Cyberpunk 2077 will include online elements to ensure long-term success, says CD Projekt

>Online is necessary, or very recommended if you wish to achieve a long-term success. At some point, we have mentioned that there will be a certain online element related to Cyberpunk.

Neat.

>Giving a shit
This game was confirmed to be trash a long, long, long time ago.

i dont care about online element, but they announced the game in 2012, and still 5y later, there is nothing to show, there probably serious problems with game

>They confirmed it was open world garbage over two years ago
>Faggots have still been making threads anticipating it since then
s͘mh t͘bh f͘am

The studio's a mess

I knew CDPR got bought out mid Witcher 3 development. Here are the results slowly showing

Game ruined.

How many times are you gonna make this thread, dickhead?

w3 got downgraded, suddenly console versions became the focus, and now they dont seem to able to produce a game for 5 years.

>FB_IMG_1510655011079.jpg

didn't they say they weren't going to start development until TW3 and all its DLC were done so they didn't start working on it until after Blood and Wine?

are you serious? they already made cinematic trailer, game definitely started development way back before w3 got even released.

you either die a hero

>A release is necessary, or very recommended if you wish to achieve any success. At some point, we have mentioned that there will be a certain development element related to Cyberpunk.

>game is trash because it's big
Retard

okay why not
more games should implement single/multiplayer hybrid systems

this is going to get cancelled

CDPR is a shit dev, every game after TW1 got worse.

>Being an open world fag
Die

Of course but with the recent controversies regarding multiplayer this isn't going to sound positive for anyone.

There were 2 teams working on 2 different games originally. Mid Witcher3 cycle. Bunch of rumors came up that they got bought out. Demo redone. Sex scenes removed. Console focus. Mod tools scrapped. Redkit Engine licensing to ither devs scrapped. They are bought out and dancing to someone else's tune.

open world games are lifeless and boring garbage. cp2077 should have had hub worlds. it will be shit

>pre-rendered CGI trailer is an indication of game development
are you retarded?

>2k17
>giving fuck about this game

>DRM
dropped

>caring about Reddit-core games

If CDPR can pull off a dense, tight, Blade Runner-esque city I'm game. But if they're going for a single player campaign they should probably go for somewhat open levels like Deus Ex.

>open world is inherently bad
kys

Open world is indeed inherently bad. Most open world games are trash because of the open world aspect and the few that are actually good are good IN SPITE of it.

So do we know what its going to be?
If their not outright saying that theres going to be some multiplayer stuff in it then theres a good chance itll be something that will include very littler interaction with other players like the Pawn system in Dragons Dogma.

To add to this. The rumor was mentioning EA, as apparently EA executives were in their offices some employees said

Or live long enough to be bought by EA

No, you're retarded. You think Ubisoft games are bad because they're open world? No, it's because Ubisoft made them. Fucking moron.

I want a complete Cyberpunk city in vidya, so nah

if it turns out to be shit I can always pretend I was against open world design the whole time.

the trailer included story elements + game estetics, game definitely started development, you dont make game trailer from scratch, without any game content already made.

Breath of the Wild is trash because of the open world
Final Fantasy XV is trash because of the open world
Metal Gear Solid V is trash because of the open world
I could go on

dont think this deviant art tier shitty art will appeal to people

it really is generic cyberpunk neon city garbage

It's usually because it's too empty. If it was condensed. Say Witcher 3 Blood and wine dlc. They would have been a bit better

>Final Fantasy XV is trash because of the open world
So why was FF13 trash?

>Metal Gear Solid V is trash because of the open world
So why was MGS4 trash?

>Breath of the Wild is trash because of the open world
All Zelda games are trash to me, but Nintendo fans seemed to like it.

I agree. Now look at this article's headline again:

They were trash for different reasons, but that's besides the point.

Look at what I saidandCDPR is dead. Got bought out and dancing to the tune of their new masters

>generic cyberpunk neon city garbage
Give me a single fucking game besides Deus Ex (which is borderline cyberpunk) that has a cyberpunk city.
There a none. There are no modern cyberpunk games. So fuck off with your generic talk you faggot.
I really just want a fucking cyberpunk setting in a modern, huge game.

Basically I agree with you

FF13 is good
MGS4 is good

>The only improvement to make to TW3 is combat
>Clone Bloodborne

>Cyberpunk, Open world Bloodborne with a 120 hour story

Does ShadowRun count?

So when companies that clearly no longer make good games, even when not open world, decide to make an open world, it's the fault of the open world? No logic.

>The only improvement to make to TW3 is combat

and the awful "follow red trail" quest design

The Witcher 1 and 2 were good, The Witcher 3 was trash because of the open world. Try explaining your way out of this one.

>trailer included story elements
you mean the psycho squad guy aiming at the cyberpsycho? that's not fucking story element, it's just iconic part of cp2020 lore.

TW1 was garbage, TW2 was trash, TW3 was decent
/thread

>The Witcher 3 was trash
I'd say you're in the vast minority with this opinion. It was a good game.

it's not going to happen and your expectations are unreasonable. you can't have a high quality city that's also huge

the open world wasn't the problem with TW3, it was the rushed 2nd and 3rd act, the awful repetitive quests, copy pasted content and the combat. maybe you'll disagree with this but if FONV can create a living breathing world with interconnecting plots across the entire open world map that connects the entire world together, other people can too.

It was descent game better than any other open world games. Comparing to the series though, it's dead last. Dlc are better though.

>map 3 times bigger than that of witcher 3
Never played witcher 3 but it sounds big.

>the open world wasn't the problem with TW3
>it was the rushed 2nd and 3rd act, the awful repetitive quests, copy pasted content
all universal problems associated with open world shit

Yeah, I was starting to get really tired of using Witcher Senses towards the end of my playthrough.

My issue is that its rarely a truly larger world. They take the average assets of a linear game then copy-paste, shuffle around and spread them thin over a wide area.

the one who knows nothing about cyberpunk is you
you havent even played these so you dont get bore of this garbage

these have a pretty original and unique cyberpunk art and world building

neotokyo
kowloons gate
snatcher

2077s aesthetics is literally deviant art tier amateur trash. you can already recognize that judge dred garbage as typical ameriboo hollywood cliche too

i mean, todays deviant art could even have better artists than this mediocre trash

Didn't play it, but sure. I want a first or 3rd person rpg through, i want to walk around some cool cyberpunk city. Don't care how generic, i don't even think generic applies to cyberpunk.
Deus Ex was basically a tease, golem city in mankind divided gave me blue balls. I'm still pissed that they didn't make an DLC based on it.

youtube.com/watch?v=ec67dc6gqeY

>all universal problems associated with open world shit

no its associated with devs inexperienced with open worlds working on a crunch time. there are open world games with none of those problems

screenbang this, it's gonna be good.

nah. wrong. no proof

FONV

>2077s aesthetics is literally deviant art tier amateur trash
Sure thing Mr. Aesthetic. At they are making a game, or at least pretending to.

>tfw genuinely worried it's not coming out

Five years.

Five years since the sole trailer on a game they were apparently working on since W3.

It's fucking OVER boys. Gonna have to follow Industries of Titan now to get my cyberpunk city fix.

>you can't have a high quality city that's also huge
Google could probably do it with their 3d scanning satellites

It's in the name. 2020 ;)

what is 2077s aesthetic? how do you know enough about it already? there hasn't exactly been much revealed about the game, what i think i've seen like 3 pieces of art and 1 trailer.

nah
>thinking amerimutt developers like cdpr could ever replicate superior european game design like fonv

>Five years
Why is my life slipping away?

...

FONV wasn't fun to play, it just had a great story and atmosphere

what's your definition of quality? i'm talking about detail and content

So what would be acceptable online for a game like this? Coop missions Shadowrun style where you run as a crew and steal/kill/blow stuff up?

DaS Summoning where you just have a buddy help you out, maybe a guy comes and fucks your shit up?

Or just straight up PvP modes?

it's not acceptable. it's simply a form of drm

>How many times are you gonna make this videogame thread in this videogame board, dickhead?

Fuck off, faggot.

>i'm talking about detail and content
It doesn't get more detailed than a real city
>content
Since they don't have to manually create a whole city, they have time to focus entirely on content

niggers

Lootboxes.

how are you guys claiming they got bought out ? the guys from the company are still majority shareholders. they are a public company if they got bought you would know.

look at this dude, he can read file names. i am so proud of you, my son

Cyberpunk RTS

That's how game development works. You can't have as much good content as the huge map you're hyping. That's why open world games are shit.

Unless the game ships with server tools, all online function is unacceptable.

Which would be better if it weren't open world and were isometric instead. Thanks for proving my point.

oh no no NO NO NO NO

Yesterday
forums.cdprojektred.com/forum/en/cyberpunk/cyberpunk-2077-discussion/9851661-we-reached-a-milestone-the-engine-is-there-and-it-s-working-cdpr-new-interview

that shit trailer and those images and typical classes already have shown what this game will be. it wont drastically change, especially when it comes to AAA games because its fucking risky. the devs tend to be defensive about an existing direction.

cdpr shouldve made the art like avalon filmed by oshii, set in literally poland, which is an offshoot of cyberpunk. it wouldve been way fresh and unique and more "polish"
but they chose the generic deviant art tier neon city trashy style to pander to americunts and to push shitty aaa marketing that has been outmoded today. this game could fail hard because of it mediocre artstyle. it isnt like wicther, which has some unique "polish" aspects.

So, after 5 years they finished the minimal requirement to make a game?

Copy-pasted content is pretty much a given if you don't want your world to be small or empty. Though I'd say Witcher 3 would actually have been a better game if the wilderness was largely empty and there for a sense of scale, the generic points of interest are awful.

Dont' ask me mate i have no fucking clue. i'm just posting a link that people might be interested in.

Probably because of verticality.

Then yeah, shadowrun is for you. It's a tactical turn based RPG.

Do mechs count as well? Battletech is coming

they said they're thinking about online play like 2 years ago

Wouldn't it be kind of weird to use the Cyberpunk license and not set it in Night City

Witcher 3 showed that CDPro is shifting to becoming a big Western triple A developer.

Their games will be aimed at the mainstream from now on. And that means multiplayer instead of good old fashioned single player RPG.

Oh wait being stupid, you said 3rd person RPG. Drawing blank then
