the very first mission is called "the cleaner" and has Iden single-handedly blowing through a shitload of rebels after escaping from captivity

one of the other missions has you going from blowing away rebels in space to landing in a rebel capital ship and sabotaging it from within

i'm pretty sure neither of these missions are all that different form what you do in rebel mode, they're just cooler

No, and the enemy AI is dumb as fuck. Spent all infantry sections easily headshotting everyone. Only ever died by accident either by blowing myself up with a badly aimed thermal detonator bouncing off something back into my face, falling off a ledge, or barely clipping something in a starfighter section and exploding.

He should have had a plan that would get revenge on the rebels after his death rather than something that would be more likely to drive everyone to their cause at once. But I guess people thought it'd be POETIC AND SMART to have the emperor start the rebellion literally and fill them up with people, rather than it being an organic reaction.

So you're saying it's in character for Palp to be so smart he can out maneuver multiple factions into creating an empire for him, but the minute he's in charge he has to become a dribbling retard that thinks things like project cinder would work. I'm not saying it's out of character for him to want to destroy the entire galaxy, I'm saying it's out of character for the way he tried to go about it. The actual palpatine with good writers would have done something a lot more subtle to ruin things for everyone. The vast majority of the protagonists in Star Wars before Disney acquired it were men, the only major exceptions where arguably Ahsoka and the canon portrayal of the KOTOR 2 protagonist, and there has been some hilariously ridiculous Mary Sue bullshit there too like all of the shit Starkiller could pull out of his ass or Anakin Skywalker's entire existence.

Mate, you can over simplify anything to make it sound dumb. And yes, prequels are pretty fucking stupid but you can't say it wasn't subtle when no one had a vague idea what was going on IN SETTING until it was too late. Even the people freaking out about the death of democracy didn't suspect a thing about him. And he worked up to that shit for decades.

Well you're wrong, we're not going to agree on this no matter how much we argue about it probably. This is a fundamental disagreement about him, and from my point of view 99.999% of the lines he ever speaks in the movies has long term goals in mind. Convert luke to use him as a puppet to strengthen his grip on the galaxy. Convert annakin to destroy the jedi temple and have a new long term apprentice. Everything he said in politics had the longterm goal of making himself Emperor. Even the "I am the senate" was of the mindset that if he let himself be arrested he wouldn't be able to eliminate more threats to his reign at a critical time. He isn't perfect, and he's evil, but he's hardly as you describe him about not being one to have long term subtlety as a weapon in mind. Even the destruction of alderaan was with the mind of longterm fear in the empire alongside destroying his enemies's main recruiting grounds.

And again, it's more retarded to think it'd ever work than his character should be written to be. Not even the nazis would have carried out that kind of order by the majority.
