I enjoy the fighting in DoA and think the controversy surrounding holds is overblown by people who act like their online play needs to be tournament rules and generally the game has been memed into having a worse image as a fighting game than it deserves, especially considering the leap made with the series during the DoA5 series of games.

I thought the gameplay was really fun, more than any recent fighting game i played, but i am not that interested in fighting games and play them very casually. I only bought the game because of Ninja Gaiden and to get more of my wife Kasumi, which i ended up not liking from a gameplay style perspective :(
