If you think XV is one of the eorst ypu haven't played a lot of FFs, it's somewhere in the middle in terms of quality.

It's the FF8 of its time.

It's okay. It's better than 2 and XIII but otherwise yeah it's one of the worst.

VIII is great though. XV definitely is not.

FF died when Ito semi-retired. They're never going to be like the pre-XIII games again, and there's a good chance they won't have XIII's strengths either long as Square is trying to appeal to normies.

FFXV is proof of how much important details are. The combat IS good, for a action rpg of course, but the fact that there's almost no feeling of impact when you hit enemies and specially when you get hit by the enemies makes the whole thing feels bad.


Overall, i like it, a solid 8/10 i would say.

depends on how much. The gameplay is slow, boring, and mainly consists of Holding O with the occasional item use and L1+R1 press.

The game does allow you to buy advanced skills but the game is so fucking easy they are not needed at all and do no damage

If you have a somewhat decent PC you could just pirate it in a few months or refund it if you don't like it. The combat isn't the worst thing ever, but it's more style over substance and it really doesn't evolve much. You'll do the same combos and warp strikes early in the game all the way till the end and few group skills to mix it up and make you invincible for muliple seconds.

My gf likes it. It's a game marketed towards women, why are you even playing it?

Have you played either rerelease? Ito was distracted during vanilla and left the team make a lot of design decisions on their own. IZJS is when he got hands on and polished it to a shine.

No. DLC and patches can't match rereleases in terms of positive changes, and XV has a ton of core problems like hold to dodge, shit hitstun and the weapons being terrible.

I played vanilla XII and IZJS. The rerelease is a definite improvement but it's still only an okay game.

Did you even play XI? Outside of surface-level similarities they played very differently.

Every track we heard up until late 2014 imo. After that the tracks sounded like they took a different direction. Overall still good but it sounds so thrown together and like most of the newer tracks just wanted to be over the top orchestra instead of trying to convey something or fit the moot

It's one of the very few FF's that have superbosses who aren't just HP sponges, weapon classes that all have something to offer, offensive magic being useful endgame, and a higher difficulty mode. Just getting rid of that retarded damage cap was a huge improvement.

Great story, characters, and music, and visuals. But mostly it's the characters and music, it had a really strong ending which left a big impression on me. The gameplay is a mess(and i heavily prioritize gameplay) but what can you do? It has some brilliant moments in the craziness of it.

The biggest sin the game commits is the RETARDED QUE sections that have you holding down a button for an extended period of time, i won't defend those because those are complete garbage.

Overall i really enjoyed it, It felt like a very personal game at the end, albeit it was messy and confused in the middle.

Yeap, you have various methods of dealing damage either through the weapons you use or warping or through magic or through party tech commands, there is plenty of defensive abilities too like dodge roll or blink cancels, or impervious hit recoveries and so on, the more you put into it the more you get out.
