Bethesda hate boner.

the only edge FO3 has over New Eggas is it having Tunnel Snakes

More endings and a storyline that doesn't fuck with the lore.

i liked that it had the strip and a central city. but it wasnt that much better

Tunnel Snakes rule!

New Vegas has a lot of ties to the original two games.

much better story
much better RPG mechanics
overall upgrade in all fields

the only thing that is worse is the bugs

It's discussed literally every day. Stop asking this question.

Actual RPG mechanics executed well
Good quests
inb4 bethesda shill squad shows up

>mfw they do and retard console virgins show up thinking they're in good company

You know...

>Good quests

>no retarded Oblivion-tier level scaling where Feral Ghoul Super Saiyan Gods start spawning literally everywhere once you hit a certain level

in addition the points people above have made.

Nothing fucking pisses me off more than level-scaled global random encounters.

New Vegas takes some effort to immerse yourself in, you have to pay attention to the writing. 3 is a lot easier on the player you can jump in and feel like part of the world based on the prologue alone, it's not as fleshed out and your participation is not a required to get the most out of it, you're also not really rewarded for trying to dig deeper.

That's my New Vegas the setting was unimpressive to me the first time I played the game, cause I wasn't really willing to give it the time it deserved, so I regarded the map as trash and thought 3 was much stronger.

I prefer NV, but I'm glad somebody made an image like this. That quest total image that people get referred to all the time is such bullshit, so many of the sidequests in NV are incredibly barebone with almost nothing at all to them.

More freedom to play how you want
Better story with endings based on your actions
Aiming down sights and weapon attachments
More interesting factions

Because it is.

>NV-type spinoff game on 4's engine
when

SUPER FERAL GHOUL SUPER GHOUL GOD SUPER FERAL!

That's a pretty fair image. Still prefer NV though.

>i want you to tell any and all NCR members the horrors you witnessed here
>and by any and all i mean one specific guy back at the NCR outpost you have to backtrack to get to, you literally can’t inform anyone else of this
>he will then respond with "oh shit that’s bad" and give you xp

fantastic fucking quest

>Radscorpion Blanco

>bottom
>a small selection of cherry-picked quests out of the game's many, many, many quests

>top
>Literally every sidequest in the game

SUPER MUTANT GOD POTARA FUSED WITH SUPER MUTANT DOG WITH ULTRA INSTINCT

i really loved 3 and new vegas, i hate how you fuckers act like you have to decide
4 was a fucking train wreck though

Agreed on everything.

I'd like to address something.
A lot of people like to bring up Fallout 3 having nothing but good guys and bad guys as a sign of it being inferior to New Vegas, because New Vegas has many different factions.
But when you think about it, 3 is much more faithful to the originals in some ways:
>1 had evil mutants vs rest of humanity, your goal was getting water chip to save vault
>2 had evil enclave vs rest of humanity, your goal was getting GECK to save tribe
>3 had evil enclave vs brotherhood, your goal was getting GECK to save wastes
>New Vegas had romans vs really old dictator vs california vs you and an immortal robot, your goal was taking over a dam because why the fuck not

This isn't really a fair comparison because the two games don't handle quests the same way.
It's easy for every Fallout 3 quest to have two or three choices, because every quest is a theme park ride that has no impact on the rest of the game.
With New Vegas, most of the sidequests you do are interconnected via whichever faction you've chosen to side with. The New Vegas sidequests listed in the image are all basically just small pieces of one giant branching quest chain.

I think it also had to do with location and setting. New Vegas felt fun as fuck to explore, with every nook and cranny having something tucked away, where as 3 was either OPEN BROWN AREA or DEBRIS CITY. Nothing else.

shandification : ^ )

Fallout 3 is a better game, but it's extremely fashionable to be anti-bethesda especially after the whole creation club thing

Fallout 4 is fun

That's actually one of the big problems I have with Fallout 3, it feels like it's just rehashing things people will recognize from the earlier games without doing anything new or interesting with them.
Super mutants are just dumb orc monsters for the player to shoot, the conflict between the BoS and Enclave is bland because of how morally black and white it is, and the potentially interesting conflict between the new and old BoS is glossed over because the BoS "outcasts" are just a contrivance to explain why the BoS is the way it is.
Even when Fallout 3 has good ideas of its own, it doesn't do anything good with them.

bump

>2017
>neo Sup Forums is still falling for this stale fallout NV vs fallout 3 bait

this, locations were much more interesting in NV

DLC was also better for new vegas

...

i also liked the mojave more
just because something has an urban setting doesn’t means it inherently better
especially when it’s just ghouls mutants and subways

Those are just the sidequests for both. Learn to read.

FNV has The Kings so...

>loved 3 but hates 4

why
4 is 3 except actually good

Jesus Christ, Medium Pete was a nightmare

B A S T A R D

Because for some reason unfinished garbage appeals to Sup Forums so long as Obshitian is responsible for it

actually its not, and before you call me names, I like NV more too, but a surprisingly large number of people prefer Fo3 to it

new vegas map is trash filled with invisible walls

New Vegas fucked up Brotherhood of Steel big time, in FO1 they actually helped reintroduce some technology, they took dangerous stuff, taught people how to use it and then gave it back, sure they were wary of outsiders and standoffish. But the game literally tells you that BOS gave NCR a ton of tech. Yet for some retarded as fuck reason NV states that the BOS is fighting NCR for tech, even though THEY ARE THE ONES WHO GAVE THE TECH TO THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE, even if you negotiate peace between the two factions in the Mojave, the prologue will tell you that fighting actually continues elsewhere. Which is retarded, but ofcourse obsidian fanboys completely ignore this because its literally ok when Obsidian does it

love nv but fuck those mountain invisible walls

I thought it was implied but I guess I should've clarified, I was referring specifically to Sup Forums. Fallout 3 seems to mostly be considered a travesty where as NV was Sup Forums's second best game of all time in 2014.

play them and find out for yourself

It's a meme opinion but 3 generally is more fun to explore than NV even though NV does have a slightly better designed world.

>i also liked the mojave more

agreed. roaming around the desert with a revolver was comfy as fuck

IN THE SHADOW OF THE VALLEY

>what are fallout 3 metros

This will trigger NewVegababies

>and a storyline that doesn't fuck with the lore.
You replied to the wrong thread

How did Vault Tec get FEV? Under Bethesda, it seems like the government handed that shit out like hot cakes.

>I love walking through the same copy pasted tunnels over and over
Why?

youtube.com/watch?v=hqMblpSqhgM

Just post this.

better desertshit

They were working hand-in-hand with the goverment
>Under Bethesda, it seems like the government handed that shit out like hot cakes.
You mean Black Isles

No it isn't

>small section of the map with a logical reason for inaccessibility vs. entire swathes of the map being inaccessible for no reason
also
>starting the game and forcing the character down a narrow path by placing OP NPCs in the way

I liked the northeast part of the map with The Republic of Dave and Old Olney and all those places

t. horrible at new vegas

>being this mad
nice try revisionist Fallout 3 will go down as one of the best in history

Yeah, but the government gave FEV specifically to West Tek to develop while Vault Tec went on to make... well, the vaults to conduct SOCIAL experiments.

B-b-b-b-but there's exactly one other path to take!

>can't refute his argument
>so you just call him names
This is why you left /fog/, you couldn't handle criticism

>DUDE JUST FOLLOW THE HIGHWAY LMAO, BULL AND BEAR DUDE

They had Jet in the Sierra Madre.
A hotel that had been on lockdown since the great war.

Nobody has ever given a fuck about Fallout lore.

>can't refute his argument
you can go in literally any direction you want if youre even remotely good at the game, you arent "forced" into going south

This is why NV has the worst fanbase on Sup Forums.

I rate Fallout 4 over Fallout 3 as a standalone game, and give them an "equally shit" rating as Fallout games, albeit Fallout 3 is the better RPG (though it's still shit for roleplaying)

Yeah, social experiments like Vault 22, right?
Vault-Tech did experiments in general, being given access to the virus is plausible.

New Vegas DLC had one very big problem, they were very combat heavy, but combat sucks ass in fo3 and nv, you would think that a game that generally has lots of options for non-combat playthroughs would also let you fight less in the DLC, but no, its gotta be a horrid slog

>has horses, even though they are extinct
>the whole mess with BoS
>says that mr handy is RobCO even though its general attomics
>sunset saparasila is stated to be both older and newer than nuka cola
>has quantum coke banners even though its never been on the east coast
>even though NV was never nuked, the game states that before House rebuilt it it was a shithole filled with raiders and tribal
Oh and just tribals in general, I am bothered by the very concept of it

>Game tells you the quarry is full of deathclaws
>NPCs tells you the quarry is full of deathclaws
>NPCs avoid the quarry full of deathclaws
>Player can choose to go through the quarry full of deathclaws and ignore the warnings
>Making it through the quarry full of deathclaws is more than feasible

fallout 1 is by far the best, 2 is filled with memes and has a very one dimensional antagonist

DUDE JUST DON'T DO THAT LMAO dumb faggot

You're literally trying to bullshit people who know the truth.

I should confess I don't like how Vaults in New Vegas were handled since I liked the idea of them in the classic series, so that point about Vault 22 is a bit moot for me.

I'm sure the old man was dosing up

>Filling the most direct path to Vegas with Cazdors
bravo obsidian

The writing and worldbuilding of New Vegas is quite literally 10 years in the making, because it recycles contents from Van Buren the cancelled Fallout 3 project. Bethesda's Fallout 3 never had a chance in the first place.

Are you having fun lying to anonymous people on the internet?

>quite literally 10 years in the making
>still couldn't finish the game on time

This, The Master is literally the best cRPG antagonist of all time.

Not in the village in the hotel you had to break into.

>this what NuVegababies believe

>Making it through the quarry full of deathclaws is more than impossible*
FTFY

Deathclaws have maximum detection, sneaking can not get you through.
Deathclaws are 3x faster than the player, booking it will not get you through.
The only way through is to cheat.

Same shit with the cazadors.

Writing part was basically done but they still only got one year to create all the other assets for the game after Bethesda let them use their shitty excuse of an engine.

>if it doesn't fit my argument then you can't use it
Your argument is null

You do know there's a guaranteed stealth boy you can obtain 5 minutes after starting the game specifically to use for that area right? They actually thought of people who'd want to use that shortcut.

>actually getting this mad

> Master: I make master race
> VD: Ummm they have no benis
> Master: I must die now

Brought a tear to my eye.

ive ran/sneaked past the quarry so many times with

Use chems

I'm just saying from the classic games, only West Tek got FEV and Vault Tec only had the social experiments to assist the remnants of the government (The Enclave) in rebuilding society for space exploration. It wasn't until post-Bethesda buyout that FEV got traded around the country.

>Deathclaws have maximum detection

You're not even trying

Which exactly?
