STILL no information about DLC pack 2

>STILL no information about DLC pack 2
it comes out in a month what the fuck nintendo

This. I thought this was a fucking video about DLC 2, what the FUCK.

We'll probably get a trailer at the Game Awards

Literally.

you know, I actually think you're right

>they are still working on the DLC
Will we actually get it this year?

...

Delayed for sure.

they still said "later this year", which is bizarre as the year is about to fucking end

This gives me hope it's something substantial. The enemy variety was so underwhelming, even 1 fucking new enemy type would get me excited.

don't get your hopes up for absolutely nothing. I loved BOTW but right now I'm hoping for absolutely nothing beyond some additions to the game. Keep your expectations low

Stop posting fucking youtube links and saying NINTENDO WON if it isn't about DLC pack 2. I've been tricked twice already. Fuck this thread.

>We're glad mario has only been out for a week

oh you smarmy cunts

they're not wrong, though.

We'll get the Champion's Ballad trailer at The Game Awards and it might even release right then and there.

Oh they're pretty low, so it wouldn't hit me too hard if it's just more shrine shit and fetchquests and recycling the same enemies. Actually nvm, I would be bummed.

Any thoughts for DLC2? It's supposedly more story oriented, so I'm hoping it involves the Champion's backstories while also assembling a new team with Sidon, Riju, Teba, and Yunobo.

I have no idea how they'll incorporate Zelda, since I assume she'll be traveling with Link.

useful

Either Nintendo wins or Nintendo wins...

I hope it'll involve repairing hyrule in some way, but I suspect it'll heavily focus on the new champions with some extra backstory of the dead champions, a sort of "passing the torch" moment to tie the loose ends for the new champions they introduced. I don't really know how the extra dungeon will fit into it all, though. Perhaps you enter it to train with the new champions?

Now I understand

I hope so, they better not rush it like they the main game.

I hope the new dungeon is more like Hyrule Castle, but I also wouldn't mind revisiting the Divine Beasts prior to the new dungeon and doing different sets of tasks. Maybe to 'transfer' them to the new Champions or something?

I suspect Kass might have a role, since he got new official art. It was released alongside the other Champions' profile art during a Switch system update.

oh kass is no doubt involved in some way, they emphasised him in the trailer thing a while back, and like you said the new artwork. He's also become a fan favorite of sorts as well and nintendo likes to pander to that sort of shit. I'm really curious on what the story will be in the DLC since it's meant to be very story-focused from what they've hinted.

Who fucking cares. Where's the virtual console that's supposed to be free for the first year?

didn't they already say that isn't coming until 2018? also don't remember them ever saying it'll be free for the first year either.

Hopefully no more past shit, it's depressing when all the story takes place in the past. Embrace the present.

Vc was supposed to start rolling out fall 2017 and full release 2018. At which time nintendo sub will be required

They said Switch's online will be a paid subscription, but will be free for the first year of the Switch's lifetime

It took them 4 years to make the barebones BotW, so this is probably just going to be a secret divine beast with a couple new shrines along the way.

pretty sure it'll have some past but mostly focus on the present since it seems like it'll be about passing over the roles of the old champions to the new ones

The development footage they released during a French convention looked like Zelda approaching Riju, but it may have also been a flashback to her recruiting Urbosa. I'm not sure if Zelda being in her blue princess dress lends more evidence to the latter.

They're probably start pushing for it after xenoblade 2 comes out.

I was waiting for them to bow at the end. What we got was better.

>like Hyrule Castle
I hope you just mean in terms of size Hyrule castle was a terrible dungeon, there were zero necessary puzzles.

>that shifty side way look from Takizawa when they mention the director working on the dlc

Size and atmosphere, I guess. I kind of like the idea of exploring a recognisable structure like a 'traditional' Zelda temple. Maybe something in Akala? That region seems like it had a lot of history only hinted at in the main game.

Make a gif version.

Tell me which is more fun out of TP or SS. I've beaten nearly every Zelda game, both 2D and 3D. I finished AoL a few weeks ago, and I only have TP, SS and BotW left. I don't have a Switch yet so BotW's not an option. I've gotten through the pre-dungeon stuff on both.

TP is basically a retread of OoT, but it's a solid game all around with only the Tears of Light segments being a drag. SS has interesting dungeons (Ancient Cistern is one of the series' best imo), but the stuff in between is the fucking worst.

I liked SS more than TP, but I'm in the minority.

I've seen at least 10 shill threads over the last few days that just have a random youtube link followed by "NINTENDO WON"
Why don't mods ban this shill spam?

TP is stale, but still much better than SS. It would be better if you just outright skipped Skyward Sword.

Yep this is probably it

Not him but Hyrule castle was GOAT for me. It's not about necessary puzzles as much as exploring a giant maze-like interior swarming with monsters, secrets, atmosphere and lore.

It was an amazing climax.

Akkala is my favourite region and the tower with its sorroundings is my favourite place in the game. Such a bummer we couldn't explore it inside. It might have a similar atmosphere as the bottom of the well, with all those soldiers hanging there with succumbing to starvation.

>dungeon needs to have puzzles to be good
grow some taste

I hope we'll get some new power of some kind. A new rune and or a champion ability.
Something cool.

I just hope we get something like Hyrule castle again.

¬_¬

I am taking that for granted. Maybe I shouldn't, but I kind of am.

>talking about the DLC
>"we hope you'll play it for a long time"

I hope this isn't a translation error and that the DLC is actually some beefy story and game play content.

no, and stop mobile posting

The thing that gets me is at the end, they said "We hope you'll play it for a long time." Not "We hope you enjoy it" or anything like that. "A long time", implying there's enough content to last for awhile. Possibly a new region map? Or even better, exploring old Hyrule with new temples and shrines?

Can anyone understand Japanese or check other translations to see if that's accurate?

Hey bros. Was upset I couldn't pull the money together to get a Switch when Odyssey drops, and probably won't be able to for a while. I love Nintendo and really want them to succeed but the futures looking bleak from the outside. In my eyes the big boy titles so far: BOTW, Splatoon 2, Odyssey, MK8 Deluxe, Arms, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 were all the games that interested me that have came out this year. The only problem is what's upcoming in 2018? There's the Yoshi and Kirby title that look alright but what else is coming out next year that's worthwhile? I want them to keep there sales up as much as they have been, but it'll be hard if they still aren't continually releasing great games.

>Another year where Nintendo fags claim they won

>Another year where they gloat about ports and Nintendo rehashes and that normies are buying their console while not buying any of the games

>Another generation where Nintendo appeals to casuals while moving no software while Sony ends up pulling the same amount of marketshare but having more software sales

>Another year.

Possibly, we did get the vid 2 years ago of Miyamoto playing the early build.

Even though you're a falseflag i'll let you know nintendo usually announces their shit relatively close to release. By november 2016 we didn't know about Xenoblade 2 and Mario Odyssey didn't even have a name. Hell, we didn't even have a date for BotW.

So they probably got 2018 figured out.

Pokemon and Fire Emblem are due for 2018. Late 2018 for Pokemon, but it's still on the table. Kirby and Yoshi are also slated for 2018, but I don't think anyone's really excited for them. What's really good is that 3rd parties are actually interested in making ports for the Switch unlike the WiiU. Bandai said that they have three new games planned for the Switch (One of which is likely FighterZ, I wouldn't be surprised if another was a Tales game.). Ubisoft and Capcom also saw great success with their games, so Asscreed, Rayman, Monster Hunter, and various other titles could possibly fill in the gap.
Metroid Prime 4's also on the docket, but I don't think anyone expects that game next year.

Overall, I feel like 2018 is gonna be a 3rd Party year until the big Pokemon blowout unless they make more big WiiU ports like Smashbros or Starfox. Plus after they roll out their virtual console service, they'll be rolling in the money. Nintendo may have blown their load early, but the future of the Switch is still looking pretty bright.

Not a falseflag. I just love to see Nintendo succeed more then really anybody else in the gaming space just because of how many ips they have that I personally love. With the announcement of Metroid Prime 4, it makes me hope they can bring back some of there other titles back to there glory like Paper Mario or the sequel to Majora's Mask to conclude 64 Links trilogy that I've been holding out hope for since A Link Between Worlds became a thing.

>inb4 get beaten by some early access shit for goty

Are you trying to say PuBG isn't the most revolutionary and well-made game of all time?

>sequel to Majora's Mask to conclude 64 Links trilogy

Okay falseflag or not this is a terrible idea. What trilogy are you even talking about. Majora was just a game they put together quick for making more profit out of Oot's engine. They never intended for it to become nothing more than that and certainly they don't want you to expect there's nothing else to say about that link.

Wrong guy.

I fucked up, this was meant to reply

The same (((award))) that gives Ashly Burch best performance is not legitimate

Get fucked Nintenkiddies

>the golden joysticks

that's the one nobody cares about right

at least geoff's is for the lols

Confused. But I think it makes all the sense in the world. I don't mean a direct Majora's Mask sequel in Termina per say. More so a completely new game with the engine and items/mechanics from the 64 games. It's known that the Link from those games becomes a Stalfos and becomes Heros Shade in Twilight Princess. Why not a third game that wraps up his story and shows his death or what leads up to it in a finale of sorts? With the 3D games completely remaking and overhauling the games I didn't think a follow up would be the worst idea in the world. It's unlikely, but if they brought back a game world that was 20 years old with the LttP sequel, why not the 64 games? I always dreamed of a game world that included both Hyrule and Termina linked and you could go between the worlds with some objective and story in mind. A completely new area akin to Hyrule or Termina would be cool as well. I'm sure they could pull it off and it could sell well also. Just not knowing what happened to Navi still ticks me off a bit to this day and I'm still hoping to figure out what occurred.

>Timelinefags

Gameplay ideas is what fuels nintendo developing new games. ALBW happened because they wanted to do another 2D title and they came up with the non-linear structure and the wall gimmick. Using alttp map was just adequate.

Neither Miyamoto, Aonuma, Fujibayashi or anyone at nintendo is interested in making a new Zelda game with the excuse of filling holes in a timeline they purposedly want to be as confusing as possible. If they have new ideas that could benefit from using the n64 games as a base, there's a chance they do that, but it's just unlikely given N64 style is the same as WW, TP and SS, only with worse graphics.

Again, your idea just sounds like the opposite of how nintendo works.

He doesn't become a Stalfos, he lives a long and happy life but dies with unfinished business because he never had a son to pass on his skills, so he lingers around as a ghost.

>tfw no skeleton knight ancestor to teach me how to stab dudes with style

I guess you have a pretty good point. I'm not a timelinefag though. Base 64 Zeldas gameplay style is my favorite though. If Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask similarity in overall game (is mechanic the right word?) is time, wouldn't it be not to difficult for a 3rd game to have a completely new time mechanic? I still think there's probably ground left to tread with the formula if they really wanted to. If the next BOTW Zelda game is years and years away which it probably is, wouldn't a less world heavy game inbetween make some sort of sense? Especially when Grezzo already has all of the assets to make a game like this happen since they already have all remade models? Really? Where did you get this info from about him living a long happy life? Isn't it rumored he got married to Malon or something like that? Isn't it sort've implied because he's a rancher for a bit in TP or something like that? I mean in OOT it's the only girl character who talks about marriage (as a joke likely) as her dad did as well. Imagine a fully grown up Link in Hyrule who's been together with Malon setting out for one last adventure across Hyrule because of something else that stirred up.

>mfw it gets shadowdropped at the VGAs

Well maybe grezzo has more chances to do something like that than nintendo. Still, nintendo needs to give them a pass with it and they need to justify a new entry with solid, good gameplay ideas.
Also, I'd say next mainline Zelda game for switch won't be further than fall 2019, seeing how much of a success BotW was and how interested they are in squeezing an engine that took years to make.

I haven't played Breath of the Wild yet. Assuming that you have, was the game made or hinting towards a follow up? I know there's still 2 dlc packs on the way, but do you think there'll be a BOTW 2 or a Majora's Mask type follow up to it like with OOT?

>shadowdropped
?

YOU CAN DOWNLOAD IT RIGHT NOW- type of thing.

Oh, ok.

There's nothing in the game that hints you towards any kind of sequel. That's never the case with Zelda. But it's very likely if you draw parallels with how Oot was developed and received.

What took the most time developing both games was finetuning an engine that made possible the kind of interactions and mechanics they wanted to implement. When released, they both received both critical and public acclaim and left with a GOAT engine that's only used by one game.

It just makes sense they keep using that engine and that the next title takes half the time to develop given they already have a perfectly fine and running skeleton for it.

You know that actually makes sense and would be a huge marketing stunt if everything goes right:

>and GOTY goes to.. The legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
>Thanks from nintendo EAD and the Zelda team, we're glad you enjoyed our game blah blah blah DLC pack 2 is ready to go as for now. Thanks for your support :^)

>exploring old Hyrule with new temples and shrines
OMG PLEASE THIS

>Buy Switch with Odyssey instead of Zelda
>I bought the vastly inferior game

FUUUUUUUUU

They're referring to BOTW as a whole, not the DLC

Seems like it won't take as long as I initially thought which is good. Will it have the same graphical style do you think? If you look back at Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, they both actually have the same game engines just completely different art styles. Will they switch it up for the next game do you think?

I thought Miyamoto was the second from the left

Nah, it'll probably look very similar. WW and TP used the same base engine but lightning and everything had to be heavily modified so it makes sense it took a while.

SM64 and Oot also shared the same engine but both games were vastly different.

>Breath of the Wild will likely get Game of the Year from many places
>despite Mario Odyssey coming out

fuck this gay earth

I want them to do a Link's Awakening remake with the BotW engine

Just throw me on Koholint and let me do shit

Holy shit, SM64 and OoT shared game engines? That's fucking crazy. Nintendo has so many roads they could take with the future of Zelda on Switch. I sure as fuck hope there's not another dry spell like there was with the 3D games after Twilight Princess.

We're happy to announce Nintendo Monster Hunter, please enjoy.

zelda innovated more than bing bing collectathon man

Bye bye Sony

I liked Odyssey but i enjoyed BotW way more. Plus while Odyssey rescued a genre that's been out of the videogame landscape for years, Zelda was more ambitious in scope and called the shots in a modern genre that was starting to show stagnation.

I thought game has to be multiplat to become GOTY.

>WiiU
>Switch
>PC

>starting to show stagnation.
Open world genre has been stale as fuck for a decade now

I think SS is much more enjoyable than TP but both games are worth playing. SS gets too much shit on Sup Forums that it doesn't deserve, still a fun game with great dungeons, abilities, and bosses. If you have the option you should just play both TP and SS since you evidently like the zelda games already.
