Should I get DOOM or Super Mario Odyssey? I know it should be obvious, but Odyssey looks kind of boring, and I'm not sure if I will enjoy running around collecting like 900 something moons randomly. DOOM seems fun, at least running around murdering aliens and demons, though I guess it gets boring after a while. Also I am curious about Odyssey since EVERYONE is saying it's the greatest thing on the planet right now.

>and I'm not sure if I will enjoy running around collecting like 900 something moons randomly.
Then don't do it, just do the main stuff and play until you get bored. It's not like you are forced to complete it 100%
But isn't that what makes the game longer? Collecting moons? How long is the story? I figured it's not a very long story, and I'd hate to spend $60 dollary doos on a game that gives me 10-15 hours of entertainment. I figured the whole gimmick of the game was "Come collect 900+ moons!" That's what Nintendo was banking on when players bought it, doesn't matter if the story itself is short. They just wanted people to be enthralled with collecting 900 something moons by completing tasks and exploring.
Wait until Friday and get skyrim
>and I'd hate to spend $60 dollary doos on a game that gives me 10-15 hours of entertainment.
Then why are you even considering Doom?
Anyway, If you expect zero monotony in 50+ hours of collecting you are going to be disappointed, but it's still a fantastic and very addictive game
Have you ever played a 3D Mario game?
Mario won't go anywhere. It can wait. Doom however has an online multiplayer mode which might be dead in a month. There's merrit in buying it now.
>MAN GAME VS BING GAME
HHMMMMM
I own both and I would put DOOM on hold for consideration, the Switch port needs some serious patching atm.
PEGGY EIGHTEEN
Do you like using wide arsenal of game mechanics to progress in the game?
>Mario Odyssey
Do you like to press X for an epic kill animation?
>DOOM
>Odyssey looks kind of boring
Why do you have a Switch?
That's a good question, personally I regret buying it because I've hated mostly everything that has come out on it. Even Zelda was kind of boring to me as well, though Xenoblade looks fun. Also we've been getting a lot of re-releases like Dragonball and Skyrim, which I already played. I was going to get Sonic Forces but it's garbage, and DOOM I've heard isn't that great either.
You wanna play FPS with Switch? Just buy DOOM for pc
You should just go for Odyssey if your main concern is that it could get boring, if you get into it you will understand why some people enjoy collecting the moons.
Odyssey is the best thing on the Switch, D44M isn't even a good doom game, in fact its absolute shit. Just go play the first 2 instead.
sounds like you have the shittest taste imaginable if you were looking forward to sonic forces, jesus christ
Both.
Odyssey is a fucking blast, and Doom on handheld mode is fucking amazing.
Well it looked fun originally, but I'm not planning to get now that all the reviewers claim it's trash.
>Well it looked fun originally
pls be joking, how did you look at that poor effort at yet another green hill zone rehash and think it looked good?
it was the only thing they really showed before review copies went out, too.
You've never played doom champ. Go back to your bing bing wahoos
DOOM is even shorter so I'm not sure why you're making this argument.
Don't rush the main story in mario and the post game keeps you playing for more. Not even "grinding" but unlocks new kingdoms, challenges and more. Had a blast, clocking with 500+ moons and the speedruns are great. Just do it man.
>Waiting for a 3d sonic to be good
555-come-on-now
>looked fun originally
only the first teaser looked intriguing to see what's about to come
>all the reviewers claim it's trash
yet you come to Sup Forums for help on what game you should play
wew lad.
either way, Doom is fun and all, but it's more repetitive than mario. You can't argue spending 60 bucks and doing same thing over and over again. Mario has different worlds, different characters, different ways of doing things, very open about how you go on with the story etc. Sometimes I boot up, go to wooded kingdom and just jump around and listen to the music. It's a game you can't watch and enjoy, rather you have to play it to understand.
I'm in a similar place as op. Should I get doom or super bomberman R. I like both franchises, bomberman is cheaper and also just got a big content patch. Doom is portable doom which is pretty baller too. Any thoughts?
Get Odyssey, then Skyrim and then Doom if you haven't played any of those
I haven't even played Odyssey but don't spend full price on Doom, the game is repetitive as fuck and gets old after 5 hours
Don't listen to the fags in this thread; Doom is excellent. But get Odyssey.
You're a fucking faggot. Didn't make it past the first sentence.
>playing a high framerate fps game on a switch and missing a first party nintendo title
Please never, ever reproduce.
