Is there a point in buying this now?
I havent had a nintendo console before and this can play huge parts of their library including BOTW and its super cheap ow?

You'd be better off getting a Wii and a Switch unless you really want to play Mario Maker.
I don't see why not.
Do you want game recommentdations for it?
Say a genre or some other criteria and I can give a few
Gamecube, wii, and n64 are all better than wiiu
Depends how cheap you can find one. Get a good size SD card or external HDD, and hack it, and you've got yourself a NES, SNES, N64, GC emulator, that can play pirated Wii U games. Don't get BOTW on this shit though- the Wii U version fucking sucks.
they stopped making them didnt they? i dont think you can find them cheap now.
Also a DS and GBA emulator.
i thought the Wii U version ran better than the switch?
lol dear god no. It's an inconsistent 20fps, and at points becomes a fucking slideshow - Death Mountain, Korok Forest, and any towns are borderline unplayable. The Switch version is a stable 30fps in handheld and for the most part a stable 30fps docked after being patched, with only a few exceptions.
>Don't get BOTW on this shit though- the Wii U version fucking sucks.
Hey, free DLC though.
No, Switch version runs much better.
I've tried both though, and the Wii U version is perfectly playable too
>mfw playing skies of acaida on the wii-u pad
homebrewing the wii-u was one of the best decisions i have made in awhile.
Do I need to hack it to emulate or just for free games?
for both.
go to /hbg/ for info, it's not hard
You need to hack it for both.
It's not hard at all though, and there are plenty of guides
Are all models and firmwares hackable?
I actually like a lot of games for it and I always end up getting another. It's not on purpose. I thought I was ready to let the thing collect dust after BOTW, but Monster Hunter World looked interesting and it's coming to PC, so I decided to get 3U for Wii U.
I consider the system a failure, but here I am still playing it.
This is the Nintendo console to own. Ignore the shitposters.
Everything on it is free because it is one of the easiest consoles to hack.
It already has a fantastic library of games, with stuff like SSB4, Splatoon, Super Mario 3D World, Bayonetta 2, Yoshi's Woolly World, Xenoblade Chronicles 2,
Breath of the Wild, and a lot more. But you can play even more through hacking. It has native support for Wii and Gamecube games (better than emulation), and virtual console support for every other Nintendo platform except the Virtual Boy and 3DS. The Gamepad is surprisingly comfortable for my hands, and everyone I know enjoys using the Pro Controller. The system has an official Gamecube adapter that was made for SSB4, but I mostly use it when I'm playng Gamecube games through Nintendont.
The Wii U is probably the most used platform in my house despite having a decent gaming PC, a PS4, and a Switch. It's seriously fucking fantastic and it is a travesty that it sold so poorly because the games it had were fantastic and it just did so many things right.
>Wii U
>Super cheap
I hacked mine this week. Yoshi's Woolly World is really great.
>You'd be better off getting a Wii
Wii U can play all Wii games
$200 to get an official refurb from Nintendo, even cheaper if you find it elsewhere. Also you can pirate any game on the system you want.
Nice meme.
