It does, but in a different manner. Arcade allows you to get additional lootboxes by playing arcade, you would still be getting xp for playing arcade regardless how many matches you've won. Battlefront version is legit timegate.

Funny thing they could have balanced it out without it looking like shit: like instead of doing cooldowns in oder to earn credits they should have given boosts for few wins with the same fucking cooldown and if player wants to continue playing arcade he could still earn credits, just with reduced scale. Instead they make it too obvious for people to notice how they want to sparse the game's content and make it grindy as fuck.

If it's really fun they you wouldn't need the incentive of credits to play. Just saying. I don't expect that to be the case.

Theres something seriously wonky about this as well. No dev should have to put up with death threats from angry star wars man children but fuck me pretending that they had no say what so ever in how this was implemented is complete bullshit.

Code monkeys are just going to do what they are told but I highly doubt its those code monkeys that are getting death threats, its more Dice knew exactly what they were doing from the start of development otherwise the entire box and credit fiasco would not have been built into the game this well.

Have Arcade Credits for Arcade mode and Competitive credits for the comp multiplayer, hell scrap Arcade credits and just have it be a linear progression with quick unlocks where you get to test out whatever hero or upgrade you want to pick up for competitive.

Credits would be comparable to the XP you gain for simply playing the game, which upon level up nets you a free to open box.

All that shit is cosmetic. In Battlefront II you NEED credits to unlock actual content in the game. Imagine if you were playing a fighting game or a racing game or any other game that has unlockables, and you start unlocking things, then the game suddenly goes "sorry, you're unlocking shit too fast, for the next 3 hours you can't unlock anything"

Doom4 was good but yeah, 95% of big budget westen games have gone to shit.
Good thing indies like Hollow Knight, Sonic Mania and Cuphead exist.

That would actually require at least some designing and coding, doing boosts with the same cooldown and implementing/balancing a reduced credit acquisition rate would have taken them less than a day, probably few hours tops. Considering that drama around this and lottboxes was happening a few weeks before the release and how quickly they've changed prices for heroes as decreased rewards for SP shows that they didn't even consider to rebalance this shit. They deserve all the hate they get, both EA and DICE.
