Loving it so far, but this has got to be one of the aesthetically chaotic games ever
>jarring mix of real animals and cartoony characters
>naturalistic settings mixed with blocky platforming elements
>sonic rings
>featherless t-rex
>switching between 2D and 3D
>unsettling contrast between Mario and 'real' humans in New Donk City
Some of the assets look like they were straight up lifted from the UE4 marketplace. It’s like the game can’t quite decide what it wants to be
Loving it so far, but this has got to be one of the aesthetically chaotic games ever
would you prefer if it were a giant yoshi instead of an actual t-rex?
Ever been on vacation? That's the feeling the game is meant to invoke.
>featherless t-rex
fuck you
that's kinda the point tho
also this
Nice bait. Why do sonygggers buy Nintendo systems and games just to shot on them? Like you are literally giving them money retard.
Aesthetics are consistent within worlds. Each world is different though.
not op, but this would have made more sense
>vacations are supposed to be ugly and confusing
what did he mean by this?
>>naturalistic settings mixed with blocky platforming elements
Calling bullshit. Post a screenshot example of this or this thread is dead in the water.
random shit like this is everywhere in the game
>>sonic rings
???
I agree, mixing realistic with cartoon characters only ruins the atmosphere of the game.
I like how Odyssey is a big middle finger to globalists
You understand the concept of odyssey though?
those only appear when you put your cap on the scarecrow thing
Dumb mobile poster.
The point of Odyssey is to deviate from the established Mario conventions. Within that context it does make sense.
How to spot a Nintentoddler
>loudly defends Nintendo games with nostalgic hyperbole, logical fallacies, and lies
>deflects criticism, valid or not, with accusations and ad hominem attacks
>projects own insecurities about failing Nintendo IP’s onto superior franchises
>incapable of recognizing the difference between a console and a toy
>gaping, bleeding asshole from constant violent molestation by more mature gamers and Nintendo itself
Keep lying to yourself user
>>switching between 2D and 3D
Not a problem at all. It's seamless and one of the most "aesthetically pleasing" things about the game in my opinion. I loved the 2D segment in the Mushroom Kingdom with the clouds in the background because of how sleek it looked.
I think what binds the aesthetic together is just how abstract the game can get at times. There's consistency in the chaos. Shit's supposed to be jarring and at times otherworldly.
>Read OP
>Almost replied seriously
>Remembered it is nothing more than pasta
The entirety of Bowser's world was pure kino.
That's the fucking point. Leave all of your Mario conventions at the door and experience something completely news and crazy
they could have done that without making the game ugly though
>not even a screenshot, just grabbed from somewhere
I'm calling bullshit.
that's from a let's play
>Faggots bumping this thread
That's not even there normally. That's part of a scarecrow. It's a timer challenge in the "second" world you visit. Throw your hat on a scarecrow, get to the top without having the aid of cappy.
The Sonic 06 of Mario
>I don't like it so it's bad
I think it's the most aesthetically pleasing game ever made.
I like all that though, it's hilariously surreal.
KH did it better. You travel to different worlds, it's immediately obvious that you're in a different world but the style is still consistent. The shit in odyssey just looks like it was outsourced.
...
No, every level looks consistent with the rest. You just have some strange autism.
Is that seriously your stance?
Yes. Do you think our own fucking earth is inconsistent when the Sahara desert and the amazon rain forest exists on the same globe as the Siberian Tundra? There are three jarring things in the game, the T-Rex, the New Donk City Humans, and the Dragon. Two of these things show up for 5% of the game, maybe even less.
Reminder that Delfino Isle is 100% CONFIRMED to be in the game as DLC.
