You get so many options for avoiding damage. Dodge/block/ranged weapons/armor/magic that actually slows enemies down/living armor. Enemies' tells are also blatantly obvious, stop being greedy. Use trinkets for status effects.

Human enemies have the same poise as you. Monsters can be hit until they run out of stamina and then are stunned every hit.

Hit them in the head, use magic/ninja items, use grapples, use finishers.
You can even just one shot many enemies with ranged weaponry headshots before a fight starts.

The flux skill is pure shit and unfun. Flux II is annoying as all shit.

I don't remember many enemies in DS2 having hyperarmour.

Now DS3, that was some bullshit. Hyperarmour kicks in after like 4 hits for every enemy for some reason.

Hyper armour is different from poise.

The problem with DaS2's enemies was infinite poise before it was patched, especially the DLC enemies.

You shouldn't use it "actively". It's more like a bonus, best used when you dodge away and then switch stance.

Honestly it's one of the 3 complaints i have with this game:
-Ennemies, even random trash mobs, do crazy damage
- The level design is crap, the umi-bozu one being the worst, i mean "putting huge onis in narrow hallways with no space to move but this time with pits everywhere" was fairly stupid
- The skill learning menu being really unintuitive

Tecmo has been trash since Ninja Gaiden 2 when Itagaki went full retard. It never recovered since then.

The hardest part of Souls games are the bosses, and in Nioh they're all gimmicky and easy enough to beat once you realise the strategy you're supposed to use. The average mook is easy to dash behind, wail on, then dash behind when it responds to repeat.

Pro tip: Get the ki pulse on dash ability to make fights even easier.

Been playing this since it came to PC, and yeah the difficulty doesn't feel fun like Dark Souls. If you make a mistake you're not punished, you're dead. The bosses are OP, but then so are you. It's stupid easy to charge super saiyan mode so the point I did it twice on the dog boss and killed him with that alone.
Balance in this game is fucked, just like it is in Diablo.

In Way of the Samurai, sure. In way of the strong or higher, unless you're wearing some of the more defensive medium armor, you get 2-3 hits.

In Way of the Nioh everything is a 1 shot kill in light armor a 1-2 shot kill in medium armor. And a 1-3 shot kill in heavy armor. The DLC bosses in the abyss are straight aids.

Low stance has fast low damaging attacks but can't break guard for shit. Dodging in low stance gives you nothing but side steps.
Should be only used on slow enemies or when you drain a Yokai's Ki. Then you stun lock them for massive damage.
Block. Hell, Get the Endless Ki Passive on armor and block all day.

I never found Das2 bad but frigid outskirts was a pain in the ass followed by a shit boss

I'm a casual wageslave and even I beat this game. It's all about enemy attack patterns. Since there's not that many in the first place, you just need to memorize them and be patient.

One criticism I have is the areas are bland as fuck.

And they're all done in this labyrinth type of way so you spend more time trying to explore them thus padding the gamelength.

DS1 and DS2 are mostly equal, both do certain things better and both have lots of janky parts.

I disliked Das2 regardless of anyone elses opinion. I play the games for pve and das2 just happen to have the worst.
There are a lot of things I miss like power stance, bonfire asthetics etc.
