It's actually really boring and derivative
This
It's worth even more OP trust me.
Towards the end it will get just a little bit annoying causing the game to go from a 10/10 down to a 9/10 though.
Amazing gameplay, perfect soundtrack, the graphics are very oldschool. The job system is pretty big and allows for tons of different combos.
>the virgin reply
VS
>the chad reasoning
No.
Shit felt like they had a budget for 10 hours long game but had to stretch it to 50.
Fantastic game
t. speedran the last half of the game disregarding all story and sidequests
Worth my $40 desu, best RPG in recent years.
sorry. it's shit.
deal with it.
Why do people insist on saying that it's worse than it is?
The shit part is maybe 1/5th of the ga.e not half, if you speedrun it, it will take half an hour to finish (tested myself), if you don't speedrun it you get to know more about the characters who have great personalities and are very lovable.
¥10 has been deposited into your account, though it's a shame they didn't use it to make some more content.
Why do people insist on saying that it's better than it is?
Its like 2 games in one. You play the first half then repeat it all again.
It starts out great. Then at certain point it gets super grindy and repetitive.
It's a steal at 25 dollars.
Assuming you like turn based RPGs of course.
Nice soundtrack, great gameplay, shit story and insufferable character.
If you're a gameplay fag this game is for you, if not just skip
it has the best bosses I've fought in a jrpg in a good long while. They actually have mechanics that require planning around and arent just a check to see if you have the right resistance and if you can outheal their damage like in smt games.
Such a stupid name. Why to they even try using English?
Easily one of my favorite jrpgs of all time
>Why do people insist on saying that it's better than it is?
Maybe because the people who say it's say that only because of that one part when that 30min part shouldn't make the entire game shit because it really isn't but you're oversimplifying stuff for the sake of shitposting?
t.brainlet who never figured out the meaning behind the name
Not really
The gameplay is shallow and simple like with every other JRPG but at least in this one you can autimatically grind at x4 speed to skip how annoying it is.
It's one of the best turn based JRPGs with many quality of life features and one of the best OSTs in vidya. Story is generic, the end gets a bit annoying but the characters and the challenge makes up for it
Is it because of the google definition of (of a computer program or other mechanism) revert automatically to (a preselected option). or fail to fulfil an obligation, especially to repay a loan or to appear in a law court
FPBP
the main theme of the game is refusing to do your duty
Let's just say it Bravely Defaulted on having a good storyline, characters, useful game mechanics, enjoyable settings or gameplay
Soundtrack really carries the game
>fail to fulfil an obligation
>not liking the cast
actually shit taste
It's like you never played a good JRPG with a good cast, and you believe that this tripe is in some way anything but the boring, tasteless dregs of the genre
guarantee I've played more jrpgs than you buddy
I have probably played most of them in existence, but it's POSSIBLE, I guess.
Not sure how that makes Bravely Default any better though. Might just mean you like to eat dregs
I too remember being 12 years old and thinking the only jrps on earth were final fantasy and dragon quest
>Ree i r a dum so u not allowd liek gaem!
fuckoff with this half assed shit
What an unpleasant attempt to discredit me. Just makes you less trustworthy, in my opinion.
>I have probably played most of them in existence
>What an unpleasand attempt to discredit me
You discredited yourself you mongrel
Dude if you actually played most jrpgs in existence that means you played every ungodly turd Gust, Compile Hearts, Idea Factory and Nippon Ichi shit out yearly and it says volume about your taste, so kind of a catch 22 here, either you like making broad sweeping statements with no substance or you actually have taste so terrible you enjoy these games. In either cases your opinion is guaranteed garbage.
>You discredited yourself
How? I've played a lot of JRPGs
>Dude if you actually played most jrpgs in existence that means you played every ungodly turd Gust, Compile Hearts, Idea Factory and Nippon Ichi shit out yearly and it says volume about your taste
Didn't say I liked or completed all of them. Though I quite like older Nippon Ichi. Rhapsody was a charming game and Makai Kingdom is one of my favourites
Saying that you played most JRPGs in existence you sound like that one 12 year old kid in school who says that his dad works at nintendo
if there was any truth to this you'd know bravely default is undisputably above average considering how shit most jrpgs are, and so is its writing
But it's not. It's more a desperate collage of popular aspects from better games, cobbled together a few years after the genre lost prominence to cash in on nostalgia.
Nah,i've just played most JRPGs in existence. It's not hard. It's my favourite genre and i've been playing games since the early 90's
what "better game" invented the bravely/default system then ?
sounds more like the game wasnt anime enough for you
You mean
>the short and simple reply
vs
>look at me im a shit wine connoisseur reply
That is unique. Doesn't make it good.
sounds like you're desperate to defend this game for some reason
>game encourages you to break the job system to deny enemy damage and break the damage counter to proceed past some bosses
If you like turn based RPG, then 200% yes
>the central mechanic of the combat is unique but the game is somehow a desperate collage of mechanics from other games
So "broad sweeping statements with no substance" it is then, called it.
This. It's funny how the whole thread is triggered responses to FP
Just pirate it op. Its fun, job system is great.
>>the central mechanic of the combat
The job system? Yeah, that's been done better tonnes of times
>bravely/default system
>wait
>wait
>wait
>attack
what fun
>not braving 3 times on all 4 chars and ending every single battle in the first turn
yeah okay buddy, considering the ratio of stupid shit in your posts so far you should probably realise your statements arent worth dick at this point
>thinking defending for four turns and doing nothing is enjoyable
I was really dissapointed with the gameplay
I didnt think it was possible to be bad at bravely default but good job you proved me wrong
>yeah okay buddy, considering the ratio of stupid shit in your posts so far you should probably realise your statements arent worth dick at this point
>smug anime face
like pottery
What part of ending the battle in the first turn didnt you get, fuckwad? The only fights that should last more than one turn are bosses
see:
try doing that in the deneb and nemesis battles
you know at any point during this conversation you could have given yourself some momentum by substantiating any of your stupid claims but you chose not to and instead pile more and more claims on top of the pile, I wonder why
>still crying about the first post an hour later
someone's pretty angry
I realised the level of conversation I was dealing with pretty early on. The smug anime faces really just cemented that.
>thread about game
>get into argument with someone and talk about game for an hour
>lose argument
>what a loser you're still here arguing on this site made for video game discussions
>insufferable character
Please kill yourself
PC port when?
None of this shit works against the nemesis battles.
>paying for 3DS games
what the FUCK
yet you still continued to reply to all posts? claim more senpaitachi
Yeah I'm sure that's what's going on here
Still funny to see my initial assertions were founded, even if you aren't 12 years old you still argue like one
BTFO
no
...
the game literally repeats itself after chapter 5
>muh alternate dimension crystals
FUCK YOU
>my initial assertions were founded, even if you aren't 12 years old you still argue like one
>Sup Forums is you and one person
Delicious
The game is a good turn-based RPG. If you enjoy challenging boss battles then you'll enjoy it. Traversing the map though and everything else, though, is meh.
>he just keeps adding claims
>"is this game good?"
>"Nah"
>100 posts of smug anime reaction pics crying about it
>Music
>Art
>"Meh"
>"is this game good?"
>people saying no with nothing to back up the claim
>people start discussing the game on this site made to discuss games
>"I know! I'll just be the big boy and call everyone in the thread shit!"
No. Dialogue is just awful and cringey, world is bland and shit, the only interesting thing is the story but the slow, drawn out delivery ruins even that. Ending is cool but the journey there is monotonous and awful.
>nothing to back up the claim
back up that ass, animefag.
Ahh sorry I did forget about the music.
Posting best special theme now:
youtube.com
woof. Agreed on all points. Nailed it.
I didn't even post an anime pic you monkey
>claim
>claim
>claims
All these horribly cringy posts are one person, aren't they? Jesus.
I said, back up that ass, animefag
You're about to get defaulted. Bravely.
>Not Ringabel theme with vocals
youtube.com
>Ringabel
What a fucking stupid name
>more claims
This game is weird
You can tell whoever worked on the combat. art and story loved it to death and put their heart into it. On the other hand, you can tell there was a metrick fuckton of corporate meddling, because the game has a lot of mechanics that seem piled up on top of the core gameplay itself that make no real sense and seem straight out of mobile gaming. I'm talking about those "I win" points you can get through micro transactions, the village taking real life time to upgrade like it's some mobile mmo or something, the "call a party member from a friend to carry you"... and then there's the shit that is just plain confusing, like making encounter rate control a setting option and allowing you to change your difficulty at any time, making it feel like the game doesnt really care what you do is fine letting you cheat.
I still like the game but god it would have been so much better without all this excess garbage.
>playing the first half of the game twice
it's shite
God, the mobile phone game city building was annoying as shit. Why would they do that?
>disliking the changeable difficulty and encounter rate
>Ideally
>Noblesse oblige
>This Warrior
The other 3 aren't much better. Almost every character in BD is just a name pun
I'm fine with it if it's like a skill you can equip, and it's not like they couldnt have made it part of a job's kit, so it's just weird to have it sitting there
