it's more of a gta clone with a focus on hand to hand combat but it's pretty enjoyable. the combat feels pretty satisfying and the and the story is basically just a hong kong action movie plot

Really wish we could have seen a sequel. Not sure if I'd want more guns or not, because that would detract from the hand to hand combat aspect.

That's one thing I didn't care for Most of the game is spent without the awesome characters we were introduced to in the first couple hours Seriously, if you play it again, you spend more time after the "wedding" not really having anyone to fill the void those dead people left. It feels almost empty to play the rest of the game. It's still good after that, but who were we supposed to grow as a character with if not... the wedding people. I don't know, I wish they'd have had that part further into the game.

Nah, everyone dying isn't good for that reason. Wei was spared because of the 'friendship' he made with the lady crimeboss. Some people dying is understandable. Nearly half the main characters in the story dying, not really.

Just beat this recently it was a fun ride. The DLC campaigns were also pretty cool too.

That's kinda the point. Wei is a cop and starts to get attached to the gang he is involved with. I liked that he was undercover, it was neat seeing him pulled in different directions. Making him another full on criminal would devalue this game and the experience it offers. It would just be another GTA clone.

GTA5 was a beast, nothing could compete against it despite how bland it is. But Sleeping Dogs 2 could have easily beaten so many other sandbox games on the market like Mafia 3, both Watch Dogs 1 and 2, and even Saints Row at being the next best AAA open world game to play. he fact that SE is funding a movie instead of a sequel frustrates me because vidya movies are almost always trash. I'll see it anyways in hopes it shows people want a sequel but it probably wont feel the same if it has a different studio behind it.

Nah, an expanded Sleeping Dogs sequel would have easily beat GTA. The game already had the driving and open world aspect down. Also had the story aspect down. It didn't really need guns as it as its combat system was pretty fleshed out and infinitely superior to GTA. So much of the game felt much more satisfying than both GTA IV and V too.

I dont mean that in terms of quality gameplay, 4 and 5 were bland as fuck with shitty movement controls. I mean in terms of sales.
