There is literally no good reason for this cunt to be in bloodborn

there is literally no good reason for this cunt to be in bloodborn

It's in to make you mad

>in DeS this type of enemy was kept in hallways and had a distinct movement pattern to match their brutal grab
>in BB, they completely didn't understand this and shoved them nearly always facing the player, in hordes (like most BB enemies but apparently it is okay when BB does it but awful when DaS2 does)
>and has absolutely fucking lazy super armor to try and counter how garbage the combat is since you can R1 spam

I forgot to mention they also slapped a visible health bar UI on it and called it a """""boss fight"""""

They're weak to pierce attacks user

I want to fuck this

Thrust damage, user. Kills them instantly.

Also fire damage if you're arcane.

They're never facing the player aside from the patrolling ones, which only are facing you if you're retarded and don't watch their pattern, you encounter one at a time at all encounters, and they only have super armor on one attack which can be parried

Those guys are nothing. Now the winter lanterns and anchor shark men. THOSE are actual bullshit.

Why do people hate brainsuckers so much? They're not that hard to deal with.

Now these guys are a headache and a half.

I know kin are weak to arcane either way but isn't bolt damage stronger against it than fire?

Unlike most kin, Brainsuckers are particularly weak to thrust and fire, as well as bolt. Any of those three will dispatch a brainsucker before it even has a chance to grab you.

You can parry them, but god are they horrifying.

Not only is parrying them hard, but if you do, unless you have a metric fucking shit ton of frenzy resist, that frenzy is gonna go off before you have a chance to drink a sedative.

>winter lantern
eh, just parry their grab and the I-frames from the va will save you

can't argue with the shark dudes tho

Is getting grabbed by one of these fuckers just a death sentence or something? The grab damage on top of the frenzy damage, is that ever survivable?

SQUIDDY GENOCIDE WHEN?!

What? I've parried these guys a hundred times, and the i-frames always end before the frenzy meter builds up. What's your secret?

Dude just take the frenzy damage and then get all your health back from the visceral attack, it's what I do.

You get used to it when you farm them for ok blood gems.

This guy gets it. Winter Lanterns are objectively the worst enemy in Bloodborne and I will fucking fight you if you say otherwise. The only other acceptable answer is the shitwhales.

the goal is to time the visceral so that you frenzy while in the visceral animation, causing it to not hurt you.

I've platinumed the game and done all the FRC chalices and still think it's an extremely annoying enemy.

I can't believe I never thought of that. God damn it.

>in hordes
WHERE
FUCKING WHERE
YOU LIE
FUCK YOU

good thing its in Bloodborne and not bloodborn

Lowering your insight increases your frenzy resist

Upper Cathedral Ward I think. He's wrong though, the most you can potentially fight at once is two, and if you're quick enough you can kill the first one before the second one notices. I never have trouble with Brainsuckers or other Kin ever since I upgraded my Tonitrus.

>He's wrong though
My point

Actually OP I would argue they're one of the best enemies in the game because they make you have to have a strategy for tackling one (or more) of them. Most mobs, once you've figured out their attacks, especially in NG+, are run up, attack, time your dodge and attack again - these fuckers will stunlock you to death unless you have a better plan than "run up to them and swing until dead"
It's probably the ONLY enemy I've had to use those stealth potions in the entire game. They piss us off because they go against the first instinct you have with most enemy encounters - chain attacks so they are stunlocked to death. Not these fuckers.

Yes, I know. But even at

That doesn't work, when you get frenzied or rapid poisoned that health is gone for good unlike most attacks.

You want to time your visceral so the frenzy bar fills up entirely during the animation, as you can't take damage during a visceral attack.
