Should I buy it?

Never played any souls game, wanna buy something for my PS4. But I don't know if I will like it. So, should I start with Bloodborne?

It's an objectively very good game. Maybe you won't like tho.

Only if you enjoy being a tryhard in single player games.

I played Demon Souls + Dark Souls 1 + 2.

It's decent. Not as amazing as everyone claims it is but decent fun. Keep in mind you'll die a lot to cheap bullshit and everyone will claim it's "a challenge."

>ask random strangers on the internet instead of asking a friend to lend you the disc to try it out

you should start with demon souls or dark souls 1, because you probably won't wanna play the previous titles after playing bloodborne
but it is very good

BB is the least cheap entry in the series though.

that's what I am afraid of. I want to play games for relax, not for wanting to throw my console out of my window.
Pole here, I'm actually only one from my college group who has a console

I'd say fuck it.
If you can't come up with your own reasons why you want the game just don't get it.

>I want to play games for relax, not for wanting to throw my console out of my window.

Avoid the entire Souls franchise.

Nioh is a lot more fun to play. It took the autistic souls formula and actually made a fun game out of it instead of a mess of artificial difficulty and clunkiness.

So what games would you recommend?

>Blood borne is the least cheap game in the series

I mean sure, if you fuck up a dodge it's your own fault. But the entire late game of BB, especially later chalices is defined entirely by dying in two hits very quickly. Sometimes one. And hell I love BB but you're either in the focus zone or not, kinda kills comfy play.

What are your favorite genres? Say one or two, then i recommend you something.

Bought my first console few months ago, still looking for something I could play on in. Finished the MGS series, Witcher (on PC), Arkham Series was nice, but I never managed to get my self to play through the Arkham Knight. I have Horizon Zero Down, but I find it rather dull.

This

i dont like souls but i loved this game. i say do it user

Defiled Chalice is not indicative of the overall game at all.

Well, if you enjoy Witcher i guess you could try on your PS4 Final Fantasy XV, it has nice story and characters, combat is cool and full of different options even though it's quite simple to play, open world is huge and full of mmo stuff to do and you can even get a flying car later to explore even more.

Dark Souls 3 is better.

Never played any FF games, I will look into it. Thanks.

If you've never played any souls games before, you will most likely have a pretty hard go of it with this one, but it's well worth it if you're persistent. Was the game that got me into the series, and probably still my favorite, but it is hard if you're going in blind.

It's one of my favorite games ever. I fell right for the meme and have no shame for it. It won't provide you a relaxing experience, but the difficulty goes significantly down once you learn the game, yet still provides a challenge.

I was in the same boat as you OP, I got my ass kicked all over Yharnam and almost gave up but it ended up being one of my favorite games ever.

Buy it. You might think you won't enjoy it because you just want a casual experience, but it'll hook you like it hooks basically everyone and then you'll end up enjoying it. The game just pulls you in.

Hard call.
If you play BB, the other games might seem like shit in comparison.
However if you play the others first, you might suffer from burnout and become one of those autists that genuinely thinks that DkS1 is the pinnacle of the series.

Wait, if you haven't played bloodborne what the hell did you buy your ps4 for?

I'd never played a Souls game, but I bought this at launch because the art style and graphics looked fucking amazing. I played it for like an hour and sucked too bad, then didn't play it again until earlier this year when my buddy convinced me. Since then it's become one of, if not my favorite game of all time.

Buy that shit and git gud, it's worth it. Just remember that you will die a lot at the start, and that it's part of the game. Play it blind as much as possible, the progression of the story will be that much more impactful.

Started with Crash and Uncharted. Next was Mafia III and Horizon Zero Dawn. I'm looking forward to RDRII, Death Stranding and Detroit Become Human maybe.

I never played a souls game but I had a lot of fun with bloodborne.

>that's what I am afraid of. I want to play games for relax
Just watch TV then. I don't know why you people come here. Video games are a waste of money if you are just looking to shut your brain off.

Tfw i bought the 20$ dlc on a whim one night months ago and never started it

If you have to ask then no and fuck off.
Start with Dark Souls 3 faggot.

I'll waste my money the way I want.

>having friends irl

>you'll die a lot to cheap bullshit and everyone will claim it's "a challenge."
git gud retard.

It is the best PS4 exclusive as of today.

A very well made video game.
