So even if its years off...

So even if its years off, people seem really confident that the Switch will get a hardware revision or new model in one way or another.

So lets discuss it. What do you want to see from the eventual Switch revision?

>removing what makes the switch a switch

A real battery or at least some optimisation with game to make the battery run longer.

I don't need a handled that die in 2.5 hours.

>removing the 3D that makes the 3DS a 3DS

it would still be cool if it was about the size of a DS.then it would actually be portable.

Guess that's why the 2DS is not called 3DS then

God I want a switch revision SO BADLY I fucking hate the joycon gimmick not everyone wants to play with friends on a tiny 7 inch screen using a shitty ass tiny controller with lack of inputs.

Has a hardware revision ever done this ever?
The newer 3DS models actually have lower battery life than the originals.

I doubt there will be one until the next console comes around, like the Wii mini. I would guess it wouldn't even be a portable in all honesty, especially if the 3ds family does stick around. I imagine it would be more of just a dock maybe down res a little

Then change the name, I dunno, something close but different, like spouitch

No way there will be a new cpu. It'll probably have better storage and battery, and a slightly different form factor. That's about it, honestly. Remember the DSlite? It was just a DS with a better batter and screen. Don't expect too much from the switch revision.

Yes but just look at first gen 3ds, the screen is incredibly tiny

Switch Mini, 3DSwitch, Switch XL, Swith XXL, Switch SP, Switch Lite, 2DSwitch, etc.

You know it can last up to 6 hours right?
Why do people keep saying this? It can fit into a pocket easily, joycons and all
>lack of inputs
What?

Remove the portability and make it an actual home console.

Ah yes, so the new 3ds never happened.

6 hours with 3d, no powersave on and on monster Hunter?

If anything, they'd make a more expensive "Pro" version.
Sony and Microsoft already did so, and they were clearly testing the waters with their handheld revisions.
I couldn't imagine them wanting to further cannibalize 3ds sales while they're still supporting the thing.

die shrinks

there's a reason why the 360 power supply went from 203 watts on the original units to 120 watts on the 360 E

old ps4 and xbox one are currently cheaper than their release date price though

can anyone provide actual proof that a revision happen within 2 years aside from the usual "they always do it sometimes" argument? like any inside newsletters about it? anything said in an interview, emails sent to retailers, anything? because to me it makes absolutely zero sense for nintendo to make a switch mini. I think they'll go straight for a switch 2 in two or three years

The original XL had a better battery life than the launch model.

This. I don't fucking care about portability, let me buy a home console, Nintendo

they said that the nx project aka switch was superior to ps4/xbox and the tablet is barrely at the same lvl of the vita so? switch pro incoming

link to the statement?

Same size screen or bigger, better battery, joycons with better sticks

www.google.com

This is my theory about why Switch sells well. when a guy has a Switch, he can bring it out and share the controls to his friends in public, which makes his friends (or other strangers) pay attention on it, try it, and think about buying it.

this Switch Mini cannot do that

Is someone forcing you to play it in handheld mode?

>they said that the nx project aka switch was superior to ps4/xbox
????????????????????????????????

No one's forcing me to play it because I didn't buy it. What I'm saying is I want a home version that doesn't play games at 900p

A new super powered dock that gives it the power of a ps4. Screen cap this boys

yeah, so imagine a "pro" revision would be a few years down the line

the switch its not your choise them, they opt for the hybrid console which its not a portable(battery duration) or a home console(raw power) its something in between those two. they have to balance that shit in order to work.

The entire mission of the Switch so far has been to consolidate the Nintendo experience onto one system with a clear message of what it does. This idea totally shits all over that by removing a key functionality of it. With this thing they'd have to slap labels on game boxes that require Joycon motion control or make it clear that local co-op on one system is gone.

Terrible idea.

I knew this was all bullshit. the switch revision isn't coming

this is exactly the point I was making but Sup Forums is autistic. a switch mini WILL NOT HAPPEN

And now, introducing, the Nintendo Portable!

>that Dpad placement

Fucking stop it, Jesus. The 3DS was bad enough. Whose fucking hands are built like that? My hands are too big to even grip the circle pad comfortably and they aren't that fucking big. What babyman can contort his hands to comfortably fit that shit?

What you're likely to get if the Switch continues to succeed is a slightly more powerful tablet that works with your regular dock and Joycons.

I've never seen someone justify shitty battery and low power so much.

That's because the 3D feature was a miserable failure almost no one used. Nintendo has just as many shit ideas as it does good ones, that's what innovation comes down to, you either get it right or you don't, but you keep trying. The Switch doesn't have primary features that are consistently ignored by 99% of its fanbase.

A real d-pad or at least an alternate left joycon with one
An extra USB port on top (it shouldn't matter which way you dock it)
An ethernet port in the dock. Holy shit Nintendo, you still haven't learned!

I just keep a cheap power bank with me when I travel. 12h+ and it charges my other devices too...

I expect that they are probably going to bring out a Switch Portable when Pokemon Switch launches. Smaller, made on a better foundry process so the SoC is cheap and uses way less energy (and generates way less heat), no joycons and other cost savings. All to create a cheap secondary line for the people who only buy pokemon + little kids (current switch is too large and heavy for children in mobile mode).

I think you're more likely to see dock revisions, instead. More local storage, gamecube controller ports, perhaps USB expansion support on a deluxe model, multiple docks in one station. Maybe classic games playable on the dock when the switch itself is away. Things like that. Easier to keep early adopters included while selling lots of plastic.

what's the fucking point when they could save way more cash by not doing that shit? they could easily just keep the 3ds line going which has already proven itself
also probably this

IIRC they confirmed they would never want storage tied to the dock.

this. they will probably just create a new ds which runs on the switch's operating system. either that or they are going to create a switch that is just a full fledged console without any portable bullshit (exposing the original switch for the gimmick it is)

It can fit into a pocket if you are wearing horrible clothes that don't fit you, sure.
I can barely fit my fucking phone in pockets nowadays, stop wearing baggy cargo pants.

>save way more cash
A business is not about saving, it is about spending in a way that generates profit.

>they could easily just keep the 3ds line going
The 3DS is aging, in hardware and in slow sales. That ship has sailed user.

>Hey guys lets remobe the features that is repsonsible for a big chunk of our sales

One of the reasons why Sup Forumsirgins will never ever have a job in anything busines related

Second its currently not possible to enhance the battery life in Switch without making the console itself bigger.
The battery is insanly big compared to any other handheld ever created and takes teh absolutly most place in the Switch.

So either you must:
a. Downgrade the hardware to make it less dependent on power
b. Make the screen smaller so it consumes less battery life
c. Make the console itself bigger making it harder to be a handheld

or

d. invent a conpletly new way to store electricity

>slow sales
fucking lmao. the 3ds is one of the best selling consoles right now. you clearly don't know shit

>tripfag missing the point
>and being a huge nintendo cock gobbler
what else is new

Or e. sacrifice the blood of innocent babies to the dark gods to create magic batteries that can last longer than current battery technology.

There was a bunch of drama over the dock bending the Switch or scratching it during the opening months and that made me super paranoid. I'd like to be sure that those issues won't happen.

It is best selling over its lifetime sure. But it is not selling any more as just about everyone who wants one already has one.
Nobody's gonna buy a brand new 3DS for Christmas when they can just get a used one for cheap, but they might buy a Switch which has all the new games and much better looking ones at that.

This would negate the point of the joycons?

Which ended up as exactly that. Drama. If there was an actual problem with bending and scratching, you'll be hearing it non-stop up until now as the designs had never changed yet. Nevermind the fact that it's still a $300 piece of electronic and should be protected like one regardless.

nope. just today in the new media create. the 3ds family is holding the 3rd and 4th places in sales beating the ps4 pro and new xbox

How is this missing the point you fucking faggot?
Removing the feature the Switch has its name from is fucking retarded.
Thats what OPS image implies.

The second post i quoted is complaining about "real battery".
Did you see the pictures of an opened Switch?
The battery is huge part of it and you cant fit anything there anymore.
So everything i said is based on fact and not some stupid wish from retarded Sup Forumsirgins who complain for the sake of complaining.

lol you're still a stupid tripfag, that's the point you missed

For it to scratch the screen you have to put the Switch into the Dock while it's covered in some kind of coarse object, like sand and crumbs.

For it to bend the screen you seriously need to put it in the dock, place the dock on a radiator, wood stove, stove, or fire. Then be retarded enough to blame it on the dock/switch.

While this seems like a good idea, the big issue if the switch mini concept is how you can't switch joycons in and out. The Switch's ability to change joycons addresses issues that plagued the 3DS family of systems and other handhelds - buttons and sticks that stop working over time because of prolonged use. Smash 3DS killed a ton of people's 3DS circle pads, which were solidly attached to the system..

I would like a Switch mini, but replaceable joycons is actually a good concept and should be kept imo. If this means a series of events smaller joycons, I could accept that.

Hell, no most games look like ass on handheld mode and they are some blurry it hurts the eyes.
Mario is the worst offender, Splatoon right after which hurts the gameplay.

by like a half hour. not worth the difference in cost.

I just really really really want them to make some wider joycons with traditional offsets and a dpad.

>making the already wide system even wider
Just buy a Wii U

That mini-Switch thing is retarded.
But I'm pretty sure there will be a Switch Pro or something like that in about two years. Cuz let's face it : Zelda is out, Mario is out... Nintendo doesn't have anything else to appeal players.
An upgraded system is the next move.

>nothing else
>With Metroid and Kirby around the corner

>Why do people keep saying this? It can fit into a pocket easily, joycons and all
Fitting a switch in your pockets at all says a lot about you.
Nothing good btw

wouldn't be surprised if we saw a botw/odyssey sequel in a few years. also pokemon/animal crossing haven't released yet and those are immensely popular especially with the normie crowd.

>Nintendo doesn't have anything else to appeal players
>Metroid
>Kirby
>fucking console tier Pokemon
????

Adding to this it's either super super baggy pants that no doubt make you look like a retard, or being a huge fat ass

Looking through the 3ds seems like to be a Switch XL more than a Switch mini to me.

he meant to appeal to fotm players who stop caring about a game when people stop talking about it

It's about giving the handheld better controls, and it's already stupid large for a handheld so making it marginally wider for better controls wouldn't make any difference.

If you can fit a switch in your pocket you are probably a fat fuck American. I can barely fit my phone in my pocket.

I fucking hate ideas like your mockup where it's just some poorfag removing features and functions to make a cheap version of the machine.

Do people actually still carry electronics in their pockets other than phones? I'm in my mid-twenties for reference, but I thought people generally carried bags these days.

Other than the d pad the controls are fine unless you have sausage fingers

you mean like nintendo did with the 2ds?

>REEEE GIVE ME A SWITCH THAT LOOKS LIKE A NORMAL HAND HELD GAMING DEVICE
webmd.com/brain/autism/autism-symptoms#1
>A need for sameness and routines.

people don't care about metroid and kirby games are all glorified gameboy advance games

I weigh 130 pounds and the switch fits in my pocket just fine, even with a case. Just the red joycon sticks out a little bit. These are just Levis.

Nintendo isn't going to make a version without the joy cons.
And i'll bet 5 bags of crows dicks on this.

really happy with my 2ds. buttons feel great to press. certainly better than the og3ds. wish they hadn't moved the power button though. annoying to press where it is

Take a picture of yourself with the switch in a case in your pocket.

Are you a yuropoor woman? Only women and broke people don't have pockets big enough to hold a real wallet

>I fucking hate the joycon gimmick not everyone wants to play with friends on a tiny 7 inch screen using a shitty ass tiny controller with lack of inputs.
You realize Switch is compatible with USB controllers right? Fuck, if you have the gamecube adapter from Smash 4, you can even just plug in 4 GCN controllers. Works pretty well for Mariokart. You realize that you should own or plan on owning atleast one extra set of joycons or a pro controller right? The individual joycons as a multiplayer tool are centered the idea of doing co-op "on the go" in portable mode.

Updated docking capable of 4k or 60fps or 1080p or whatever. Not all of them at the same time of course

>that image
That's a Vita.

>I can't fit the Switch in my pocket

I'd rather a budget console-only switch with bigger Joy Cons. I hate handheld controls.

Sub 200 is delusional. 200 would be an ideal price.

Yes like the 2DS. Ever meet somebody who owns a 2DS? The 2DS was a fucking retarded joke for idiots, so my point stands. Nobody thinks these pared down models are actually any good, it's just an option for whiny poorfag shitters.

The new 2ds xl is arguably the best way to go buying a 3ds now.

You can still dock it.
If there was another SKU the exact same size of the current switch we have without detachable joycons we could get a 20-50% battery size increase and more ergonomic controls
If you use the detachable controllers outside of your house you need to kill yourself

I wear normal sweat pants and shorts, its compact enough to fit easy in pockets

You're retarded. It's not pocket ready and I say that as somebody who weighs 230 pounds. The joycons alone are a complete barrier to this. You're gonna fucking mangle them by pocketing it.

Not even at all.

ESPECIALLY since it's a "New" 3DS which would have the eyetracking functions that make the 3D function truly viable and stable. New 3DS is the right way to go. Not 2DS. Never 2DS.
