>there will never ever be a good modern Bionicle game
All I want is a cool RPG or something.
...
The lore rape was painful
reminder this game came out 11 years ago
also, it was released on every console possible
Anyone ever play the GBA Maze of Shadows game? Was it any good? I heard it follows the book pretty closely.
If you want an RPG, you should look for an emulator or whatever for VNOG (Voya Nui Online Game)
This is the best of the modern lego collectathons (Lego Star Wars and up)
Second is Lego Movie Game
Third is Lego LOTR
Which Bionicle game ended with you saying "let us awaken the great spirit" and cracking open this big gate? Final boss was on an elevator or something. It's in my memory but I can't remember it for shit
That game is cool but it would just be nice to see something new in a similar vein. Imagine having a shitload of different builds and playstyles based on what masks and weapons you equip for different elemental abilities and stuff.
The original lore is cool too, it would be nice to see it revisited even though that will probably never happen either.
>not the Mata Nui online game
Yeah that would be awesome. Which Skyrim mod is that btw?
Legend of the Toa I think.
I wish they didn't have to ass pull new heroes every fucking set, like Jesus Christ, how many times can you save the fucking mask planet?
When I was 12, I stole my dad's VHS with taped porn on it, and then put it in my Bionicle Mask of Light case.
Many a faps were had.
The EA game.
>save the fucking mask planet?
>planet
user, don't tell me you don't know the truth about Mata Nui.
Isn't it just a mask? Or some gay shit?
It was something stupid like that.
Man that game was fucking rad. I need to play it again. Is it worth emulating the Wii version or should I stick with the GC version?
>it was released on every console possible
Younger me will be eternally buttblasted at the lack of a PSP version
>kills everyone
>literally just xenoblade chronicles
The story really is still stupid.
By then they all were back inside him you silly goose.
Holy shit it just keeps getting worse user
They had it all planned like that since the very beginning
as a hardcore bonkleman:
FUCK NO
It was inspired when one of the lead creators had some sort of cancer and needed to take pills.
He then imagined those pills contained heroes fending off the cancer or something like that.
That's why the Toa were in canisters
No worse than what it was in the Star Wars games.
>the Kashyyyk level in 1 where the clones and droids fight side by side
Eh, not canon.
I give it a 10/10 just for the soundtrack.

wtf is J2ME
It's a toyline man, have to have new heroes on the shelves for the kids. At least all of the main heroes were characters we already knew from the early years, and any random new OCs were kept to the sidelines.
The 03 one was worse cause that one actually tried to stick to the story. Bionicle Heroes openly didn't give a fuck.
Reminder that Matoro died for your sins
It was an attempt at a love letter for the few who knew what the fuck was going on with the lore.
Also while utter shit, the models did resemble the original toys quite nicely
That Pohatu sickens me.
this was the best game on Nintendo DS
You sir, I appreciate you

This was the scrapped sequel to the 2003 game. Makes me wonder if they had any sequel in mind for Heroes too, or if it was always meant to be a one off thing.
>mediocre shooter
>completely fails to capture the atmosphere of bionicle
yeah okay buddy
Mata Nui Online Game was better
lmao which game was this?
this
Fuck yeah, was just listening to it earlier today.
you missed out
What's the best way to experience the actual stories? Do I have to track down every individual book? Is there an online archive or something?
You can probably find a lot of them on ebay for cheap, like this one ebay.com
Wow, that's handy. Thanks user. Now that I think about it, I've seen bonkle threads here on Sup Forums before, I'm gonna check fireden to see if there's any MEGA uploads of the books or something to go with this.
also, Chronicles 5, Adventures 4, and Adventures 9 are movie novelizations, so instead of reading those three you can watch their respective films (although iirc the books go into a tiny bit more detail)
I feel pretty conflicted about this series. I think it's cool how they were able to pull all that deepest lore shit in a convincing and cool manner and have it turn out that it was the plan all along and not just last second asspulls. On the other hand, I really don't like that they just straight up explained away most of the mystical magic stuff as sci-fi shit, that Mata Nui's not a god and is in fact just a big robot and that he was built by ayy lmaos.
I actually really enjoyed the harry potter ones on the ds
That's why I think "DEEPEST LORE" is kinda overrated. It sounds neat when you read it on a wiki, but it really has little to do with what makes a story or a universe good
These links from the thread on /toy/ have most of the comics and books.

As I recall, someone wanted to scan the guidebooks too, but hasn't done it so far. If you're after the full experience, you have to play the MNOG and look at the old animations too. The tone and visuals were a major selling point of the franchise.
There was no unified vision, bar a few basic ideas. Lego had no fucking clue what to do with the series, hence why a lot of the stories and the media is disjointed. Every writer, every company took it into their own direction. Greg Farshtey had little interest in the mystical fantasy stuff of the early years, so as he got more influence, he shaped Bionicle in his own image.
I played the DS version, it was fun but completely different from the console version apparently.
