So I think this was the he better Mario Switch exclusive

So I think this was the he better Mario Switch exclusive.

Is there something wrong with me?

No but more importantly how will Mario ever recover?

Through turn based combat

It was a surprisingly competent game despite Rabbids being the worst fucking thing ever.
Image if they crossed over with Rayman or virtually anything else.
Probably would have been far better received.

I just got back to it after finishing Odyssey and I'm really enjoying it. Just started the 4th area. I unironically want a sequel or a new DLC campaign.

How long is this game? I've never played this type before either.

Same. A sequel with more playable characters would be amazing

If you want to do all the challenges and get perfect ratings on everything it's fairly long. A lot of that time is restarting battles though after you realize you made a mistake, if you don't like that kind of autism it may not be for you

Like it more than Odyssey.

Which is weird as I hate rabbids

Rabbid Mario is surprisingly enjoyable. I went in fully expecting to hate all the rabbid characters but damn if the smug shotgun bruiser thing didn't win me over.

Mario/Rabbid Mario/Peach best team.

Would have been so much better if it was just the Rayman cast crossing over with Mario to fight the Rabbids

>double close range
Mario/Luigi/Rabid Mario is good but currently trying Mario/Peach/Rabid Yoshi and it's going well you can probably beat the game with anything but doubling up on shotgun users triggers my tism

if he runs out of turns will he die?

Exactly.
there isn't even any fucking normal Mario enemies to fight.
How the fuck could they have passed that up?

probably just wanted to focus on the stuff that made it different and you know they don't have unlimited time to make games, but yea that could have been cool.

After seeing the first boss being rabbid kong I was disappointed the next one had nothing to do with a Mario character, can't really complain about the phantom though but still I was hoping to see more bosses based on Mario characters

Bump

I think theyre both great.

My favourite thing about M+R is how it made the movement part of turn based strategy wayyyyy more engaging and interesting. The movement combos you can do in this game make it totally unique in this genre. Instead of being slow and steady like most games like this I was fucking zooming around the map with team jumps and shit and flanking everything in a single turn.

I fucking love Odyssey too though.

A lot of them don't have hands. They can't even wield guns!

Is this the new contrarian trend to dislike Odyssey now because "muh charm"?

I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of Odyssey, it was the 64 sequel I always wanted. I find it hard to compare a platformer to a strategy game, but I also was genuinely surprised with how goods Mario + Rabbids turned out to be.

Not really. You probably just like strategy games more than platfomers

>is how it made the movement part of turn based strategy wayyyyy more engaging and interesting
That's what put it over nu-xcom for me. Movement felt like it was just as important as actually fighting, sometimes more so and not just in escort missions.

Also I love this and Odyssey equally, both great games.

I think that mario kart 8 is the best switch game. Is something wrong with me?

So we all agree they could just do this game but more stuff but what's something new they could add beyond just characters/levels? How do you innovate on this?

Playable Wario on a motorcycle?
