I really tried but i can't get into this garbage

One of the worst videogame i've ever played

What's the problem man?

The first one is slightly dated in some respects as they were trying something completely insane and unique that could have easily bombed.

I think just have fun with the story and settings, look forward to meeting new friends.

The Gameplay in Kh always evolves and becomes more fluid the more you progress so keep at it.

It's a fun series with lots of fan service and convoluted but fun story.

> have fun with the story
That's my problem, i fucking hate it

it was fun in middle school
lmao i wanted to fuck kairi so bad then
then the newest one came out and i want to fuck her again
its come full circle

MAXIE
THE DARKNESS

i never really got the appeal of it, i tried to get into it so many times, but the combat is just so bad and the characters so cringy

I think this game got me into redheads

The first game's ending is pure kino.

Then you need to play more games.

spam re-worded each time is still spam. ban this nigger's IP

I'm just buying KH3 to trash more about the series and the autistic fanbase.
Shitting in this series si so fun

1 is probably really dated at this point
I loved 2, but I was also like 11 years old, it probably has way better gameplay but people hate the Roxas part apparently
Also, you're gonna play a Disney JRPG and then complain that its cringey? Did you really expect some sort of deep story or dialogue??

Should have ended the series with the second game.

>The first game's ending is pure kino.

WHEN YOU WALK AWAY.

first one's really bad.
recently finished kh2 final mix though, good shit.

Weak bait

Are you a scrawny white guy?

How can you guys enjoy this thing?

God the abruptness and volume make it hysterical.

>hysterical.

Hysterically crying? Because I know I did. I even thought about my childhood crush whilst it played.

If you go back to them, KH1 is generally the better experience. KH2 is only better if you go full autismo about the combat system, and by that point you may as well just go pick up a proper action game instead. The poor level design and shittier mob combinations make casual play and even just a Critical Playthrough for someone who doesn't have a huge boner for the way the game plays an absolute slog.

Most of the actual story takes place in the last world though. Everything between is pieces and filler.

I'd say a good 85% of meaningful story is in Hollow Bastion

Well, it's not your thing. Just move on, it's that easy

lmao yeah its pretty bad

Honestly I don't think any game in the series has matched the level design and general presentation of Hollow Bastion from KH1. Made you feel as though shit got real and despite being hard to navigate through it was so satisfying to beat.

It's all cutscenes. What little combat there is is completely superficial. I wouldn't say it's the worst, but it's highly overrated.

Weird how Sora's parents never ask about him. Did they died when that giant Heartless showed up?

>
nO

And now compare that to the "epic" final levels in Birth By Sleep. The series really went downhill after the first game.

Playing Re: Chain of Memories. How do I git gud?

KH1 has some foibles in level design, but on the whole it had the right idea. The combination of mobs and varying terrain and some platforming allowed for more situational combat without resorting to QTEs and cut down on both long stretches of nothing to run across and absurd spawn rates...sometimes. It could have really used ironing out, but most of KH2 goes for big ol hallways and wide open spaces instead, making everything a lot less engaging. And then BBS took the worst of both worlds and gave you tiny areas with nothing to do.

checked
also same

I swear it's been the same guy making these kingdom hearts threads for the past few days.

>A KH thread where people are talking about the individual strengths and weaknesses of the games rationally instead of screeching "muh critical mode" and telling everyone that KH2 is perfect if you git gud and everything else sucks.

Where the fuck am I

KH2 was alright but the World that Never Was, was a bit medicore and consisted manly of cutscenes and gimmick bosses.

Though the ending of KH2 and the presentation of the battles against Xemnas saved it. Sanctuary playing with Roxas made me tear up a bit.

I think the combat is KH1 can be argued to be better since it felt like your attacks actually had weight to them. Made it feel as though you needed to time your attacks better instead of just button mashing.

get better cards.

This is third KH thread made today. It has to be the same person.

It has too be. Just all of a sudden for the past month, there has been the same hate thread for Kingdom Hearts. It can't be a coincidence.

How long is COME anyway?

I'm still disappointed it wasn't as cool as the KH2 trailer. Just give me a whole game as metal Batman.

I agree with this sentiment. You can't do as many siccccc combos, but sometimes simpler is more satisfying.

And Xemnas was a lot of fun. As a kid I thought you could only hit triangle for the laser barrage and the moment was meant to be Riku's big moment, deflecting as many as possible while the game sets Sora to 1hp no matter what.

What you're actually supposed to do is way less cool.

No

20 hours? Maybe 30 if you add Reverse Rebirth.

I'd recommend playing it on GBA. The whole system is built around the cramped GBA screen and it has excellent sprite art.

KH2FM is a fantastic game with a slew of fantastic boss fights that's how.

but the story

>I agree with this sentiment. You can't do as many siccccc combos, but sometimes simpler is more satisfying.

Yeah, the combat was trivialized somewhat with the steamlining of the game along with the platforming by making it so Sora had incredibly fluid movement.

Ansem Riku was a good example of the combat being good. Timing your combos was important since he could easily break out of them with Dark Aura.

It's a shame that charm is lost in the new games but it does make KH1 more special in my eyes.

>And Xemnas was a lot of fun. As a kid I thought you could only hit triangle for the laser barrage and the moment was meant to be Riku's big moment, deflecting as many as possible while the game sets Sora to 1hp no matter what.

That actually would've been really cool and a nice contrast to how Riku get's beat up afterwards and Sora saves him.

9/10 it's okay.

There's a lot of bosses I didn't care for, like Scar and Xaldin.

What about it? Don't tell me you are playing these games for the story.

>Xaldin

Don't tell me you just mashed X.

Of course, what the fuck is a game without a story?

They'll just ban evade

A game. What is a game without gameplay?

When is KFC selling a coleslaw crusher?

>What is a game without gameplay?

A miserable little pile of gameplay mechanics. But enough story, have at you!

>kh shitpost thread starts
>thread turns into people actually talking about the game
Everytime. When will they learn. If you want people that take every bait you should go into FF threads

Every videogame before the mid 80's

>KH1 is generally the better experience
>that awkward scene direction
>Disney characters drop all semblence of their source material's flavor and personality past Traverse Town
>clunky combat
>clunky ""platforming""
>cramped rooms

KHII is simply better.

Bought a 4 pack for 7.50 during a sale and gifted it to 3 friends, only have a few hours logged because of how little content there was.

>2d "exploration"
>abysmal combat
>inferior building to minecraft

Genuinely feels like this game's fans are hipsters who hate minecraft/mainstream games and give it extra points because muh indie developer. If I didn't buy this for people I would have asked for a refund.

>KHII is simply better.

KH2 streamlines the combat and platforming but as a result makes it more uninspired and repetitive.

Not that KH2 is a bad game but just that KH1 has a charm to it that's lost in the newer iterations.

>KH1 has a charm
It's called nostalgia

>That actually would've been really cool and a nice contrast to how Riku get's beat up afterwards and Sora saves him.
Which is exactly why I thought it was intentional as a child. It seemed like perfect choreography. Sora gets wrecked earlier in the fight, Riku has to defend him at the very end, gets wrecked in turn, and Sora has to set up the finisher with just a single hit point left.

The actual way it's supposed to go is far less climactic.

No, I just don't like bosses who fuck off like that unless they've got something interesting going on.

It's nothing about him being difficult, just fucking annoying.

Not that user, but I played KH2 first and found 1 to be far more fun.

It's called people having different opinions and priorities than you.

KHII is much more charming. Compare any given scene in a Disney world from KH1 to one in KHII.

All the characters are more animated, the Disney characters are truer to themselves, there's an actual feeling of a lighthearted adventure, the interactions with SDG are FAR superior.

It even flows into gameplay with Limits, like dancing with Jack or high-fiving Aladdin, Stitch climbing onto the screen and all of Genie's animations.

I checked out of the series after 2. I heard the plot went off the wall since than. Can somebody give me a summary of what is happening?

I could, but that's 8 RPGs' worth of story so I won't

youtu.be/xm-NoyqzGkY

Have fun.

Tl;dr, some people are Sora, and some people are Xehanort.

>Compare any given scene in a Disney world from KH1 to one in KHII.
I like how you had to say "in a Disney world" so I couldn't compare the first two hours of either game nor the final areas.

But how about the two versions of Halloween Town? The two versions of Atlantica? Can we compare Hollow Bastion to Beast's Castle?

youtube.com/watch?v=xvdjkg0-s5w

Everyone is either Sora, Ventus, or Xehanort. Everyone. Except the girls.

I wanted to fuck Riku back then. Now I want to fuck him again.

Don't forget how each room you enter has the camera facing Sora from the front for no god damn good reason.

The story gets serious in the original worlds so there isn't as much charm and fun there.
Obviously.

And it's easier to see the difference when comparing like worlds. Aladdin in KHII is completely different from Aladdin in KH1.
Even the first scene he's in, there's so much more personality there.

In KH1, most of the Disney characters feel more like normal RPG NPCs but they happen to be wearing costumes of beloved animated classics.

>start Clayton 2
>camera is facing Sora because ???
>Clayton immediately uses his shotgun, which you can't see coming
>die
Great game

Every time I replay one that camera angle bugs the crap out of me. There is also one part when you have to fight a behemoth toward the end and camera is set up to face you when you enter. So you turn around and immediately this giant behemoth crash lands on you.

And, why does Sora not care about them?
He just forgets them like an old phone.

I agree with this.

Something about the GBA just makes the game flow much better.

They get consumed like everyone else. All we know is
>Sora's mom calls out to him for dinner in KH1
>world is consumed mere hours later
>Sora's mom and dad aren't seen in Twilight town so it is safe to say they didn't make it out of Destiny Islands
>world is restored in the end
>a few days to weeks go by before Sora finishes in Castle Oblivion
>due to the chain of memories being broken everyone linked to sora forgets him including his parents
>year goes by and Sora awakens
>spends unknown amount of time doing KH2's plot
>goes home afterwards
So his parents wouldn't know where he was for maybe a month total at most. The bigger question is why Sora and Riku show no concern about their families. Hell even Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie are mourned but their parents aren't.

What's with the slew of KH hate threads recently?

I don't know, I find Deep Dive more charming than Twilight Town.
And Destiny Island is more charming as well.
And Traverse Town is more charming and cozy than Radiant Garden.
And I feel charm is more than just sweet feelings. There's more charm to End of the World than The World that Never Was, Riku's sacrifice compared to Axel's, etc.

You're talking about advancements in animation. user's talking about the game as a whole, and I agree with him.

I think it went on sale recently so I imagine a few anons that are new to the series are just buttblasted. Glad I wasn't the only one that notices they keep popping up.

Less travel time and missed hits.

The villain's name is literally No Heart X.
This is the shit you're dealing with here.
You should have no expectations for the story.

KH is far from one of the worst games.
Here's your (You)

I think that Disney and Sqeenix were going to make this like an "every child" character, or some kind of dream, but then reneged on it.

I had this feeling in the whole game of KH1 was meant to be some type of children's fantasy or dream. Compound this with Sora's mom calling out to him for dinner. It's thematically and theatrically jarring.

Well I'm talking about the whole game, too. Everything about KHII is more polished and charming.

Frankly, KH1 feels almost without effort in comparison. It tries a lot of things, none of them work particularly well, and even though it was highly polished for 2002, it still falls to several traps of design and direction which result in that dated feeling.

For a long time I agreed with everyone that KHII had a weaker story. But having recently gone through them both again, actually watching the cutscenes (most recent playthroughs have been rushed trophy runs), KHII's scenes are just... BETTER. The characters feel more alive and real. The dialogue is better. The worlds look more like worlds instead of levels. The music is better.
Everything about the game is just more engaging.

It's no wonder to me now that even as a kid I would always play KHII over KH1, despite how much I loved the first game.
I've even played CoM more than KH1 at this point.

I can agree with some points from a design aspect and I think you're right. We only differ on a few points.

>For a long time I agreed with everyone that KHII had a weaker story.
I think that KH2 has weaker writing in general as I think that it fits much less in Disney. But! I agree that the scenes were better scripted and better done in KH2. The basic premise is a little more weak than in KH1.

> The worlds look more like worlds instead of levels.
I think I disagree as the worlds look more like their source material and locations in the movies. KH1 level design tends to lend itself more to exploration rather than to battle. Hollow Bastion is a piece of crap in KH1 though. Overall, KH2 is more streamlined and a better overall experience than KH1

I KNOW NOW

KINGDOM HEARTS IS

The thing I liked more about KH1 was how there was useless space and openness. KH2 felt way more condensed and as a result made me feel like I was just on a quick ride at disneyland rather than actually being in those cool worlds. Plus since they couldn't just retread the same stories twice the stories in 2 just tend to be a lot weaker in general. The Disney worlds are my least favorite part of KH2. Also I really liked the platforming in 1.
KH2 had a fucking awesome combat system, though. I played Final Mix recently and the Organization XIII boss fights are some of my favorite bosses in any game ever.

DELAYED

LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT

HA!

...

I feel the same way. The story's great, but in-between every world actually related to the main plot, you have to fight through three worlds of filler.

That, and it takes like an hour to finish the damn introductions in one and two.

It is. They always follow the same pattern. Best way to counter this is to just start talking about the games like people are doing. It's the best anti-shitpost ammo you can have on this board.

Bad guy made back up plans for his back up plans and now he has to get serious with the final one.

I imagine it's just one autist triggered that people like things he doesn't.

>One of the worst videogame i've ever played

Every time, EVERY time someone says this on Sup Forums, it always exposes how inexperienced at video games they are. If Kingdom fucking Hearts is the worst game you've ever played then you haven't played jack shit and your opinion is worthless.
