How goes your season?

how goes your season?

I stopped playing after trying out all classes, it doesn't have amazing replay value.

the campaign? yeah, it's shit

I bet you don't even have reaper of souls

I do, it's fun rushing through high GR levels but it gets old once you max out your build.

I did the trivial season journey, got the Blessed Hammer set and jumped from Torment 4 to 10, played for a couple of hours for Akkhan set and jumped straight to Torment 13. Now I'm killing Rift Guardians in a few seconds but survivability is a bit iffy without Unity and Akarat's Champion falling off due to low cooldown reduction so I'm not bothering with higher artificial difficulty settings as that would require dull conservative play.

But overall, after these 10 or so hours the progression has effectively reached a plateau (and getting to this point feels wholly undeserved, with gear being handed to me "for free") and I have no desire to continue. If only D3 wasn't a trash game with viability of "builds" 100% tied to specific items, which you can get in no time and all, and everything beyond that point being micro-optimizations. Why can't I play, say, a Frenzy barbarian (one that actually uses Frenzy skill as Frenzy skill, not as delivery method of Thorns) without knowing I'm ten thousand percent short of performance I could get with gear I get just for showing up? How does one fuck up balance so unimaginably bad?

I just do it for the stash tab

I got to T9 with the welfare Trang'Oul set and I can do the rifts solo pretty easily. But T10 is a sudden and huge jump in difficulty and I often just get oneshot.
I feel like I'm just not passing the grind check, but I don't think grinding gets any more fun after that point, and I'm already getting tired.

What's even D3 endgame these days? Simply run Nephalem Rift, then Greater, rinse and repeat ad infinitum? Or are there any other activities?

>falling for the seasonal meme to get "rewards" for a game you don't even enjoy playing anymore

The seasons have challenges for you like set dungeons or certain GRs solo or clearing a nephalem rift solo at a certain speed etc. There's stuff to do if you enjoy the gameplay. Also getting that one drop you've been grinding for for hours is satisfying as always regardless of what you have to say about the game.

Got the second portrait frame without any effort. Trag'Oul set is fun, but don't know how much I'll play more.

Well, as I said, I tried those T10 challenges, but it's just unreal. I get literally oneshot by shadow Diablo in the infernal machine. Hell, even regular champion mobs spawning an ice bomb under me drain my health in a matter of milliseconds. And I don't mean the actual explosion, but the ice area just ticking for so much damage it almost kills me.
I'm not sure what else I can do other than just grind for thousands of paragon levels to get through this. And as for the drops, I dunno what else can I possibly wish for after I've been given a free full set. I don't really have anything else to look forward to.

Unless the game changed a LOT since I last played, you're just undergeared and it has nothing to do with paragon. Get your BiS legendaries and get ancient gear or whatever they're called. Just keep upgrading your shit and you'll be fine. Also see if your gear stats are in the right place. ALSO make sure to use the correct legendary gems and level those too.

There are "correct" ones? I mean, sure, as a Necro I use the one that boosts the summons and the elite pack one. I try to avoid the gems that do damage based on the weapon damage %, since the set bonuses increase your specific skill damage by 10000000000%, not just any damage.

but I do enjoy

Can't be arsed to do a set portal again so I'm stuck. Got the wings tho and I'm fine with that.

Google a build and see how it's minmaxed, what state are best on each piece of gear, what accessories to use to boost your damage and/or survivability, if you just use what you think is right you won't get far probably. As sad as it is, when you're going for higher level content the game pigeonholes you to certain builds/gear within the builds.

>Google a build and see how it's minmaxed
Might as well not play the game in the first place.

WW being this strong should be illegal. Found this last night, so plan to push high as I can this season.

If you want to be creative don't play Diablo 3, I don't understand how this is foreign to people. Games like Path of Exile are a million times better at that, Diablo 3 just isn't. It's not even trying to be.

What's that ring effect? I've seen it in a bunch of videos, but I have no idea where you get it from.

im like 620 paragon. came back to play necro and they're rediculously overpowqered. with welfare trang set i easily solo 70 gr

i made a barb cuz slightly bored of necro and they're m y favorite class but theyre weak unless geared and i feel like im wasting time not just running GR's on my necro for levels. oh and whast up with joining a game and nobody fucking does anything? its annoying, i want to do vaults and rifts

Convention of the Elements, give you an insane damage buff to an element, cycles between them.

convention of elements
free big damage

did they add anything after necro patch?

>i made a barb cuz slightly bored of necro and they're m y favorite class but theyre weak unless geared
nearly all barb specs are top tier this season. leapbarb sort of remained in place, but shit like IKWW, zoidWW, charge, and the IKhammer, are all great specs.
only class tuning.

2.6.1 update with massive balance changes

Is it really that good if you're not running a Tal Rasha Sorc or something? From what I've seen most builds just boost a single meme skill that already gets a thirty billion increased damage from the set bonus, which doesn't exactly provide you with much elemental damage variety.

Also, has that ring that lets you wear 4 pieces for the full set bonus got removed or what?

Most builds cube it I think, either way the damage boost is definitely noticable even on crazy high damage output builds.

depends on the rune you pick. if the guide suggest switching your melee ability rune to an elemental rune, it now does that damage. if you run coe, you gain a fat dmg multiplier.

DH is so shit at low levels. a real chore to play

>implying I'm gonna play this powerceeped bullshit ever again
Just look at these numbers. Just fucking look at them. That's just random fragment from the latest patch notes.
>we already have 40 000% (forty fucking thousands) damage bonus on the set, what should we do?
>I know, let's change it to 50 000% (fifty motherfucking thousands percents jesus christ)
>great idea, I can't wait to see all the joy from the players about our hard work
Just fuck this shit. Give me back my pre-nerfed vanilla inferno.

But then you get the full dagger set and oneshot everything UNF

you have to be one delusional fucktard to think vanilla d3 was better

Well, all of Necro's blood skills do physical damage, unless I'm mistaken. And you can only benefit from the set bonus if you use one specific rune on those skills.

ladder is endless. the power creep is there to help you move up a few levels. those numbers may look big, but you'll eventually hit a wall and start to feel weak again.

also, if you want inferno, just push for GR90+. coming from someone that actually beat inferno, you will receive the same degree of challenge.

convention of elements has physical damage as well

never played one but just looking over bone spirit, it has a rune that changes it to cold and poison. and like said, it also benefits physical.

Even literal pile of shit would be better than this.

Pretty sure GR90 is easy mode witch current numbers.

All those types of necro golems but there is only 2 actual models with the others being recolors, why so lazy blizz :(

Playing a monk seriously for the first time and liking it

>I have deliberately entered a thread for a thing that I hate and now I'm upset how could this have happened to me

What are challenge rifts? Are they pre-made by Blizz, or does it actually take someone's data and lets you run through the same rift with their character?
Because if it's the latter, then D3 players must be really bad, despite having such overpowered gear. Since I've managed to get twice better time in a rift than some dude, and I don't even play Monk.

>easy mode
and yet, you haven't done it

I think is pretty much a preset

>no diablo game with 3rd person action combat like games such as jedi outcast or dark souls or whatever
why
I just want to learn attack moves while gathering gear to use those moves with
nioh doesn't count because I say so

Can someone explain the seasons to me?
What's the core point in participating in a season and losing the character(?) I haven't participated in a season since launch, should I even bother at this point? I've just never really understood what the main reason of a season is, I wanna join in and have fun though

Darksiders 2.

Seasonal characters get converted to a regular one after the season ends. Seasons introduce new gear which won't be accessible to regular characters until the season is over.

The whole point is to start over and get replayability. Games like Path of Exile do seasons better because every new season introduces a crazy new mechanic.

>git gud
>smug face
Woah, you sure showed me. I haven't played since S9.

It's supposed to function similarly to a race. If everyone has to make new characters then nobody comes in with a big advantage.

>Seasons introduce new gear which won't be accessible to regular characters
They stopped doing it like 5 seasons ago.

It is? I played the first game which felt more like a god of war game, and it wasn't very good.

Oh. Well, I haven't played since season 3 or so.

Actually trying to play a frenzy barb on hardcore despite knowing it won't work, even with legacy of nightmares. Using frenzy as a proc delivery engine, but getting an ancient aquila curass, oath keeper, bastion's revered and undisputed champion is taking soo long. Meanwhile I've got every other set sitting in my stash but they all encourage garbage cooldown, click-heavy playstyles and/or twirling around like a retard.

Seasons started with exclusive new legendaries that spiced up playstyles for some classes but now you only get cosmetic stuff and stash tabs.

It's more of a Zelda game with western comic aesthetics and story.
Darksiders 2 introduces some randomized loot hunting elements, and honestly improves on pretty much everything the first game did. Except for being a wholesome game. THQ was dying at the time, so no only devs didn't get enough time and money to finish the game properly, but it was pushed for an early release to cover some of the THQs debts I'd wager.
Anyway, it's a solid action with some RPG elements and plenty of loot to collect and reforge.

Diablo 3 Season 12?
You mean Diablo 3 play a rathma necro or be miles behind everyone else?

I remember Sup Forums seemed to give it a decent reception, so maybe I'll try it someday, but it doesn't sound like what I'm looking for.

>play a rathma necro or be miles behind everyone else?
Hah. If only.

No build clears faster in groups dude.
Most groups now days are 2 rathma necs with 2 supports, sometimes 1 support 3 rathma. It's pathetic.

>the only fun you can have in this game is being part of the current meta
playing the game wrong. do you and stop caring what others are doing. even if rathma wasn't in the place it currently is, you still have to compete with niggas botting up 3000 paragon.

Didn't know that. I only solo.

Stop it, stupid goy, everyone can be good, especially if you buy our brand new© Necro... I mean everyone is equally good.
