Be honest: how many times did you summon for bosses?

Be honest: how many times did you summon for bosses?

None, i didn't had internet so I could'nt update for npc summons or cry for help.

5 times. Speaking of which, check this 5.

None since I didn't have psn plus or whatever

only used the NPC summons for chalice Rom. fuck that thing

i'm not a faggot, so 0

My first playthrough I played through the same time as a friend, and wel co-oped most of the bosses.
Second playthrough, I never summoned for any boss or section of the game, including DLC. Funnily, I found this playthrough easier - Beat Ludwig and Orphan first try, whereas co-oped, ludwig took 8 and orphan took about 20.

Anyway, except from the first boss everyone else was cheesable.

0 during my first run.
Countless with bros from /bbg/ since farming chalice is cancer alone

I solo every boss in the Souls games the first time around. I don't get why people would rob themselves of the initial challenge.

I was playing offline, but I did summon NPCS for a few. I know I did for the shades of yharnam and ludwig, but I think that's all.
I'm going to replay the game without that shit again starting tomorrow though.

Nice program. I can use a program too but I don't want to get banned because I don't like avoiding bans.
Also OP I summoned whenever the option was available since I like utilizing in game features instead of crutching myself for no reason.

Its this same logic that makes it so fun to fight in PVP and absolutely destroy honor autists who get triggered when you heal or play the game the way it was meant to be played.

>Vicar Amelia (npc)
>Darkbeast Paarl (npc)
>Celestial (unintentionally. I just wanted help to get through the first part of the upper ward)
>Gehrman
>Moon Presence

I have my late save copied so ima beat Gehrman and Moon Presence on my own one of these days

It's called luck. Now check these dubs

I summoned for Orphan.

Nice.

Once for Blood Starved Beast, I wish I had recorded it as it was the best fight I had.

4x in NPCs. 0x in online players 'cuz fuck paying for online

you can summon offline?
since you can parry some bosses it was enjoyable doing v.at.

not even once

I admit it .... FUCKING LAWRENCE, seriously FUCK.THAT.THING

Blood Starved is always a piece of shit I need to summon for.

NPCs sometimes. I don't pay for PS+ so no messages or online for me.

None.
Main game bosses are all pretty easy, Chalices can be a nightmare though.
>Cursed Bloodletting Beast
>Cursed Paarl

Same here. I never summon for bosses but that fight was no fun at all so i went ahead and also summoned Valdr to get it over with.

No PS+ so 0 and I went to NG+6

I don't remmeber exact number, but i summon for blood starved beast, rom and ebrietas. Only npc, don't have plus.

Whenever and at all possible. PSN costs money and the playbase will fade over time. I can try harder when the game is dead and online is pointless.

None. I was tempted for Rom, and I tried for the 3 dude yank squad at the end of the forest, but I ended up with shitters and got fucked up even more, so I just persevered till I got them myself.
I did eventually start ringing the beckoning (?) bell at boss gates for a few try’s so I knew what I was in for when I did eventually bite the bullet, so you call that being a scrub if you want.

I recently platinumd it and didn't summon at all except for a couple of npc's who made the bosses harder

Same, i took 0 damage when i read you can just dodge left. Also took no damage on that giant alien by staying behind its tail

Same. No Summons and no guides. Didn't know logarius existed until my seventh play through where I accidentally discovered him.

>people actually have problems with the blood starved beast

how

Summoned once and only once when trying to beat pastaface for the first time. We still lost, eventually beat her on my own later.

Never summoned players or NPC, beat all bosses in base game and DLC solo. I have done co-op by means of getting summoned into other people's world and co-op is fun.

I did not summon because I wanted it to be my personal accomplishment and wanted to do the bosses solo for that reason. I don't act elitist towards people who summon though, co-op has been one of the integral features of the game since Demon's Souls and it's pretty fun. Without hosts wanting help, we co-operators wouldn't get summons or invaders getting invasions.

I played it offline. I remember I summoned 1 NPC for that lightning beast boss in that world you go to after the sack guy gets you. I didn't need him though.

So Darkbeast Paarl then?

I played without subscription so at least not on the first playthrough, when I returned to the game later and had a subscription I use to sit at BSB all the time and would constantly get summoned. Was kindof bizzarre how many people were passing through that one zone and still playing the game, I was getting summoned with almost no down time.

Every time it was available, I don’t artificially limit my chances at success to gain virtual badass points. If the game give you a tool, you make use of it.

you sound like a fag

The giant amygdala in the chalice dungeon you have to face with half health. I think I summoned at least 20 times and ended up soloing it after running out of insight.

You can hear what I sound like through text?

None. Summoning would defeat the purpose of feeling alone in that world and trying to overcome the difficulties.

faggot

None. It makes them harder by padding out the health imo

Chalice Amy is horrible and I bet it's one of the more summoned to bosses.

The health additions do not make up for the fact that the boss is distracted by multiple targets and the damage output from two human players. Some bosses are better done solo like Midir from Dark Souls 3 but I can't think of a single non-cursed chalice boss that would be better off done solo. And even the cursed chalice bosses wouldn't be so bad if the health loss wouldn't cause the summons to get oneshot.

checked

well done

>the fact that the boss is distracted by multiple targets
This has never proven to be advantageous for me in BB. In DaS yeah, but a lot of BB bosses have such wide-sweeping attacks that the ones I tried to summon for could attack both of us at once. I get what you mean though; this is something I abuse for the Nameless King fight (which I still haven't managed to solo yet).

You're honestly a giant pussy and never deserved to get anywhere in the story if you used summons or friends. Beat it blind solo or get right the fuck out of my face.

And people wonder why souls fanbase is considered to be shit.

0

Summoning on your first playthrough ruins the game.

I just beat orphan of kid solo woooooooo

also where do I get ritual blood 5 and why was the hintertomb chalices such a waste of time?

Which bosses do you mean? And please specify if you're using NPC summon because it makes a world of difference. Like Rom is easy but Damian of Mensis is a retard and runs right into the Romlets and gets often killed immediately as the result. Henriett for Ludwig is also a massively bad choice and whenever I see the host summoned Henriett as a co-operator I know we're boned.

I've played everything from Demon's Soul through dark souls 3 and I've summoned for literally every single boss fight that allowed it.

I buy SoulsBorne games ONLY for fun play together with friends. So all of them.
Without friends those games are boring as fuck. (I complete NG+ solo after this usually, unless I'm really burned out for the game)
Fite me.

>Ritual Blood 5
You can buy this from the Insight Bath at NG plus, there are 3 in Ipper Cathedral Ward, and you get them from Depth 4 Chalice Dungs. I got all I needed for Lower Loran from Ailing Loran treasure rooms.

as many times as i fucked your mom :^)

sWEET THANKS

I summoned for Amelia to see what the co-op was like. Wound up beating her unfortunately.

That instant kill grab attack is nasty. I had problems with the Loran BSB because after whittling him down to a tiny amount of health it did instakill grab attack and I was done for. The thing is, I think BSB input reads and when you use an item, like Antidote, it registers you as being vulnerable so it will go for the grab when you're relatively defenseless against it. So I learnt from this and told the poison to go fuck itself and healed through it instead of curing it.

Defiled Watchdog, players and NPC (not a good example because of the health debuff)
SoY, players
Chalice Rom, players and NPC
Logarius, players
Amelia, players
BSB, NPC (I think)
Ended up just toughing it out and soloing them

Your helpers were bad.

I have literally never summoned anything for any boss in any Soulsborne ever. I play these games to challenge myself.

Only ever summoned once across all of Souls and Bloodborne, and it was on a low level faith character against the Dancer without Gnaw. I died and ended up doing it on my own anyway because I was too embarassed to summon him again.
If we're counting NPC's then I summoned for Ebrietas too because she brickwalled me for 2 weeks straight

First time? Never

Afterward a bunch of times with friends over party chat

I summoned only on the 2nd boss.

Game was a ''nightmare''

I still can't beat Cleric Beast and I summon a lot. This game sucks. I rather play Dark Souls II which is the best game in the series. Also check this 2

attack his knees and stop b8ing on Sup Forums

It's always fascinating to see which bosses give people a hard time and which ones they can breeze past. I myself defeated Blood Starved Beast solo first try while I died dozens of times to Rom.

Yeah no shit doofus

I go through every souls/borne games Solo. It's the best way for me to get the most out of the experience.

That said, the Old hunters DLC kicked my ass. Laurence was someone I actually summoned help on. My trophy screenshot doesn't lie. However, years after release I'm playing it again. This time with no PS subscription, so going through everything solo, Laurence and chalice dungeons are going to be a bitch.

None. I never even did a single invasion, either. Honestly BB feels like a 100% single player game to me for some reason, it just feels like there's no reason to summon or invade, also pvp is fuck awful from what I have seen.

Aren't chalice dungeons work only with online connection?
Like, do they even function without PS+?

None first time, second playthrough I summoned for blood starved beast (I just got ptsd from that grab attack). Never had summoned since, but I helped a lot of beckoners just after beating ludwig myself.

Chalices can be done solo without PSplus. Can confirm.

I'm on NG+3 and got my Yharnam Stone. I would say objectively the DLC is way fucking harder than the base game, unless you count a couple CD bosses like the Amygdala in the FRC. Not counting those,

1. Orphan
2. Ludwig
3. Laurence
4. Ebrietas
5. Maria

They are the only bosses I get stuck on. Also, I only keep Orphan on top because on an initial playthrough, he is the hardest boss I've fought in any Soulsborne yet. I struggle with Ludwig more in subsequent NGs.

I make it a point to go through every souls game blind and solo on my first playthrough, although BB was actually the first one I ever played so I definitely struggled a lot more with it. Still a lot more satisfying that way to me.

On the first playthrough, 0. I don't summon until I've beat the boss/area at least once solo. Even though I can't remember, I'm pretty sure I did help other people out so it's not like my first playthrough was purely offline.

Then again the pve multiplayer in souls borne games has always been pretty shit, and I would actually like to see a game that sorta focuses on summons a bit more.

Once, on my third playthrough because I wanted to see the summon animation.

I summoned npcs for laurance and darkbeast paarl on ng+

You just can't join or host chalice dungeons without online. The first time I played through chalice dungeons I was playing online, but never use the summoning bell.

So far without PS+ I'm halfway through the chalice dungeons. Need to focus a bit more on the main game before I delve in further, don't want my damage too high for the main game.

None so far but I'm tempted to because right now I keep dying on the orphan of Kos. Think I'll just take a break and come back to it in an hour or so.

Orphan of Kos first phase can be cheesed with Backstabs if your parrying skill are lacking. So exploit that if you just need practice against his second phase.

Friendly reminder that dsp spend 3 hours against ludwig and ragequitted bloodborne

None. I'm not a bitch

Just finished the dlc on ng+. I was expecting Orphan of kos to be the hardest motherfucker but it was too easy.I killed him in 5 tries. Is the fight overrated or is it just a meme? Ludwig was waaaay harder, I got stuck on him for more than 4 hours

Never.

I don't even have an online subscription so even if I wanted to summon, I couldn't.

You're not wrong, let's just say there are 2 categories, those who struggled way longer with ludwig and those who struggled way longer with kos.

I only summoned Valtr for Laurence and Ludwig so I could get some vermin to level up in the league because I was playing offline.

yeah, I find humanoid bosses easier and more fun. Beasts are hard to read

>summoning for Kos

Absolutely not, die 100 times like the rest of us

0 on my first run. After that if I felt like it.

Never, why would I ruin the game for myself?

Well you've been subjected to the blatant yelling, opinions and general first timers experience about his difficulty. So you've just expected that fight to be incredibly hard.

I for one, struggled a lot with Both Ludwig and Orphan of Kos, it wasn't before I realized I could parry the shit out of Orphan that his first phase became trivialized. The things about souls bosses, as long as you understand the longevity and timings of your dodge I-frames, nothing is 'hard'.

I just spent 4 days straight bashing my head against Ludwig, because you can't parry him and have to dodge effectively to avoid his attacks. But Ludwigs is a bit more forgiving when it comes to attacks patterns compared to Orphan, who's faster with less recovery time between attacks.

At the end of the day, whenever or not you find him harder then other bosses is purely subjective.

My first three playthroughs of the game to get Platinum were all done offline as I didn't have a stable internet or PSPlus. I'm currently CoOping this game with a friend

I think on my first playthrough I did use NPCs on a few bosses

You dont have to have ps+ to see messages or ghosts

Caved with defiled anygdala. Only time though. Ended up fighting McAnus in DaS with someone I was co-oping with. Never summoned in DeS.

I summon NPCs when they're available. Never a human though.

Really? I don't see any messages or bloodstains.
Same applies for DS3.

>co-op in bloodborne
its shit cos. bells suck and are worse than summon signs in every way, theyre a dumber version of ds3 covenants, and the bb covenants are even worse than souls covenants period so thats saying something too.

kos never kosm
