And nothing of value was lost.
But Westwood...
literally who
Which one does it hurt the most? Maxis for me.
LucasArts.
They were all shit anyway and made shitty games. Good riddance.
>he never played Neverwinter Nights
Poor soul.
You have to be over 18 to be on this site.
Bioware was on the decline even before EA got them though
Thanks Jeremy Soule!

Bullfrog and Westwood.
Lucasarts and Bullfrog hurt the most
EA is pure evil.
>EA pressures Bullfrog to rush Ultima
stopped reading there
Is a nigga gonna update this for Respawn??
>the agony of Saint Lord British.
Remember that brief period, around when Mass Effect came out, that it looked like EA was starting to take a new direction and not be complete shitheels?
Seems really naive now.
Forgot PopCap.
How is it even legal for them to have a monopoly with sports games?
Maxis for me too. I will never recover from Spore fail.
Sadly, it seems like Bioware is next
definitely these, those companies practically invented genres. no telling what else they might have accomplished if they hadn't been murdered
They don't have a monopoly on sports games, they hold the exclusive license for most sports to use the actual real team names, logos and player likenesses/names.
You can make a game 5 times better than FIFA (and it's been done at least once), but it doesn't have real football star faces on the cover so it tanks (and it's happened at least once).
I think this was actually challenged in court not too long ago but the challenge failed, because no one really cares enough to put effort into it, and the courts can't take video games seriously unless it's about how violence is impacting children.
Black Box definitely, I've spent too many hours on NFS ug1 all the way to prostreet
Even though I still like Spore I'm sad because I will never get to play the fully realised and completed Spore
Pandemic hurts my heart
Bioware because it was the only one everybody saw coming from day one. All anyone could do was watch it crumble though.
Absolutely not. Mass Effect was actually when I started getting worried about Bioware turning to shit. The game was still good and had plenty of deeper mechanics, but the dialogue wheel and focus on action gameplay over stat/build management felt like steps in a bad direction. Dragon Age Origins belayed those fears a little, but Mass Effect 2 made realize there was no stopping EA from corrupting Bioware like all the rest.
Westwood mostly, because most of my childhood was filled with Tiberium and Red Alert games. However what happened to Viceral and Dead Space after 2nd game made me more furious than ever. I had to spend couple months reading what happened to 3rd one and everything was pointing at EA, not at Viceral itself.
Criterion Games. The Burnout Series were the only racing games I could tolerate after Mario Kart.
Needs an update with Respawn. Titanfall 3 is going to be awful.
