Is every fucking fight in this game going to be a 10-minute endurance test where you land a single hit then back the fuck away or am I just not understanding something? My damage against her is pathetic even with living weapon and even though I put most of my levels into body she can still kill me when I get stunned. Can you play more aggressively or not?

From someone who beat it on PS4 and is replaying it on PC, it has fun gameplay but lacks variety and gets very repetitive. I hear it gets super grindy in the post game too. Enemy designs are alright, bosses aren't so great mostly, but the gameplay really saves the game if you can tolerate repetition.

Are you talking about Hino-Enma? You should be dodging her attacks and knowing when to attack between her end-frame of her previous attack and the start-frame of the next attack. When you're dodging anything that looks like it's a paralyzing move, make sure you double-tap it so that you sidestep->roll.

Other than that, carry a few of the antiparalysis needles and you should be good to go. I had trouble with her during my first run but I one-shot her in the second run. She has very distinguishable startup attack patterns so you should eventually get there as long as you're never getting hit.

I've been running with 2kat and low stance light attacks have been the way to go. Sometimes I spice it up with poison buff from the ninjitsu tree.

For batbitch, she's fast so you got to attack fast and dodge. Dodge her attack and follow up with a few pokes then fall back.

When does low stance, light attack kusarigama spam stop working, and what do I do once it does?

If you get lucky a stone will knock her out of the air, but dont do it unless you've just already dodged an attack

Good thing that you haven't touched a Souls game. People who go through all three Dark Souls games get used to the slow and methodical combat and then immediately get chomped up by the first few bosses in Nioh.

I've played through all three dark souls and I've been doing pretty much the same tactics with Nioh without much trouble.

It's still baiting enemies then attacking when they're open. Keeping on the bosses asses from behind and attacking between attacks, baiting attacks and waiting for humans to run low on stamina before pushing the offense, etc.

There really hasn't been that much of a difference besides Nioh offering a larger assortment of attack styles, with low light attacks seeming to be the best due to fast attacks, quick buildup of status and great evasion.

Yeah, it's unfortunate how just keeping right out of melee range the whole fight breaks a lot of bosses.

That being said I heard the DLC added way more challenging content so I'm hoping for bosses that actually make you flux and use those awesome weapon skills just to beat them; rather than annihilate them.

Why do all of the revenants I fight just block until I switch to high stance? Even then they don't stop blocking and I get a free crit since they run out of ki.

If a revenant is spamming low stance attacks on you just walk up to them without guard up, guard immediately when you're in range, let them hit, drop guard, wait a split second, guard again, and just keep doing it until they wear themselves out and you can stagger them with one bunt to the face.

The timing is kind of weird and I hope I described it well enough, but it's a godsend when you don't feel like dealing with another fucking dualkat.

Fact is stamina has no place in action games. Giving enemies a stamina bar is dumb, making the enemy stamina visible to the player is really fucking dumb.

Honestly for most bosses I find low stance is most effective, just because you can wail on them, dodge the attack by dodging into them, and continue wailing on them. I use mid stance the most overall in levels, and only really use high stance to finish off enemies or burn their ki.

Is there an actual non cheesy way of beating Moon Shiggy or are you really supposed to walk up to him to have him start his autist sword spam and back away until he's out of stamina so you can crit him over and over until he dies?

He has infinite poise so breaking through his attacks is impossible, blocking means he'll just guard break you in two hits and instagib you, dodging just means he'll track you to all hell and some of his attacks' hurtbox last longer than your iframes, you also can't combo because despite you having a two second hitstun(one second if you press block) he can instantly block again after an attack no matter how quick the next one follows.

Hino-enma is probably one of the most tedious, and least fun bosses of the game. Her attack chains go on forever and you only get a few short openings. Even Nue is a better experience with the arena providing some spice to the fight.
