All these games are piss-easy even if you aren't mixmaxing. Is it good design to have long ass games that provide no challenge?

i never liked any of the fallout games, trash version of elder scrolls

Yes.

Being fun is more important than being challenging.

The majority of games that Sup Forums played their childhood and gush over weren't particularly hard either, they just felt harder because they sucked as a kid.

>Fallout 1-2 are piss-easy even if you aren't mixmaxing.

>i never liked any of the fallout games, trash version of elder scrolls

Either you're completely retarded or baiting, 3/10

They are.

Sniper Rifles are OP, just like every other Fallout.

Sure kid, musta been real fun savescumming every lock and speech check in Fo1 / 2

>its your fault the game mechanics are broken

>Fallout 1-2
>op sniper rifles
Bozar doesn't count.

Western RPGS are more than their combat system. It's only an issue in JRPGS where the combat system is the only thing in their linear story.

they wanted to avoid frustrated playerbase who make completely clueless builds and then complain because they can't advance in the game. in fallout 1 every single main quest had extremely low skill requirements, for example if you had to get some item off an npc then its perception would be extremely low so you could pickpocket him easily.

>expecting people to not savescum when everything is based on rng

>uses the same ammo as the hunting rifle, meaning it's abundant
>long range+ high accuracy= less risk to self and easier stealth
>can cripple eyes, which ensures that enemies can't do shit to you

Snipers are more balanced in 3 and NV, since ammo is rarer and you can't do eye shots in VATS.

desu someone should remake fallout 1 and 2 in FOnline engine with real time combat, that shit was fun as hell until the russians megaclans ruined everything. would provide ample challenge as well.

Seems reasonable tbqh.

One thing I hate about alot of CRPGs is that 90% of all skills are literally worthless. What's the point of them even giving the player a choice if it can't possibly work out?

...

true. they probably start at the planning table with some ideas guy telling them all the skills are going to be awesome and useful but as the development of the game gets further and further they end up effectively dropping shit that just didn't work out. who the hell ever put any points into gambling in fallout 2?

I have to agree, even Fallout 4 on "Survival" mode is piss easy as soon as you set up settlement supply lines. I was hoping for a little mmore challenge from it desu.

>New Vegas and all DLC is pretty easy
>even if you dump the Courier's Stash stuff and don't buy GRA weapons
>but there are still people who will bitch endlessly about how "hard" JSawyer makes the game

Doesn't JSawyer scpefically make it so you don't get the Courier's Stash items at the start of the game and spread them around in different locations instead?

Yeah but it doesn't stop Chet in Goodsprings selling 100% condition GRA energy pistols and all the mods for them

Well even in the base game there's enough materials for weapon repair kids to get your own full repair weapon for free at the start of the game.

This is also he reason I never pick Jury Rigging btw. There are so many ways to exploit the game's economy that it makes it a waste of a perk point in the end.
