>new season just started
>Sup Forums not talking about
>no /vg/ general for it
is this game dead? I just returned to playing, came to check and see if anyone here was discussing it, but found nothing.
Diablo 3
Diablo III is the least rewarding game I've ever played, there's sincerely not a lot to talk about.
It's the same shit every season. I play it every few seasons and it's nothing but a rearranged set of Sets for each class, nothing new.
Last I played it was season 3, what's new?
Well I think there's a good reason not many people want to talk about it. It's a pretty bland experience.
I just started a season 12 HC Barb and got to level 36. The game's piss easy on expert. And even if it was more challenging the loot and upgrades feel very underwhelming.
The story and atmosphere are also severely lacking.
I wouldn't call it bad. It can be somewhat relaxing to put your brain to sleep playing it while listening to a podcast. But that's not saying much.
Even though most people hated the RMAH days I have some fond memories from that period. I'd get excited at a good drop that was worth a bunch of money. I made over $1k before it all went to shit.
>watching Kripp playing D3 quite a while back
>he literally just walks around not even pressing buttons, but deals millions of damage to everything while taking no damage himself
whoa...
The game only begins once you hit level 70, which suck because leveling is so insanely boring in D3.
find a group and get to 70 in 30min or less
im playing the game but i have shit luck so i can only do t13/gr60 so i just lootshare with other monks all day long, if needs be post ur battletag and we could play later or tmr
EU server btw
not the same story on hardcore
Can you explain this further? I haven't done any (Greater)Rifts. Is that where the fun begins?
and yeah my character is on hardcore
tru you're right but i dont really play hc because if my game crashes or some lag happens and something kills me i just wasted all my time
Dunno about seasons, since I own the superior PS4 version.
All the cool legendary items are at the high levels.
there's nothing to talk about. you just fire it up once every couple months, get fully geared in 2 weeks and quit
But consoles have had seasons for a while now?
>i just wasted all my time
Not really. Sure you lose almost everything you've gained but I'd say the threat of that improves the experience and makes you a better, more reactive player.
The real problem with this game is one that has been there from Diablo 1. Maybe to a somewhat lesser extend in 1 and 2 but still an issue. And that is that it is mostly your character that improves and not you. Compare that to a game like Dark Souls where 2 people playing the same character with the same gear can have a vastly different outcome based on their personal skill and experience.
that's because the genre is too fucking simple, neither strategic choice (i.e dungeon crawling) nor action skills have much of a skill ceiling
wish they'd just make a game with normal melee like dark souls or jedi outcast or whatever the fuck, unlocking skills like whirlwind or blessed hammer where they become situational but powerful maneuvers in your big repertoire of combat tricks instead of being the one button you mash to assrape everything on the screen
Shit game and the seasons add nothing
>yay mommy, more cheevos for me to unlock!
>clear 70
>unlock primal ancients
>all of them are shit I wouldn't wear
1 week races in poe get more traffic than new sesaons in diablo 3.
For good reason too.
i've played like 2-3 seasons in diablo 3, i think i've had my fill.
>is this game dead?
out of 70+ hours of content on each of 8 stages/venues at blizzcon, a grand total of 50 minutes was devoted to diablo. it was mostly a slideshow of concept art for the necro, which was a paid dlc character released five months ago
deader than dead.
>The game only begins once you hit level 70, which suck because leveling is so insanely boring in D3.
going from 1 to 70 should take roughly 20 minutes with that one gem and a friend, or an hour with just the gem
Only spergs play the PC version. Everyone know the ps4/xbone versions are the goat. Bring me the (you)s
>he bought diablo 3
I don't know if there's anything to talk about. I guess most people already played through the game enough times and moved to do other stuff
>he criticizes games he's never played
>season X comes out
>decide to come back
>10 hours in already have the "endgame" set
>spend 100 hours trying to get the right afflix on said set
nah famalam ill pass since every time a new season comes out it is exactly the same.
Is there an ARPG with slower and more technical gameplay than all the usual RUN FAST AOE EVERYTHING shit?
Play the superior Diablo 3.5 instead, aka Mu Legend
>each class has multiple different viable builds, unlike D3
>actually has endgame pvp unlike diablo, both 3v3 and 8v8
>20 player raids
>its an MMO with actual player interaction, you can either play dungeons with 4 other people or solo them if you're good enough
>skill animations are way better
>20 player raids
neat
>add a single character
>charge $15
Yeah, it's been dead for a while.
>each class has multiple different viable builds, unlike D3
the recent 2.6.1 update was supposed to fix this, don't know if it succeeded but looking through the patch notes some of the changes seem massive
>filled with hackers and botters
>pay to win cash shop
N-no thanks
from that picture I can instantly tell that it's gook trash, which is everything bad about the diablo series taken to its logical conclusion
Diablo 3 is already a pale imitation of gook trash. Mu is just D3 but with angel wings slapped on it.
Is that a f2p game? if so does it require you to buy stuff or is it mostly cosmetics or something like that?
Everybody bought Diablo 3 you stupid nigger. Doesn't mean it isn't the most disappointing game of all time though
Yea it's f2p. Cosmetic outfits give minor stat boosts, but you can also unlock them through normal gameplay. it just takes longer
>slower, more technical approach
game sells like shit, only the niche few bother to play it, user commits 1000% of his time to it out of spite towards d3.
>faster, hurry-up offensive with an intense raid style endgame that forces a group of 4 to play near perfect if they want to climb the ladder
flawed game, but still more interesting than the former. everyone from casual to the extreme hardcore have content to play through. primal ancients and paragon provide a near endless grind for players that always feel the need to progress their character.
also, if you want a slower experience, you could level from 1 to 70 on a harder difficulty. if you play on say, t4, you will find yourself moving a lot slower, and playing with more strategy. smaller pulls, more use of your defensive abilities. it's really up to you how you want to play.
its just single player where you run around killing brain dead enemies what the fuck you think people care about wasting time with this shit?
Might give it a try. It's probably another korean grinding simulator but who knows.
>single player
i really enjoy making 1 character for the free set per season as it speeds up the whole gameplay, but i haven't been motivated enough to create more than 1 character per season
how do you get to 70 in half an hour like everybody keeps saying? i have an hero thats lvl 55 on expert and i wanna start this new season
seasonal power level channel, or ask someone in thread. if you play NA, I could knock it out for you in about 10-15 minutes
I do. I just started playing d3 and ARPGs honestly, I get the jist tho
When will people get off the hardcore horse?
All it does is make you play in the most safe and dull way, overleveling as much as possible etc..
There is no point in roguelike mode in a game that lacks so much in the replayability department.
Its the same even with roguelikes that dont focus maximally on creating a new experience each new game, like Tales of majyal that feels clumsy as a roguelike because all its other systems are calling it out to be a regular turn based action rpg game.
I played hardcore once
the net difference was that I had to give up one passive slot for cheat death so I couldn't die and then I just played exactly the same way
Where can I play a good Diablo 2 that is not Diablo 2?
Well, Diablo is a special kind of retard game.
I was thinking about buying it on PC since I enjoyed playing on ps4 with my friend a couple years ago. Been playing HotS lately and really enjoying it.
Worried it's too dead though. Plus I just had to spend a bunch on my car and dog so splashing around more cash is painful.
that passive saves you once every 60 seconds. when you hit high ladder, you're faced with packs that could one-shot you at every turn if you're not careful. the point of hardcore is to make you play different. instead of rushing and not considering death, you need to play with the risk of permanently losing your character.
Its fun for about a week. Then you have everything and it gets boring.
already died lol
