>game only you played thread

>source engine trash

Gee, I wonder...

It had a good run despite being a mod
I downloaded it when it got a steam release they even gave me a free copy of the ost

when people who joined the steam release realized you could very easily bunnyhop everywhere while cloaked.

>the OST.
Easily the best thing about the game, and you barely hear it while playing.

youtube.com/watch?v=408tWOubRDM

>Makes legitimately one of the best electronic albums of all time for a video game
>Video game doesn't use it

I'm sure there's more to it than the choice of engine.

list five successful user-made source mods

>be employed to do music for DXHR sequel
>"this is my breakout chance"
>it's for the lame multiplayer-only component
>nvm the entire game bombs

Ed Harrison has a hard life

I've never played it

But the ost ist god tier while jogging in urban areas.

Pretty sure you can just download the OST in flac off the Modb page for free anyway.

Was his music for that also good?

Most servers you could enable it to play with a command.

Not particularly, but it probably wasn't required to

>great soundtrack

>it's not actually in the game
>you need to opt into a radio station through the console to hear random tracks from the OST
>all the songs are longer than the matches

what the FUCK were they thinking

That it's a multiplayer game.

>cod kiddies drop it because it's not cod
>weebs drop it because it's not weeb enough

There's usually a populated server at least a few times throughout the week, enough for me to get my fix. There's an active NT player group on steam.

>devs asked the guy asked to do music for their game mod
>music guy went all-the-fuck-out
>devs probably didn't expect that amount of effort and just carried on doing their sub-par work
>'t- thanks anyway Ed... your music really inspired us on some of the bad days'

>literally what game
I wonder why

...

They probably told him just make it sound like GitS.

Should have just made an RPG.

He made a sound track for a single player game.

...

>tfw Tin Soldiers is four different major songs you would typically hear strung throughout a full game for effective leitmotifs smashed together.

downloading now first time player

Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I liked Tin Soldiers.

lets revive this nigger

It's a bad thing for a niche multiplayer shooter that doesn't use it.
It would be a great thing for an action adventure or role playing game.

>first time player
Enjoy your dead servers and 10 year vets

How do you suppose we do that? Not even the devs care for it anymore. And anyone who might play it is too busy playing CS:GO.

so did the devs dieded? or have they released more games?
also great ost

>TFW no Deus Ex-style game set in the NT universe.

see Just make a point of playing on Fridays or some shit.

games don't have to be developed in perpetuity

>neotokyo
More like, sit and camp-tokyo

There has to be a disadvantage to using that vision.

Good atmosphere and music, gameplay was shit.

Yeah, shit is dark.

captcha: camping calle

Yeah, you can't see other campers at long range.

Do people still play on the weekends, There was a activeneotokyoplayers group on steam

It doesn't react to leaning, so all any of those idiots had to do was stop sperging out for two seconds and they would've been able to pop him.

Someone pick a server and let's fill it

bump

youtube.com/watch?v=JfK1O_yNMOE

>haha dude hacking lmao xD
is it 2004 again?

>no fun allowed

Fuck off kiddo.

Why is Shrine the most popular map?

i still listen to some tracks while driving

are you me, the NSF soundtrack is magical for driving home from my night shift

That's a real good way to take a nade to the face or get pinned and flanked.
Camping works if you're up against newbies, and not much else.
Not to mention you won't be scoring as much as the other players and you can't prevent a cap if you stay in the same place.

Why did you let it die, user?
I'm still playing.

Bcuz normies don't like cyberpunk. See Ruiner, BR2049

>Reality is pretty much cyberpunk.
>Normalfags don't like cyberpunk.
>Normalfags don't like reality.

Well, reality DOES suck. I still love my cy-punk vidya, though.

Someone post the Sniler webms or whatever

Still one of my favorite OSTs in a video game. Yes I know I'm not the first one to post that in this thread.

It's fucking magical.

Normies need their weekly dose of quippy escapism, not to be reminded of just how much amoral megacorps and technology has dominated their small, insignificant existence.

theres a few folks on creamy if someone wants to play

That was needlessly edgy, but correct.

Dystopia was better

It exploded.

Skill floor happened
Shooters having to give you +100 POINTS and a badge for everything happened

This.

Give me a fucking break.
States continue to be the primary determinants of political policy.
Corporate interests are a major factor in the way things are done, but they aren't at all sole or primary drivers of society.

Never played it. Is it as dead as NT?

>Corporate interests are a major factor in the way things are done, but they aren't at all sole or primary drivers of society.

lol

even more dead
NT has a community that will put out steam alerts so people will play a few days a week but as far as i know dystopia is just dead

There's a sequel in the works

It's evidently constrained by the nature of the music in HR, which is mostly ambient.
It's not bad, it's just very mellow like 99% of the tracks in HR/MD because they're FUCKING RETARDED HOLY SHIT DEUS EX HAD SO MANY REALLY GOOD TRACKS FOR FUCKS SAKE AT LEAST TRY

really?
is there a website for it or something?

Because /cyg/ is DEAAADD

Source mods had their two golden eras and then a few got lucky with a recent (four years ago) fotm revival.

The site seems to be down but I found this
steamcommunity.com/groups/dystopia_2

Everything dies eventually. Including you.

Neotokyo is legit good
But it was a pet project and they expected it to survive by pure word of mouth.
Also, enable the OST by typing !radio on chat

awesome thanks

>counter strike
>insurgency
>fortress forever
>half life uplink
>zombie panic source

youtube.com/watch?v=qSMaMzFZrd4

Corporations compete for influence in political parties, rather than parties competing for corporate influence.
But who am I to argue with 'lol.'
Dipshit.

>Hacking in a niche game to begin with

That's some dedication.

AGAIN, lol.

>cloaked bunnyhop
this, along with vision modes making the game unpleasant to look at.

Tatsur0's dad?

ghostiq.com/00sketches/rt2.mp3
soon

The OST was really good
Ridiculous how something so simple or easy to miss can elevate videogames so much
youtube.com/watch?v=VPUp2PiCYBY

Zombie Panic is getting a major update in less than a month btw

still active

I remember this. It's okay, but not much depth.

>>counter strike
doesn't count, had a following before source, half-life one mod, iirc monetized before source
>>fortress forever
looks like a TFC port
>>half life uplink
what is this? remake of a half-life one demo?

Howdy.

goldsrc count you faggot. It was a different engine and era but the culture was the same. Next you're going to say unreal mods don't belong in a source mod nostalgia thread even though they ran alongside each other and shared most of the same playerbase.

i don't think we're talking about the same thing. the point from the first post is that there has been hardly any successful user mods on source and maybe that has something to do with the engine and/or the tools

also don't throw "faggot" around it's reserved for literal filthy pedophiles who are reserved for everlasting fire. i am not going to hell

Insurgency.

Fuck off faggot.

The new GitS movie could have used Ed's skill (among other things).
