That's the most one-sided review bomb I've seen in a while.

Is this Star Wars Battlefront 2?

Yes.

even if you take out the loot boxes the game's not very good, Sup Forums likes it because this board is full of contrarians, AAA shit-eaters, and shills

So bad that it's good.

I'm glad people are calling out EA on this.

Though I can't help but feel sorry for the actual devs under EA's heel that had to build their games around the higherup's demand for perpetuating profit.

Sup Forums doesn't like it though

Please, there's plenty of threads up on the daily of people defending it, and those who pretend to be stupid attract real dumbasses.

I have literally never seen anyone coming to its defense on Sup Forums
anyone defending EA is literally retarded and not worth listening to

Pretty much all devs say that there are tons of cool people in ubi and ea but sadly the higher ups are the ones that turn everything into shit

You guys see the stats?

That's really, really bad for launch
Like, Battleborn levels of bad

holy fuck

That's for EAfront one

Thats the last one dickhead

Oh wow my bad, super stoned and missed that. Here's current

DUDE

Now you're just being dumb on purpose

>2005
Kek

They really should've called it something else.

Whoa... how will EA ever recover...

>2005

What did you smoke?

great
let it fucking burn and die

I think you're smoking something a little stronger than weed there buddy

This is news to me. I haven't seen a single post here praising it.

Well I mean, if this is how EA dies, it's probably the best way for it to happen with disgruntled customers just leaving wholesale. Should've happened in 2010, but you know.

First time I can be thankful that the Star Wars fanbase is so rabid. FIFA and CODboys just sat on their asses and took the MTX cock like the cuckholds they are.

>DUDE PCP LMAO

maybe bankers will finally get out of vidya?
that's when this nonsense started.

I don't
They're spineless and go with it because money > integrity

I work for Ubi Soft UK in the North East.

We have something called Brand Training once a year. It used to be about how we could compete, now it's about marketing techniques and trends based on wringing cash out of people. The latest one is focused entirely on gamification of the micro-market to make people make more purchases.

I haven't enjoyed my job for almost five years now.

>ea
>die
Lol nah

Make way for the true codboys

They shorted the stock. it's crashing. EA is done. Reddit broke them.

Thats fucked up. I always pick the user score option when looking at games on metacritic. EA might lose money. Is that what you want?

>Sup Forums likes it
kys

They could choose to work somewhere else.
Their company could have chosen to stay away from EA.

Instead they chose death.

Literally why I dropped out of IT uni. Nothing was made because it was useful/fun/never been done before, but everything was about
>how can we make this mundane thing be more like a game
>how can we get most money out of this software
We literally had a class on how to implement ads into your mobile app.

...

EA's too big to die over a handful of critical flops.

Best we can hope for is for devs to dial back on handicapping their own games for the sake of restructuring it around manipulating people to buy more lootboxes.

its more like have a job or don't have a job and that is how the world really works.

...

>Choose to work somewhere else.
Generally difficult, depending on a variety of factors, but a viable option.

>Their company could have chosen to stay away from EA.
Yeah but that doesn't address that majority of employees who likely had no say in the matter.

>Sup Forums likes it
Certainly not this Sup Forums.

Quitting your job based on who your manager sold out to isn't a viable option for everyone though. Integrity doesn't feed your family.

EA wont come close to dying from this. However i think this backlash is going to be big enough to push this lootcrate meme back a few more years so at least there is something good coming from this.

Yes. Their business practices are bad for videogames as an entertainment medium. I'm not sure why you would want them to be successful.

>They could choose to work somewhere else.
Unless you get a lot of people behind this, turning into a one-man-dev studio is a bad decision.
>Their company could have chosen to stay away from EA.
Most likely the employees themselves didn't have much say in this and the people that made the decision are already gone with their money or got a better job at EA.

There are two-sided review bombs?

kek. this is a good meme

Well sort of. For a lot of games there are people leaving inaccurately high OR low reviews based on how much they want to tear down or build up the image of the game. I think what they meant is that almost everyone is just leaving negative ones.

>EA's too big to die over a handful of critical flops.
THQ died over a single flop.

They pour a lot of money into these games. Videogames aren't as forgiving on finances as you'd think, Dead Space 2 barely broke even.

I just think that's mean. What if the EA CEO went broke, sold all their IP's, and killed himself. Would Sup Forums celebrate that?

Do you have a job? I work in respiratory healthcare and the faggots in charge literally kill people due to budgetary decisions. Should I stand up to them, get shitcanned, and have people die due to misplaced nobility?

Yes

The last EA CEO who got fired resulted in a legendary Sup Forums celebration thread.

Why such an extreme example? If the company lost a significant amount of their wealth and power, I think it would be good for the industry. I'm not asking for anyone to kill themselves. They don't even need to sell all of their IP's.

How old are you?

>decide to work for EA
>expecting me to feel bad for you

I forgot autists don't understand subtle humor. I was askig questions that would result in obvious yes'es.

>I was merely pretending to be retarded.

Ok.

There's a marketing tactic based on 'False Problems and Doubt' which is how the majority of selling works.

Basically you generate a false issue, make the customer doubt themselves and sell a solution.

Reviews work similarly - Review bombs something as utterly terrible, then spam positive reviews. Outweigh the negative ones and people consulting the information no longer see the negatives as reliable information and buy the product.

rip in peace john ravioli

I doubt that a big name like Star Wars won't be breaking even just because critical reception is bad though.

i checked out the game for free from work and got to play it some. ive just been playing the campaign and its pretty entertaining so far.

deal with it

>SWOTOR
>300 Million to make
>Flopped by critical acclaim
>Still generates a product

Nah mate. EA will rule us all.

Not everyone gets a say in who their boss signs a Faustian contract with.

>E3 2018
>EA conference
>EA CEO gets on stage
>Pulls out an envelope from his jacket
>Budd Dwyer Remastered

Star Wars games have failed in the past.

I'd find it hard to believe that Star Wars Battlefront won't break even either - if it weren't for people attacking the moneymaker aspect, the MTX, which is what they're banking on.

>Sup Forums likes it

Post yfw you didn’t buy battlefront 2

If every dev stood up for themselves and told EA they wouldn't make any games until they were allowed to make them the way they wanted to, then either EA would give in to the devs, or production would skid to a halt (eventually forcing EA to cave regardless)
No production = no money, and that scares businesses more than anything else
That's why to this day, strikes still work

It only takes a couple of months to set up a new studio from scratch, and a couple of weeks to acquire an existing one.

Tbh you have to give EA some props, they know how to make money.

i did buy it

Cool stuff. I won't spoil the ending for you, since it's impossible.

Those are what would be called 'scabs'
They're temporary workers and they rarely work out in the long term
The backlash from a situation where devs go on strike from EA would be a PR nightmare for EA and in effect, for Disney, and Disney definitely wouldn't allow that; they've already reportedly stepped in with this Battlefront situation

>ea game gets lots of hype
>ea rides on wave of goodwill
>releases beta with mobile app tier monetization
>collective internet throws a shitfit
>ea goes back on the monetization techniques as was planned all along
>"s-see aren't we the good guys now"

Impossible? Guess ill ditch this thread before spoiler. I hope you don't mean impossible as in it doesn't fit in with the canon. So far its seemed pretty tied in as a bridge between stories

>implying they'd ever be dumb enough to try broken windows fallacy

That's a nice fantasy, but programmers aren't going to unionize. The job can and will be done by 20 year olds with starry eyes who can't wait to make videogames and pajeets in India who will code for 3 cents an hour. Trying to unionizing making videogames would be like trying to unionize teenagers mowing their neighbors lawn. There's effectively an infinite supply of people who are willing to ignore any strikes and work as scabs

Rocking the boat when you're expendable and expecting all of your peers along with every other developer to do the same is a pretty high risk.

And even if it wasn't they're not just going to throw management out the window and give complete creative freedom to everyone with an interesting idea. Evil corporate overlords or not, budgeting multi-million dollar projects doesn't work that way.

>Sup Forums likes it

haha I see what you did there my friend well memed heres your (you)

Are you literally 12? Do you know anything about the real world?
Strikes that work often work around more necessary and public services for contract renegotiations, and in many of those cases the government can force you back to work during negotiations if you're deemed a necessity. This isn't going to work a bunch of code monkeys who don't like the ethics of their employer after signing a contract. Join us in the real world any fucking time.
t. active member of a union.

That's a damn shame, hope things turn around for you out there user.
There's just no love in this industry anymore outside of the indie scene.

>20 year olds with starry eyes who can't wait to make videogames
And we'd see more and more repeats of the Mass Effect Andromeda clusterfuck...it wouldn't end well
>pajeets in India who will code for 3 cents an hour
I don't think there would be a very strong market for a bunch of Clean Pregnant Elsa's Ears games with microtransactions
>opens loot box
>"ALRIGHT! I got the rare vaginal dilator & thermal q-tip cards!"

...

hey me too

That thread was amazing

Has anyone ever tried suggesting the idea of making a good game to get a large playerbase and then putting in low-cost entirely cosmetic items?
R6S seems to be doing well by it and they can actually continue to work on developing the game itself

>No fucking argument of any fucking kind.
>He doesn't have a union.
>He's never been on strike.
Please shut the fuck up retarded teenager.

Yeah, EA execs crying themselves to the bank.

...

RAPED

If anyone at DICE gave a fuck, why hasn't there been constant leaks about this shit tier loot box system?

How naive can one man be?

This is what happens when you use logic and sound arguments in this place.

>This same guy posting his same but muh devs post

Jesus Christ dude give it a rest it's fucking dice they deserve everything they get. This is like feeling sorry for bioware.

Why does this make reddit so angry?

>>argh I hate this game fuck EA
>ok then why don't you buy something else?
>>YOU JUST DON'T GET IT OK

multiplayer balance kikebag

>>ok then why don't you buy something else?
Thats exactly what people are doing. They are calling out their bullshit and vote with their wallet
