous existence and the only other option is oblivion

I cry every fucking time

I've always loved this one.

There is nothing manly about crying to a piece of media. I've fucking done it myself but I have absolutely no pretenses about how fucking lame what I was doing was.

A manly tear is when the man who has been your best friend since high school dies in a car accident and you try your best to maintain your composure because you've got a job and a family to maintain but then at his funeral you finally break down seeing him in the casket and it codifies the fact that it's all real.

A manly tear isn't the end of a sad game that makes you cry. Those are children / woman's tears.

What remains of Edith Finch. You play as a girl looking into the many deaths in her family. While initially presented as fantastical tales, you soon realise each and every one of them is caused by neglect.

In OP's example you play as a baby drowning in a bath cause he was left alone. The music and narration gets me every time.

Really didn't give a fuck

I've never bawled my eyes out at a game but I've definitely cried at books and games.

There's absolutely nothing embarrassing about getting invested in a story to the point it can effect you emotionally. The "manly tear" shit is kinda pathetic, especially when talking about reacting to real life tragedies.

It's so much worse when you realise the ending lyrics are from her perspective

Yeah, I agree actually. The fun bits outside of the sad parts were great and a nice contrast, but the bits you were supposed to cry about were pretty generic and a tad forced. Though I still teared up a tiny bit, if I'm being honest.
That ending would've been a solid 9/10 if they just had Mom's Song instead of that clusterfuck of all of them though.

All in all, I'd give it a 7/10 at best. 8/10 if you add my bias towards Laura's music.

Oh wow real life is more important that a fucking game or a story? Big fucking news
Crying to games, stories, songs, what-fucking-ever, isn't a sign of weakness

>SOOOON
>YOU HAVE A WAY TO FALL

I would have really, really loved this to have been the end of Big Boss' story. Fuck 4, PW and 5 trying to redeem him.

He had a good motivation to become a villain while not seeing himself as one, became one, and died. The end.

...

when i realized i was 28, married, and don't have time for video games anymore

Stories that had great, tragic endings that were kinda ruined by continuing them.

>mfw when there's something in my throat

I cried my eyes out when some nigger scammed me out of my black armor on RuneScape.

I thought this bit was border-lining on tasteless and I play Suda51 games

>so insecure over his masculinity that he has to un-immerse himself from media over fear of being seen as a child.
How tiny is your dick?

When Isaac snaps out of his hallucination after he destroys the Black Marker and just takes a seat I honestly began to cry. The emergency alarm is yelling at him to evacuate, but you can tell he's not going anywhere...

There is not a single good written game out there to make me cry.

You haven't played enough well written games.

Fucking bollocks. It's a testament to the talent of a developer and the emotional maturity of the audience when a piece of media can take a fictional concept and make it deeply personal for the person experiencing it.

It also speaks volumes about that person's ability to sympathize or empathize when they themselves can relate the subject matter and shed a tear for it.

Gobak2/b/

Didn't even think of that. Damn.

I play games since 1992. Tell me one please...

Three Fourths Home

>The voice of the wind and droplets of light flow over you as you doze
>I will never forget the gentle smile and the eyes you hid in sorrow

>You defended this fragile and fleeting world with your hands
>So please, fold your wings and rest
>Sheltered by an eternal peace, love through all eternity
>Rest now in my arms, as I watch over you

>That blindingly brilliant moment when we were all together
>Those precious times I didn't realize I should cherish
>Now all I can do is remember

F-fuck

How did I not notice this? I need to replay it

>Game

>mfw Bread of Grandma Coto

pseudo-masculine faggot detected

I JUST WANTED A GAME ABOUT CUTE POKÉMON

user...

>le manly tear

fuck off, it's just called crying you stinky dink

Clannad

>That mission to rescue the Tepig in the mountains
>That part where you get stranded after finding him
>The part where your health begins to deplete while pop ups ask if you'll "do anything to survive"
>The part where you cook and eat the Tepig so you can make it back alive
I-I just wanted to be a pokemon rescuer.

youtube.com/watch?v=0kjBWpiGBxg
Dunno why but endings where all the main characters parted way and continues on with their life after their big adventure
Always made me sad for some reason

He was too much of a bro for this world

Obligatory

youtube.com/watch?v=Kur0qaYM1jM

Undyne the Undying

>Helping him find someone to finish his back tattoo
>Taking him under your wing and teaching him what it means to be a Yakuza
>Pretending to be gay with him so you can sneak into a love hotel
Why'd he have to go?

>cook and eat the Tepig

HOLD THE FUCK UP.

Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky

>That music
Holy fuck what were they thinking

Honestly makes me feel everytime I hear it.

Vivi is the person that narrates FFIX, it's his final account of the adventures he went on right before he finally shuts down for good

>Hey Tepig, I'm feeling a little chilly... Could you... Could you light that fire?
Really came out of nowhere

Get out

>The ONE time "They were in a coma" was real

This is probably one of the only games to do the whole 'it's a dream' ending in a good way. It's foreshadowed throughout the game along with the drawn setting working thematically with the whole coma thing.

To The Moon made me cry.

River died, her husband never fully realized why he liked her or even remembered his own brother. Sure he makes it to the moon - but it's a fake memory constructed purely to fulfill the original contract. It's not even bitter-sweet.

That night, ARK dreamed a dream...

The ending of Final Fantasy Tactics made me terribly depressed for a while. Literally nobody has a happy ending in it.

Not to mention
>Helping him find his childhood friend

>LOOK AT MY TRAGIC LIFE I DIDN'T CRY WHY SHOULD YOU

I cried at my dad's funeral.

I also teared up at the end of MGS3, the last line of Wreck-It Ralph, and the flashback and last panel of the Drum Island arc in One Piece.

You can cry about more than one thing, you fucking weirdo.

IT'S
NOT
FAIR

I played FFVII and knew it was coming, and it still hit me hard.
The fact that I knew it was coming kept me from finishing the game for like a week.

>Crying at Drum Island arc
>Not at Sabaody Archipelago Arc

Even I'm not gay enough to cry at video games.

The remake better do this scene justice

>tfw in denial and picking the choice to keep your eyes open to the end
IT WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO END LIKE THIS
FUCK YOU DEATH
FUCK YOU PHILEMON

youtube.com/watch?v=9JvNhc13oKI

Zulf had a hard life

youtube.com/watch?v=bfzzYdcYOd4

The festival in Mario Odyssey made me cry. I think it's because I'm old, I just can't believe how far video games have come since I started playing.

Bastion was the game where I noticed I was starting to no longer enjoy selfish or edgy options in vidya and was consistently picking heroic or selfless ones 80% of the time

I didn't cry at the end of MGS3 at all. Didn't even shed a tear during Ground Zeroes either and I reached the 100% ending in PW.

Am I that emotionless? Or am I not alone?

I mean, what happened to her mom and dad and Edith herself was no one's fault.

A lot deaths seemed really avoidable, but others just felt like a string of really awful luck.

Helping Zulf despite everything that happened is so much more satisfying than the alternative.

>that music
>they stop shooting
>that enemy who cuts down that one guy who tries to shoot you

10/10 feels, will always make me choke up
bastion was great

The Boss dumps 15 minutes of gross exposition on you and then you kill her. Just like Sniper Wolf, I imagine only prime retards felt anything other than mild amusement.

Kojima generally doesn't understand human emotion. Which is why that girl from Peace Walker dies by having, like, a bomb sown into her vagina and throwing herself out a chopper. Damn.

Silent Hill 2

When James hear his last dialogue with Mary, at the hospital before the last boss.

When Laura talks about his time with Mary, telling James how much she waited for him when he wasn't with her.

When Angela appear for the last times surrounded by flames and say: "You see it, too? For me... It's always like this." because she can't bear anymore the memory of when she was raped.

I didn't really cry nor did I get sad over it but Roxas' bossfight in KH2 was kind of sad, especially when you've seen days.
youtube.com/watch?v=wHRL-JfXhFQ
The music didn't help either.
The fucking j-pop garbage ruined it for me
Kiryu crying like a bitch still gives me a sour taste to this day. He didn't even cry when Nishiki died, he gave a sort of cry when Shinji/Reina died.

You could argue that getting pregnant at 17 and jumping through trees when your 22 weeks pregnant contributed heavily to her death during childbirth.

As for her Mother, one out of twenty dying from a disease seems pretty natural, you could also argue that she escaped a neglectful death since she was the only one who rejected the idea and ran away. Her father also doesn't count cause he wasn't a Finch, just like Sam's wife.

youtube.com/watch?v=sfOYM_I_hR0

Yeah, I admit it.

There's only one part in SH2 that makes me cry and it's due to the voice acting

> James... you made me happy

Seriously, fuck anyone who had the gall to claim SH2s voice acting "sucked" during the whole HD debacle.

Oh yes.

Pretty sure by today's standards, making your child play Battletoads would be classified as rape.

>Shadow dying in Sonic Adventure 2
>Joel's daughter getting shot in The Last of Us
>"You're the inspiration" from Elite Beat Agents
>Mario Odyssey's New Donk City Festival Joyful tears
>Splatoon 2's final boss Joyful tears

>liking Tali
Fuck her, fuck her people. Legion is the real OTP.

I think thats on purpose. The first one he takes hard but bears, the next he breaks a little. Yakuza 3 is about him moving on from that tragedy, and when he feels like he has, his "little bro" surrogate dies.
I see it as being one too many and at the worst time to happen.

As for KH, Roxas saying to goodbye to Axel after Sora beats him gets to me.
Plus, and Im in the few here, but Xion's death. People laugh at the ice cream line but it gets to me cause that's what Roxas sees friendship as. As a nobody he doesn't quite get it, so to him being friends is "hanging out eating ice cream." So when he says "Who will I eat ice cream with?" what he means is "Who will I have left?"
youtube.com/watch?v=UCH8O7kOSaY

I cried when my father destoyed my ps2 and deleted all of my games from the pc

The only part of the voice acting I thought sounded really stiff were the intro interactions between Angela and James and a line or two from Laura.
>"I'm a little lost..."
>"...Loooost?"

But as the game went on I thought everyone was genuinely good. Mary/Maria's actress especially.

I feel really less attached to her now I know she looks like a google stock photo under that.
