Mario Party on 3DS

Mario Party on the DS was fun for the first time, but it really is better off being on a console. More boards would have been nice, since this game had the right idea.

When GameXplain thinks a Nintendo game is boring, that's when you know it's boring.

Donkey Kong requires a whole new animation set to match with every minigame.

With Rosalina, they can largely copy the two other girls' set.

Is Running of the Bulb in there? It's unquestionably the greatest Mini-game of all time.

Interesting that this game actually does solve that problem on its one board by letting all players roll at once, since they all have their own screens.

As of now, the wiki shows MP5 with the ost (17, assuming my counting is correct) with 2 and 3 having around 12-14 or something along those lines).
8 and 10 seem to be the lowest (currently 3 for 8 and 4 for 10, even assuming there are more for those games, most of the other games have around 10) with MP1 in 3rd with 6 games (so far though some of the games in 2's section seem to be the ones reused from 1)

When people say "sterilized" they mean using the normal style (so things are on-model and share the same design across games).
Mario Party wasn't quite as bad with it as Paper Mario, but there were some oddities (like Bowser's Clown Car being modeled after Paper Mario rather than its usual appearance).

I don't know if I want this to succeed or to fail. I just kind of want them to put it on the Switch, with good boards.

What does this series have against Donkey Kong? He was there from the beginning, but they've been replacing him whenever they could for over half the series

Petey Piranha replaces the regular Piranha Plant in the piranha chase minigame from MP1 and Bowser Jr replaces Koopa Kid anywhere Koopa Kid was supposed to be in the old games

DK was playable in MP10 and Star Rush (with Diddy too) but they gutted him here because they decided DK minigames should be included in the compilation

As for Junior, the series phased out Koopa Kid after 7 and Junior's been Bowser's right hand man in this series ever since. I'm actually kinda surprised since he's only in one minigame in this game (the final boss one from MP4)

I'm glad that some of the better Mario parties got more games, but I'm surprised they didn't put ten mini games from each Mario party to avoid bias.

I'd prefer bias, I don't really give a shit about the Wii era games.

I can do without 4, that was their first time experimenting with GC hardware and aside from some minigames it was pretty ehhhhhhhh.

MP5 has some good ideas and boards, but pretty bad execution (especially how orbs work). I said 6 because it basically takes 5's ideas, refines them, and adds boards with rules other than "reach the star"

Fair enough. I mostly love 4 because I never got another Mario Party after it. And the Volleyball minigame was very fun with my siblings.
