Where I live (Chile) there isn't a rush to buy games at launch. I woke up at 5:30 AM to go to the store to buy Pokémon Diamond in 2007, and when the store opened at 8:00 AM I was the only person there.

I usually get free things if I buy a game in the week it's launched without having to preorder. I got a Nintendo sticker album when I bought Pokémon Diamond, the NDS Headphonemic when I bought Pokémon Black2 and a Mario keychain when I bought Odyssey.

That's the original game which also had an artbook on release, though it was pretty small. This was a seperate release that contained a lot more and with short stories.

Nah I think the combat is actually pretty good. It's heavily based in numbers like turn based RPGs, but works in realtime making you mindful of your placement. It's just that it's not really visually insane or anything. People see realtime combat and expect the characters to be jumping all over the place and shit when that's not really the case. Show anyone Final Fantasy 15's combat and Xenoblade combat and people will always choose 15, despite Xeno objectively having better combat.

Can you elaborate a little? I never got far into Xenoblade Chronicles and ended up dropping it. The same 3 lines of dialogue repeated 50 times during battle started to irritate me.

No not at all, the games aren't connected. It's just good to have some basic knowledge of the battle system like break-topple combos, the importance of positioning and so on before delving into X.

Xenoblade X is very obtuse in teaching you it's systems. You have to put in some elbow grease to research and learn things whether it's by tinkering as you go or looking it up. The battle dialogue thing is intrinsic to the Xenoblade series so that won't be going away either (they even integrated it into the battles as a main mechanic too). It's also virtually a completely different game from the first outside of sharing mechanical groundings in the battle system. The main story is rather shoestring, instead the focus is open-world exploration, world building, and kickass sidequests. The game hinges on your own sense of curiousity to take you places rather than a linear storyline.

That's some of the important things off the top of my head.
