Boss is immune to status effects

>Boss is immune to status effects

>monsters are immune to certain elemental damage types
>your character can only use that element

>Boss is immune to status effects
>Boss applies multiple status effects on you at once

>Boss applies multiple status effects on your whole team at once

>boss is immune to magic
>game gives you all magic users and one hybrid character who you didn't bother to fucking level because he was an annoying little shit that you didn't want to look at
Thanks Lost Odyssey

Is this a FFX thread?

>fight boss with one party member
>boss has OHKO move
>its not a scripted loss

>Boss has no weaknesses
>Boss has multiple resistances

>use scan

>name; unknown
>health; unknown
>weaknesses; unknown

Fuck, this.

>can't combat

>Party Member refuses to fight the boss

I hated FFX for that. Endgame made 90% of all skills and magic obsolete.

>NPC teams with party because of a personal grudge against the boss

In SMTIV and SMTIV:A, seemingly every boss is a immune status effects, making you wonder why you would ever get a status skill.

NPC dies during boss fight

ENDLESS TRASH

>boss is immune during certain attack sequences

Stat effects are shit anyway. All stat effects should be linked to an attack
>Do poison stat effect
>It deals 13 damage for 3 turns
>I could just attack the guy and do 30 damage every single turn

>Boss ISN'T immune to status effects

>game gives you a Death spell
>it only works on regular monsters
>with a 60% success rate
>easier to just kill them with physical attacks for free

>only enemies vulnerable to status effects are easy enough that putting status effects on them is a waste of time

>boss breaks new ground

Based SMT

>boss hides behind summoned minions, only exposes himself after they are defeated

>boss applauds you for being different

>Different dialogue before a boss fight depending on which party members you choose, as they all hate the boss for unique reasons

>Boss isn't immune to status effects
>Devs are too retarded to balance it
>Makes the game ridiculously easy

>boss have powers over the sun and sends it crashing into your party
>900 damage

>boss summons adds
>adds can heal the boss and stunlock you

THAT'S RIGHT JAY

>boss posts the same thread every day

This. Why does every fucking game do this?!

> boss adds you on Sup Forums

>1 item trivialize the entire boss fight

How do you fucking defeat this asshole ?????

I remember the death spell in chrono trigger being really useful for big groups of enemies.

> game has a sleep spell
> it actually works on pretty much everyone so you can beat the fuck out of everything

most difficult fight in the game
still easy

>Boss has 2 henchmen that you have to defeat first

>boss is an evil version of you

>son is immune to my cummies

>boss casts reflect on itself and your whole party
>heal spells reflect to the boss
>casting them on the boss instead reflects it to a random party member

>boss is a good version of you

>Boss is weak to one status effect
>It's the status effect you learn from an item that you have 1:1,000,000,000 chance of getting that early in the game

>not being an evil version of yourself

>you fight the final boss in the intro
WTF

>every status effect can work against the final boss

>boss steals your items

This shit pisses me off

Whats the point of status effects if they never work on bosses.

Fucking Persona

>boss doesn't fight you, becomes your ally instead

>Get skill that boosts your damage against enemies/bosses suffering status effects
>Get an special status effect
>Skill doesnt work with special status effect

This must be bait.

If not, please leave.

>boss uses a super powerful weapon during fight
>he drops it when defeated and you pick it up

>boss is immune to cheat codes
>boss deletes you're save file if he detects you hooked any cheating program to the game

>Boss tries to sell you shit mid-battle

>it was the secret boss which is the hardest enemy in the game
WHATS THE FUCKING POINT

Kathwack is pretty useful in Dragon Quest since you can fight like 8+ enemies at once in the recent games, and it hits everything. Usually kills 4 or 5 out of 8.

>basic enemy can steal large amounts of money from you

>defeat boss
>they join your party
>they're now 10% as strong as they were when they fought you
>they're weaker than your fucking joke character who you never levelled

>Undead Enemy
>Can be damaged by HEALING spells.
>Can be healed by "DARK" spells.

That's my fuckin' jam.

name 1 game that does this

>Boss joins your party
>Only their max health changed
>The rest of their stats and abilities are still retardedly broken

>drop boss's health to 0
>he's a little winded, gives a quick speech and runs away

>Boss uses special skill that can drop your entire party's HP to 1
>Defeat boss, joins your party
>Special skill barely even affects enemy monsters

...

>you can taunt the boss
>it pisses him off and he gets harder

> boss drops best weapon of the game if you're carrying a few books

>boss is way cooler than your characters and you wish you could play as him but never will

I got your reference and I clapped!

[macca beam]

ff7 some cunt in midgar can steal ANY item from you

>Boss taunts you every 5 feet on your way to their dungeon
>Absolutely stomp boss in seconds upon arrival

>boss confesses he knew he was wrong after being defeated
>in his last dying breath he admits he just wanted to be loved

>boss is your dad

>and has a genuinely disturbing death cut scene despite the game generally being light hearted horror themed action

I maintain that this is a FFX thread

Dokapon Kingdom

>Reduce boss to 0 hp
>He refuses to die and keeps fighting

>singeplayer game has no effort put into to balance itself, so you can make a bunch of batshit insane gimmick builds

>Kill boss
>Victory screen comes up
>Boss transforms and rips the victory screen in half initiating phase two

What game?

>boss is immune to literally everything in the final stage and can only be defeated by doing one very specific thing

Borderlands The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned

> take control of your mortal enemy
> sonic the hedgehog-esque music starts playing

Donkey Kong

>boss skips his turn to charge up an attack
>have your whole party defend
>the charge up takes two turns and all your buffs run out because you wasted two turns defending
>attacking him enough while he charges actually stuns him for multiple turns

Kid Icarus Rising

>final boss is a quick time event

Kid Icarus Uprising

I want a new MGR just to play this guy

hello cecil
also
>boss one shots entire party every time

That song was goofy as hell but it made me smile. I liked how they worked the Bowser guitar riff from Mario 64 into it

>boss is immune to all forms of damage

None that I've played, but it's an idea for my own game

>let friend try to beat hard boss you've been stuck on for weeks
>he beats it first try

>Boss is invincible godlike entity that you're supposed to die to
>Game doesn't tell you that
>Waste a good portion of your items before realizing you have to die to progress

>Have to go to all four corners of the globe to get the special boss weakening items to make boss vulnerable
>When you finally have them all and get back the boss fight is extremely underwhelming

>One shot boss you're supposed to lose to because you spent hours grinding
>Cut scene plays where your party is defeated and the boss has won
