>ZERO public advertising in the streets or western commercials

I thought Nintendo was supposed to treat Xeno like their FF? You can't pull in big numbers if no one knows your game is releasing.

There is a commercial: youtube.com/watch?v=Y_2N-8hhIsU

It's grouped with FEW and Skyrim, but Skyrim got a longer version on its own closer to release, so the same will probably apply to Xenoblade 2.

>thinking weebshit could ever be publicly advertised

They will never shill that red anime slut on billboards in the west.

Spoiler: There's a market in the west, but its much smaller than you think.

AN EVIL EMPIRE IS SUCKING THE LIFE FORCE FROM THE PLANET

>you can always hit the reset button

10/10

Anybody who is going to buy a game called Xenoblade Chronicles 2 already knows it's coming out.

What is this fantasy where people think that the only reason a JRPG isn't going to sell 45 million copies like Grand Theft Auto is because it didn't have a Superbowl commercial.

my kid and teen self would have loved seeing this ad
what the fuck happened to me

>western

That's the problem

Why is every character so overdesigned and (for lack of a better word) moe-looking? I played the first Chronicles and a bit of XCX, but they did not seem this overly weebish.

If Nintendo want it to be as big as FF as all these drones keep saying when Xeno moved to Nintendo then they need to actually market the game.

>Weeb game not advertised in western countries.

Gee I wonder why?

Like how 100 million dollars of marketing turned Watch Dogs into the new Grand Theft Auto?
Or 50 million dollars of marketing turned Street Fighter V into the new Mortal Kombat?
Or however many billion dollars of marketing turned every generic military shooter franchise into the new Call of Duty?

Those aren't even niche titles either; any money spent marketing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is literally money thrown into the fucking garbage.

>Like how 100 million dollars of marketing turned Watch Dogs into the new Grand Theft Auto?
The marketing did work for the first game since it sold really well. When people found out how shit the first game was and how nobody wanted a sequel, marketing couldn't save the sequel. Don't know why you brought it up.
>Or 50 million dollars of marketing turned Street Fighter V into the new Mortal Kombat?
Marketing can't save a game that had huge negative press everywhere. Another irrelevant point.

>Or however many billion dollars of marketing turned every generic military shooter franchise into the new Call of Duty?
Worked out for Battlefield and managed to be a direct competitor when it never use to sell as much.

>any money spent marketing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is literally money thrown into the fucking garbage

Keep your personal feelings out of this, you have no basis. The OG XC would have sold far more if the game was actually marketed and the supplies weren't gimped

If it truly worked out for battlefield you wouldn't have EA sabotaging/buying up/closing studios that make games that compete with it. They are desperate to be #2.

>Street Fighter V had huge negative press
>Battlefield never used to sell as much
Nice fantasy universe

Why didn't Street Fighter IV sell as much as Mortal Kombat then? It had even more advertising than V as I recall AND it was both universally praised in press and loved by players.
Is it because the predominant reason people buy games is the massive success and recognizability of the previous games?

No amount of advertising will make Xenoblade Chronicles 2 sell anything like Final Fantasy because there hasn't been 30 years of Xenoblade games being the cultural touchstone for the JRPG genre

>American website describes malos as a "big guy"

Because animu looking kids, teen looking titcows, animated sex dolls and perv fat furries are TOTALLY publicly marketable.
I fucking swear, nintenbros are the most detatched retards i've ever seen.

When's the Japan time update, usually? Japan time.

going the way of Fire Emblem
start pandering to autistic weeb waifufags who will buy whatever piece of shit DLC and harem kusoge you throw at them

Literally has nothing to do with Battlefield. Some dumb desperate argument. EA makes billions of fifa points alone and you wanna pretend they're scrambling for shit.

>Nice fantasy universe
How am i lying? SFV was shitted on and criticised for barebones launch and terrible load times and netcode. And are you actually retarded? Battlefield is the only other shooter close to Call of duty in sales from latest releases. Why are you pretending otherwise?

>Why didn't Street Fighter IV sell as much as Mortal Kombat then?
But it did though, the MK reboot only sold 3 million.

>No amount of advertising will make Xenoblade Chronicles 2 sell anything like Final Fantasy

It could still make it sell far more than it already is and you're just spouting bullshit because you know you're wrong.

>because there hasn't been 30 years of Xenoblade games

They clearly want to use the brand name to create a long franchise out of the series and FF is already dying. I don't see how they can't compete eventually as long as the games are pushed and treated like a first party IP

Star wars isn't a battlefield competitor

Why tf do you people care about how much this game is going to sell?
If you care about the game you're gonna buy it, why does it matter that hundreds of thousands of normies won't? It's not like average sales has ever stopped monolithsoft from making more games.

MK9 sold 4 million copies and MKX sold "over 5 million"
Why? Because people know the name Mortal Kombat; it is the CULTURAL TOUCHSTONE that people, as in normal people, think of when they hear the words "Fighting Game"

Could advertising make Xenoblade Chronicles 2 sell more? Probably. It's absolutely possible that it might net a few hundred or maybe even a few thousand sales from the handful of people that don't follow video game news but would still buy a niche JRPG.
Would any amount of advertising recoup the cost they spend on advertising? Not a snowball's chance in hell.

You are selling a niche product to a niche audience. Xenoblade Chronicles does not have any type of mass appeal that would lead normal, television watching people to buy it.
That's the fucking end of the argument; the people you're going to reach with an advertising campaign aren't even close to enough to justify running an advertisement campaign.

Guessing Xenoblade 2 budget is small enough that they can do it on a small marketing budget. I mean they have been showing it off at game sites. And having a Direct just for the game so that tends to be more or less their MO when it comes to marketing. The only game so far they really marketed was Zelda and Mario which are already giant IP that people that never played video games know what they are.

She could barely handle just one of her tits with both hands.

>MK9 sold 4 million copies and MKX sold "over 5 million"

And the total of IV is 8 mill.

>It's absolutely possible that it might net a few hundred or maybe even a few thousand sales from the handful of people that don't follow video game news but would still buy a niche JRPG.

This ain't the dude bro shooter console. It will catch on with the Nintendo audience as long as Nintendo pushes it like they're currently doing giving Rex's outfit to Zelda. They made the game standalone so they could get more people to hop on the game instead of having to play the prequel. All they have to do is shill the exploration of the game to capture the same people who brought zelda but itching for another experience while they wait for more zelda content. Nobody is asking fot a GTAV advert campaign.

>wah wah it won't sell from advertising because i said so

Games that sell well get sequels.
So basically, they want the games they like to be successful and get sequals.
Is it that hard to understand?

Why didn't Splatoon get any proper advertising here? All they have to do is advertise it as a family friendly shooter. Like I'm suprised since its easy money.

Except these games have never gotten huge sales and they still get sequels, just look at Xeno 1.
Try reading my entire post next time.

Alright I've had enough of this autism
Congratulations on being smarter than the collective sum of all advertising agents to work in niche industries and surmising that literally any product could be sold to a mass market via advertising.

You've singlehandedly solved the crisis of every niche hobby from Model Trains to Numismatics; just spend millions of dollars advertising on TV.

This is Switch's launch year, the game will outsell the first Xenoblade just on the merits of Switch's momentum.

This was actually a very smart idea, adding Skyrim made it look less weeby

t. Westcuck marketer.

Are those just TV screens or are they literal posters? That does not seem safe

SPINNING

CUTTAH

Be smart user, why would any person build a TV screen/monitor right behind fast moving trains?

Is it known if you can change out that ugly-ass armor yet for the protagonist?

I know it's shallow as shit to care about this stuff but those silly shorts just ruin it for me.

you can't, but you should be able to take him out of the party

they also don't look quite as bad in-game

Nintendo are PUSHING this ad on Japanese side

I might just have to get used to them then. Luckily most of the gameplay looks to happen with the camera behind him, which at least means I won't have to look at the ugly shit.

This. XC1 and X were much more marketable than this trash

reminder to never reply to blunderfag

Make a general on /vg/ if you want a circlejerk, faggot

The train stations around here have tv screens right beside the trains.

So let's see if I got this right:

>X1
>deep plot, filled with interesting and believable characters
>all human party members were well-rounded and dressed/acted like early-adults/actual adults
>customization and development of each characters stats, passives and skills was the key

>X2
>plot that looks strikingly similar to the first game - "duh I wonder if the giant mech-thing they all live on is going to come to life at some point"
>pre-teen edgy shota protagonist dressed like a mongoloid with his slut dressed in (I shit you not) hotpants, a thong and skin-tight suit holding her double-D breasts
>way less stats and customization of gems, weapons, and gear (which also doesn't change the character model anymore)

hi blunderfag

Why are defending a guy was caught in false flagging?

That's some crazy shit, doesn't the high wind pressure eventually damage the screens?

Posters are atleast regularly changed.

I genuinely think the blatant fanservice and pandering are going to be a negative in this game. The original Xenoblade didn't pander at all to virgin NEETS by having it's women made fuck-dolls. Doing so shows low confidence in the characters personality, story and gameplay.

you're not fooling anyone blunderfag

Is that a fucking animal mascot?

For fuck sake Monolith that fucking killed the previous two games for me in this series, just leave off the fucking stupid animals with the stupid fucking voices. Well at least its not a surprise anymore.

I'm not saying it will blunder, just that it's a clear step down to cater to waifufags who can't play a game if there isn't some slut on the cover.

If you dressed down every single character in the first game to their bare minimum they'd still look more conservative than this whore.

>I thought Nintendo was supposed to treat Xeno like their FF?

You clearly don't know how badly SE treats FF nowadays do you?

blunderfag we all know you're a newfaggot who's never been into the xeno series before but research before you shitpost

commercials are worthless now no one watches tv anymore. its just hulu, netflix and other streaming sites. most of these streaming websites dont have commercials if you pay more for them.

>muh xeno series
Xenoblade is it's own series, dumbass

I'm not comparing it to the older Xeno games, I'm comparing it to X1.

And you can sprint the goalposts in any direcition you want but that still won't make you less wrong.

newfags everywhere

>now no one watches tv anymore

In EU soccer matches are the main reason why FIFA and Sony dominate that market, they always have commercials and advertising there

Yes, Xenoblade has always been an conservative series.

>the boogeyman saga started in FF threads infecting Xeno

We've been over this: the "Xeno" in Xenoblade is a homage. The original title was gonna be "Monado"

Don't worry simpleton. As long as drones like you exist, the series will sell very well and you'll get to keep masturbating to your animu dolls like the good goy you are.

Ah, but see that's cherrypicking. Canonically, that's not what she looks like.

The chick in X2 look like a slut canonically.

Not a homo, but that nigga and the white guy are like really handsome while the asian chick is ugly as sin.
There is no justice in this world.

>shitting on gramps

well here in murrica I havent seen a single video game commerical in years.

Her "Canon" design looks similar

Stop being a fuck face when ever xeno game has had shit like this

>boogeyman saga

What

You sure those 2k games aren't shilled in that nigger sport over there?

>gets proven wrong
>c-cherry picking!

here's a canon one faggot

Will the soundtrack be able to surpass the first game?

It's the oldest trick in the book: create a marketable waifu and they'll buy it. The problem is when waifufags make the entirety of your fanbase to the point where you can't make anything else without risking bankruptcy. It's a slippery slope

Maybe

>Cannonically
Like 2/3rds of her constumes are lewd

Covered up completely and looks like actual armor without trying to show off fanservice parts specifically, nice try.

Fuck off Blunderfag and do something productive, go play a game you actually like or something

are you even trying anymore shitdick?

>The problem is when waifufags make the entirety of your fanbase to the point where you can't make anything else without risking bankruptcy. It's a slippery slope

Waifufags are the only ones left playing consoles in Japan. You don't have a choice over there, you HAVE to shit your game up with that crap.

why are otakus such braindead retards with no taste?

weeks from release and ranking 21 on Amazon JP

Game is gonna bomb so hard.

>duh I wonder if the giant mech-thing they all live on is going to come to life at some point
Aren't they already alive and moving? Like, they're living sky islands. One of them is even a major character, Gramps.

I forgot to take my sage off, sorry.

Why would they need to advertise it outside of Japan? Anyone in the west who is excited for it is already following news on the game and the normalfag audience reached with advertisement's couldn't give a shit about a JRPG.

The point still stands

the point stands that you're a faggot with no new material to shitpost with

I'm glad someone said it, this looks like a step down. I could be wrong though

I KNOW YOU FAGS HAVE REVIEW COPIES
WHERE ARE THE LEAKS?

It’s on track to outsell previous titles.

Like every game on switch.

BOTW is on track to be the best selling zelda
Mario Odyssey will be the best selling 3D mario
Splatoon 2 already stomped on Splatoon sales.

This won’t be an outliner.

I sort of agree here.
Marketing can help with initial pick up but it doesnt necessarily guarantee staying power

Stop asking for them, the rest of us don't want to know.
Also, is it normal to send out review copies this early?

Nintendo knows this is a big game and want to give reviewers enough time to play and give a fair review.

>Why is water wet?

They already did. They put screenshots out of a generic sameface animu either huge tits. That's all the marketing they need to get permavirgin weeaboos to buy it en masse.

People say how Nintendo tend to give out review copies much earlier than most publishers. While most give about a week to play it Nintendo gives them 2-3 weeks to play them.

>I thought Nintendo was supposed to treat Xeno like their FF?
We once had a game that was better than FF.
Then it got killed.
Thanks nintendo for that shitty third chapter, ruining a story that had already met its conclusion with a shitty fan fiction and then leaving it unfinished.
10/10 would rage again.

(you)

That's nice.

I imagine it helps with Xeno especially since the story is a big part here and Nintendo must feel confident that the content and interesting stuff isn't frontloaded.

That's the one thing I feel when I see these shorter review windows before release and the increasingly fallacious way games are designed: you bust the budget in the beginning of the game for cutscene magic and then just do literally whatever to give mid-endgame content.

>dude anime titties, lol
This game is Star Ocean and Tales of if they mated. It's no Xenoblade like at all, it's a dissappointment that only waifufags will shill, especially because these two are the same peson and the self insert will eventually bang both of them.
