I was thinking about getting Elex but I'm kind of bugged by the whole medieval looking shit mixed with advanced sci-fi stuff.
How does that work in game?

This is the game with Sweet FX and with a mod on Nexus for disabling fog.

The mix is far better then expected, it's very atmospheric and there's some lore making this setting interesting.

I liked this game a lot, I'll admit. But it's hard for me to find some other RPG that I can replace this with. Not into the witcher series / elder scrolls / fallout, already done them gothics / risen 1 and 3. I would probably want something isometric but still fairly action based, but I need some questing and decent story.

At the beginning you kinda hate it, then you get used to it. It's fairly explained.

Graphics of this game are okay but where it falls short is artstyle and concept arts.This is aesthetically worst game i've seen in a while

it's the best part of the game, honestly. setting is an attempt to recreate old gothic games without copying them, so you have new valuable material, various factions with different philosophies, and chaos that reverts society to stone age so everyone constantly wages a war with everyone

it's certainly not some super deep ghost in the shell stuff, but it's enough to make game really worth trying.

and one more thing, those 'medieval' guys can afford to be medieval because, in a way, they have the best technology when it comes to elex. under their medieval appearance and medieval society there is mana, which is basically something that allows you to utilize power of elex without losing yourself. so, berserkers are using swords against laser rifles not because they're retarded, but because they can afford to do so.

they are literally using magic to make their equipment not shit
they are actually the most technologically advanced faction in many ways

but yeah graphics is trash. It literally looks like original legend of zelda in some places
