>Square Enix is celebrating the 1 million shipments and digital sales for Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age with a commemorative livestream that might have an announcement that will make fans happy. >The livestream takes place next week on November 21st
So what do you think, user? Will it be a Steam port? Will it be a Switch port? Both? Or will it be fucking nothing like 95% of Jap streams?
Jaxson Anderson
Steam version is already basically confirmed. FFXII-2.
Joseph Scott
Noctis dlc incoming.
Carter Gray
Something for mobile phone.
Brandon Long
>FFXII-2 they already did that
Parker Foster
Revenant Wings will be coming as Free DLC in a complete remake using the new XII engine.
Nicholas King
I don't want anything, it's the least fun I've ever had playing a jrpg.
Luis Long
God, I wish Weak Mode was unlocked from the start
Thomas Peterson
Both of those. There won't be any more Ivalice games.
Ryan Sanders
Reminder that S-E has held pressers like this for dumb things, pic related.
Alexander Jenkins
Wait, it isn't?
Isaac Perry
No, you gotta clear all of Trial Mode first I also can't recall if you can buy 6 Firefly super early either
The game just got too easy and I put it down again It's no fun if the only challenging parts are the last 6 or so hunts
Sebastian Mitchell
>buy steelbook used off amazon for like $40 >case is crushed and held together with tape >call em and get half the price refunded >go to enter in code for the music bs >its been used >don't even know if the disc works beyond starting the game up for five minutes haha
Brody Clark
>no effort remake sold 1 million units
We need to find out why the Final Fantasy/Square-Enix fanbase is possibly the worst.
Does SE think that their games are some kind of high culture thing or what, how, the stories aren't even good.
Hunter Ward
Why it has to be a port? Maybe it's something entirely new like a DLC o now Trials?
I need more FXII in my life ;_;
Evan Hill
It's called Revenant Wings, a shitty RTS-lite directed by Motomu "I want to marry Lightning" Toriyama.
Lucas Roberts
I wouldn't mind that, actually.
Angel Perry
Where have you been? Yes, most Square-Enix devs think of themselves as trendsetters in the industry and in Japanese culture.
Adam Martinez
What an EGO, I really want to see someone dethrone them, not in quality, they've been beaten in that since day 1, but in prominence, but I guess not every development studio can afford 100 mil advertising budgets for JRPGs.
Luke Harris
Mobile port like what happened with TWEWY
Hudson Long
>Revenant Wings remake never I liked it better than the main game
Carson Campbell
They did get comeuppance. Their absolute failure with Tanaka's XIV 1.0 and Nomura's Versus XIII, causing them to go to Yoshi-P & Tabata to clean up their mess.
Gavin Torres
I haven't really paid any real attention to Final Fantasy or Square-Enix since FFX, I don't actually know who those people are. Or maybe Crystal Chronicles, I think that came out after FFX.
>tabata >ffvii spin offs >agito final fantasy >kingsglaive
>yoshi-p >bomberman 64 but the second attack story >final fantasy xiv oh wait, but a realm reborn and not the original release, still not anything good but the second best MMO by simply not being a complete fucking joke.
Do they just no longer have any good developers?
How the fuck is FFVII-R taking so long, I'm not interested in playing it but isn't the whole game episodic, where is episode 1 at least.
Bentley Brown
The big difference between guys like Yoshi-P & Tabata, besides quality, is that they get things done. Guys like Nomura, Toriyama, Kitase, etc. all take too long and have too high of standards to make any kind of product. In fact, most of the time Nomura is in Shibuya drinking coffee, smoking cigs, and sketching. I highly expect them to throw out everything they have currently in assets and make a new engine for FF XVI. Because they're dumb like that.
Oh and as far as VII-R? Because they have an expectation to have the game be in as high detail as their CG stuff, but have all the content as before. It's a massive undertaking and frankly a mistake to not downgrade a bit so it can actually get made.
Dylan Nelson
Good luck finding a studio that makes JRPG of a more consistent bar in visuals, music, and story together.
Logan White
>everyone forgets about xbone
Adam Turner
That makes sense, I was thinking FFXVI would just be Unreal 4 since FFVII and KH3 are both using it, although I remember seeing something about a new engine.
I don't think FFVII needs a remake, but you're right, it's already miles ahead of the cutscenes for the era.
The only thing they have is visuals though, which for a JRPG they are untopped and I don't expect anyone to top even FFXV in terms of JRPGs for another 2 generations, because Square-Enix spends big on visuals.. music and story have been topped multiple times.
Juan Rivera
Final Fantasy XII: Ivalice Online
Jack Edwards
Playable Moogles, Bangaas, Seeq and Nu Mous as a free update!
Josiah Young
I'm saying all three in one game. Name a game with better story, music, and visuals together.
Jace Hall
I said that there is no JRPG with better visuals in a single game, but Visuals is the only thing that they excel at, at least nowadays.
Josiah Edwards
dude show me an RPG with a better mix of amazing visuals, music, and story. name one
Brayden Jackson
Are you really this fucking dense, that is the shallowest reason to lump on any sort of praise, the game as a whole is good because even though the soundtrack and story are mediocre to shit the visuals being the height for JRPGs magically validates the game as a whole. Persona 5 has a better story, has a great visual style that is every bit consistent in it's approach unlike XV it's visuals won't fade over time, in 10 years compared to games of the time Persona 5 will still look great, FFXV will only look dated with each passing year. and it's soundtrack is better, the only thing XV has on it is technically more detailed graphics, wew laddy.
